"set's up defensive position with lmg and crate" "notices teammates that are stuck out of range of crate" " throws pouches and provides cover fire while they move to a safer position" like a support player should be doing.
Most people go pure offensive though which is quite annoying when all eight of the support players right next to you don't have either of the ammo gadgets.
YES. It's insane how helpful it is in offensives and defences. You can still have you infinite resupply MG nest (how I run the Hotchkiss) but are equally able to run around supply everyone and their mother from AT grenades to flares to crumpets. It's the best way to play support imo, unless I'm on Sinai in which case lol limpet mines for destroying buildings
Me in battle... (Argonne Forest) Damn I need ammo... Nobody is playing support? Ooo I killed a support. Ammo ammo ammo! tf? HE Crossbow and Repair Tool? Props for repair tool but no ammo? F*ck me *redeploys*
Rogue-9 Was this ever officially confirmed? Players have reported that it's a bug since the grenade resupply sound can still be heard while others are saying it's a silent & intentional "nerf".
Pouches are for people who use the Bar, Magsden, Chauchat, and generally support players who are aggressive. The crate is for support players who use defensive and telescopic lmg's, who defend or play further back from the combat, and typically for groups staying clumped in one area. Both have their advantages, it depends on the player and their preference what they should use.
i use the chauchat and crates. im very aggressive, but also really defensive, and i find that the crates work better for supporting myself so i can spend time reloading my 20 round mag, rather than to keep throwing myself down some pouches. But i also find them extremely useful to put on the edge of a point when i get their, so my teammates can take the ammo as we (usually only me cause everyone cares about kd) teak the point (or get burned/gassed. Which happens a lot...)
Word of caution to any support players deciding to switch from crates to pouches. When spotting enemies, make sure no team mates are in front of you. Your player will throw an ammo pouch to said teammate (even when they're a good distance away) and if you need to fire on the enemy, you will have to wait for the ammo throw animation to end before your player pulls up your LMG.
After watching his last video about the pouches I switched to see which was easier for my game style. I now switch depending on the map. If it is an open map I use pouches (Sinai, Suez, Giants shadow). For the maps with tight paths and dedicated routes to flags I use the crates (Fort De Vuex, Amiens, both night maps) I have found the crate to be more team beneficial. Rogue-9 has helped me so much with the meta of this game I really don't think I can thank him enough. Between him teaching me the meta and Thebrokenmachine teaching me to be more patient my game has improved immensely.
Yeah I know about that timer. But staying on that thing is a bit hard when you're dancing around a tank. Also the muscle memory of spamming the pouch is really hard to get over.
pouch and crate are identical when it comes to resupplying limpets. thats also what wolvenworks wanted to say. theres no timer either way only grenades have this timer. overall id also say that the pouches are superior.
I like to run both. with the crates though you have to place them in high traffic areas. I'm constantly running around and refilling my team's ammo. I'll also drop a crate off for snipers, get the resupply, keep running wait about 30 secs and drop the crate in a high traffic area and leave it there. I usually am the highest supply score in most of my games. recently I've switched to using both ammo pouches *and* crates based on your last video and now I'm even better at supply. so I guess it just depends on playing smart and knowing all the facts (which your videos are perfect for, so thanks for that!) cheers!
Hmm I was waiting for something like this Personally I go crate when I'm pinned down, so both medic and support, but pouch when we are really pushing and going great or when I'm playing more active
I run the crates because I often set up my machine gun with a bipod at strategic locations to lock down an area, this makes me largely immobile so the crate next to me does a lot of good, especially in replacing my large MG magazines so I don't have to worry about ammo and can keep firing.
James Desautel This is the most important comment on this video. People forget that it isn't your job to run around like an idiot throwing footballs. You're supposed to be stationary laying down suppression. Hold the position, others will run up to you as you're the center of the frontline, they get a refill as they pass. This is why we shouldn't put stock in TH-cam posters. He expects everyone to be using LMGs like assault. Major league? My hairy bunions.
James Desautel Some people also tend to forget you can create 3 classes with different playstyles. With a perino and smoke grenades I use crates, as I tend to lay covering fire across the street. But with my bar, build for cqc, I use the pouch as I'm on the move.
Idk because the crate works better when your defending a objective its easer to let your ammo replesish automatically rather then keep having to throw ammo pouchs.
well, plus having to stay close to your allies to supply them, which is not always ideal. For example, someone upstairs on tsaritsyn might not want to have to babysit defenders up there with packs when they could be doing other things.
Not always. I have played a few games where it also served as a way to encourage players to relocate a bit as they would need to do so for ammunition. As someone argued in a comment below, pouches are more powerful as communication increases in a squad, whereas crates are more useful when you are not in a situation where that is possible, or are being ignored. There is also a case to be made for the crates being easier for new players to manage, who can be potentially overwhelmed by the number of things going on that managing additional things might be difficult. Certainly, it is one button and relatively easy to do once you get going, but not right away. I think the reason the reaction was so strong to Rogue-9's original video was that he listed using crates as the number one worst tactic in the game, when clearly there are situations where it can be useful, and the argument continues to come across as more of an entitlement to the support's time, rather than the stronger argument of "having the squad wait around for ammunition can hamstring your momentum and cluster players dangerously.
coolwhoami. "...well plus having to stay close to your allies to resupply them." If your going as a squad you should always be somewhat near them. Also. Now I have to sit near the crate you just put down, most blueberries place it randomly, which is not ideal. Meanwhile a pouch you can quarterback throw them to me. Instantly resupplying me and continuing the push with me. Pouches are mainly for aggressive play, crates are mainly for defensive play.
I always preferred the crates, it allows me to constantly lay down suppressive fire and cover objectives without having to turn around to throw a pouch to my teammates
I see it that way: There’s 31 other players on my team. At least 10 of them will always be in my closer vicinity. It’s annoying to keep throwing pouches, especially with the 6 second cooldown. I want to play and not constantly resupply everyone. By the time all 10 people are resupplied, the first guy needs ammo again. Doesn’t make it any easier that everyone is running around so you don’t know who has already been resupplied.
Same thing. It depends on the situation I guess. Pouches are great for running around, throwing them at teammates and healing them quickly. Boxes can heal several allies at the same time, but they need to stay still (in some case, juicy targets for snipers, LMGs or mortars. If you play as an agressive medic, running with the assault and support people, I would recommand the more mobile pouches. If you stay in defensive position and want to heal more static people (snipers and machineguns nests), I guess the box is fine. I personnaly alternate between pouches and boxes when playing support, but always use pouches when playing medic.
I run both, but the one thing I hate about pouches is if you try spotting an enemy but a teammate runs in front of you, you'll throw the pouch; giving the enemy a chance to gun you down. Been killed by that a few times now.
I run pouch for medic and crate for support. Better to throw health to people and for the support just drop the crate around a corner or behind your team and let them have at it
I prefer the pouches. I usually play medic with the pouches so it’s just something I’m already used to. But it’s cool to see the statistics on them. Plus the crate’s always just felt weird for me to use for how I play. Not terrible, just I have to be more conscious about where I place it sometimes and it’s just one more thing for me to think about in the middle of a game. So I started using the pouches so I can think about healing/resupplying easier. Like when healing I just have to look at them to see if they need it and I can just throw a pouch and keep going. Plus I can still heal if I’m pinned down behind cover and can’t get close enough for a crate to have worked. Im a very aggressive and defensive medic depending on the situation and that’s the class I’m most comfortable with but I also feel comfortable with so I very rarely play support and assault but I do play scout quite a bit
I think you forget when you play conquest a big group of players sitting on the flag and capture. In this situation they are static and are not really moving much. There I put a ammo crate in the middle and everybody can come and take what they need for the next attack and by the time we have the flag everybody has full gadgets and ammo. The argument with the gadgets is really just true for assault player, every other class does not rely so much on gadgets (maybe scout with spotting flares). I play mostly conquest and for me it is much better to put one crate on the ground and forget it then to supply and look at 6 different mates... especially when you are capturing an objective, there I can use my time and look for incoming enemies then to give 6 teammates individually ammo. But that's my point of view and you didn't change that with this video...
I still prefer the crates and I'll try to explain why, but I'm not exactly fully awake so if I stumble a bit just bear with me. The pouches are great for resupplying gadgets, true, but the gadgets that you fairly universally want around are spot flares, grenades (AT, crossbow, rifle, w/e), and resupply/medical crates/pouches (which you don't have any effect on other than what you throw down). For spot flares, I'll concede that pouches are better... unless you have multiple scouts entrenched in a defensive position with you and a larger group that also needs ammo. I find this being the case quite often in conquest, where I like to play defensively when I can and hold a key point for as long as possible. In such a situation, the slow resupply on grenade gadgets is pretty effectively negated by the resupply on regular grenades to the group as a whole. Pouches can resupply grenades, true, as long as no one picks them up and everyone crows around them due to their short range. A quick aside about grenade spam: I know you complained about enabling grenade spam with the crates, and I feel the same way about GS mechanically, but pouches enable exactly that through grenade gadgets, so it's less a matter of enabling it vs not and more where the grenades are coming from and what kind they are. I'd much rather an enemy team be throwing gas and incendiary that I have a chance of surviving if I'm quick rather than stupid AT grenades that hit a wall and therefor start their timer in flight, leaving me no response by the time I see the indicator. And on the other side of it, I'd prefer my team be using heavy area denial as well so I know which way the enemies are more likely to take (which is to say, the one that isn't on fire). With grenade gadgets, you only have one type: the kind that goes 'boom' and generally isn't fun for either side. The other thing is mobility. Sure, the pouches seem more mobile at first glance, but for every pouch you throw, that animation playing is time you're not suppressing the enemy or reloading or repairing the tank etc. Yeah, it's a small amount of time on its own, but it's about a second per pouch, plus time to recharge between if you have to resupply multiple people, and it adds up. I'd rather throw down a crate by some guys grouped up by the windows and then I'm free to actually do something instead of micromanaging who has ammo, because while I would be throwing pouches to the three guys that need it, I could have been reloading my MG15, and the last thing that fucking thing needs is 3-4 seconds added to its reload in a firefight. And if I'm following the tankhunter in my squad, you can bet I'm bringing the crate so I can focus more on watching his ass than making sure he and the medic with us are stocked. With pouches you can supply someone when moving between points, yes, but as soon as you're even somewhat stationary and more than two people want ammo, they're a burden. Thus, the crates, ironically, let me be more active on a point or during a siege. I know this sounds like a weak argument, but in my experience it matters way more than it sounds like it should. All of this would be solved by just running both, but you'll have to pry my repair tool from my cold, dead hands, so since I only have one slot, expect a crate when you shout at me for ammo.
I've noticed that I get way more resupply ribbons & higher support score after changing to pouches, so I think I'll stick with them, particularly since it makes resupplying friendly forces under fire so much easier & safer.
Problem with the pouches is that support players are also really important for suppresive fire because or their LMG's, especially on defense. When you are defending an objective with large group of teammates it can take a lot of time to refill all of their ammo, time you can use to fire a lot of rounds on to the enemy lines. With the crate you can just put it down and keep firing and suppresing. So it really depends on the situation.
I enjoy the ammo crate so I can just bipod with one next to me and people can just come get ammo when they need it the pouches are perfect for a run and gun style support player
Don’t you hate it when you’re out of anti tank rockets, so you go to find a support player and of course they place down that horrifically horrifying box? Then you have to stand there for 2 centuries while running the risk of getting model 10-A-automatiriegaled.
Bought BF1 recently and since that i have been watching your videos. Quality stuff. I like how you tell facts, not just: use this coz i say so. Keep it up mate.
It's not wasteful to just keep shooting. It may make them change their mind about challenging you, suppression assists, or you are using a medic rifle that doesn't do a lot of damage at distance like the autoloading extended. I go through ammo with that like there is no tomorrow, and not to mention I've been on the same maps for ages now, and got into the habit of pre firing which does piss off some people but players have a tendency to take the same routes to flags.
I use to prefer crates, but now I mostly prefer pouches because when you're trying to resupply someone that's running, they may not know your trying to resupply them so they just keep running away from your crate. Meanwhile, you can press R1(PS4) at them and your guy throws a on ammo pouch at them, resuppling them... But there are sometime that I wish I had a crate. Sometimes I find myself in a position that I'm holding with a lot of people that need ammo.... that is when the ammo crate become superior.....
Box pro 1. How offen do one find 2 small bags in prox to eatchoder? 2. small poutches dont let me stand next to a box, flare 2x. and run of with 2 ekstra flares. 3. poutch feels like it have smaller radius if you wanna regen youre nade. 4. boxes, dont get "taken" from you when you are regening. 5. box apparently let you move 7meters without having to think, still regenning, while you fight. 6. other players are more likely to spot a box over a poutch. 7. you dont have to look "as mutch" on the ground to find a box, hence look at the enemy. 8. players are more likely to accidetialy get ammpo from youre box 9. 5sec is realy long time to wait for that AT nade. but its faster than waiting 10 sec for next poutch. (cause when you use poutches you "should" spam em all the time) 10. need to LAY ammo right here, pls look at a wall or the ground to place ammo perfectly. 11. Ammo is down, palyers must get it em self, pro i can fight the enemy at the same time. (poutch you need to aim at friendly to give ammo) 12. 5 sec to get a gadget. is that bad? maybe look at the map, get situational awareness. (
I run with pouches more because it seems only just me and a few others run for a flank. My playstyle would make the crates for inconvenient in most of my situations.
I tend to be a pouch guy but I will switch it out for a crate once and a while. Second gadget is always one of the grenade xbows either the frag xbow with light AT grenade or HE xbow with frag/incendiary/gas.
I use crate because it is usually more helpful to supply a large amount of people at once. Despite situations where I only give ammo to one person, for the most part I place ammo in large groups or at high traffic areas. It fits my play style much better, also it’s nice to place a crate next to you when you trying holding an angle or vantage point with your squad, or solo
Rogue-9 yes but you can't move an inch and I use gas as a flair and a defensive tactic as a support. It's extremely effective and is an edge you need because of the crapy weapons of the support class. They don't have an Automatica.
My main loadout is MG15 Storm, Modello 1915, Ammo Pouch, Ammo Crate, and Incendiary Grenade. I constantly spawn ammo pouches and crates. At any given time, you can have 3 pouches and 1 crate out. Since I am running around, I am resupplying friendly units that pass by me. In a game of conquest, it's not uncommon for me to do 100+ resupplies.
my last video got sooooo much hate from people who were absolutely convinced that the crate is better... I hope some of them bother to watch this video too
AND it works well with agressive combat where you want to give your teammate ammo but he's running and he don't want to wait so long for ammo, you just throw nice pack of rounds and rockets/grenades, literally Support with Pouch is best friend of everyone especially Assaults who love theirs AT cannons and want to keep sniping the enemies btw: Rogue, your channel is fantastic, i think every single player of BF1 and R6S who care about improving his skill should watch you, informations i gained from your videos helped me so much! now i'm using best weapons and attachments, i just play better now. i hope with next Battlefield game you will try to do similar series :3 you are the best, don't care about bad words... "remember that stupid people keep shouting, do your best for people who are opened for advices and help them, even if everyone will hate you but one person is still here for you, you have to try your best and never give up"
Tomek Dobry i only have a crate on one of my support loadouts. This one is for defending points with a high capacity MG where I have to focus on shooting more than on resupplying. There I use the crate so I have more time to focus on my targets in front of me and therefore more time to kill them.
The thing is, they are better in some situations. Since I'm often in Operations, the crate is almost always better since everything is super chaotic, and most people who don't die in a minute usually run out of primary ammunition, particularly on infantry maps where gadgets are less frequently used in general. Pouches are fast, that's their point, but they are completely outclassed if you got several team-mates who need ammo, which is very common in these clustered modes. I also usually don't care for pouches if I'm a medic as I'm practically never using anything but the medbox and the revive tool, neither of which can be resupplied. As a support, I'm usually just refilling my own gadgets anyway but frequently run with a repair tool or both ammo gadgets, scout, I usually run out of ALL my bullets and gadgets and a pouch simply won't be enough.
I find that just choosing one makes it slightly harder to resupply in general, the pouch can only do 2 at a time but refills in bulk and can be done at distance, while the crate is good for resupplying large quantities and replaces grenades much easier than pouches, so I just choose both to be as efficient as possible when delivering ammo.
I use the crates with the Benet Marcie to "set up" and keep up suppressive long range fire. I use the pouches with the BAR1918 in tighter situations like Vaux fortress
I try to toss pouches to everybody but you can't, it stops you because of cool down, so I can't resupply myself or anybody for like 10 seconds. Whereas the crate, you just slap it down as much as you want. Also, people should be able to get kills without constant gadget resupplies, they've got guns for a reason.
The only real reasons to use the crate are hassle-free grenade resupply and the ability to give ammo to people without necessarily being there. The thing is how often I see people complaining like, "Oh, it's such a hassle to sit on a crate for ten seconds." Well, chances are your other option in that situation is no ammo whatsoever or chasing down a support (which, as we know, is a crapshoot).
I reluctantly switched from Pouches to the Crate with the grenade resupply update months ago. But you, Rogue9, have shown me the LIGHT! When you proved in your last video that pouches also perform the 3x resupply rate when you're at full ammo, every conspiracy theory made sense and I have found God again!
I'd guess the other issue is that the pouches are default unlocks, while the crates need to be unlocked with warbonds, leading most people to having a predisposition against the pouches.
Most of the time when I’m using an LMG and just playing the supportive role of picking off people at a distance I use the creat. I just slap it down and camp for a bit on a hill or place it in high traffic areas to resupply my team. Also I don’t mind waiting for a bit in most game modes just so I can get a break for a little and think about what my next plan of attack should be to either kill a person or to go to an objective
Advantages : Pouches : Immediately resupplies both gadgets and bullets of both you and teammates Crates : Allows you to resupply multiple teammates without having to tend to them Disadvantages Pouches : If you toss a few and no one picks them up, you'll have a noticeable delay until your next drop Crates : Considerably slow resupply time for gadgets like Limpet charges, Assault weapons and Scout flares
I don’t use the pouches because they’re limited to 2, and if resupply someone who fired one round will take it over someone who is down to 3 secondary rounds. I used the pouches, but only when I need reapplies for tasks so I can spam the spot button and get them quicker.
I by far prefer the pouches any day over the crates, but as medic as well as support. They seem to me to work faster than the crate. Also i think they suit my play style better as i am often running around.
If I'm running solo with randoms I usually run with both. Crates to resupply myself and random teammates who run by, pouches to resupply assaults to blow up tanks that I don't won't to run up next too with limpets. If I'm with a friend, I'll run pouches and a wrench because I play differently.
I use the create because when you capture an objective you often do it with a group of other players and you have to stay in one position for a long time. the other situation is when I see a player or group of players shooting from in cover so I place one near them or you could deploy you mortar. Another point is that the support class doesn't need to resupply their gadgets because they regenerate by themselves so you can remain mobile yourself and drop a create down when you see a group or need bullets and grenades. I like having a grenade to use when I find myself outnumbered or caught of guard. I find if nothing else the time spent waiting for amo can be used to look at the map and work out where is the best position to attack or perhaps defend next. Still everyone has their own style.
Spot flares takes forever to resupply from the crate. But in games where there's a lot of teammates clustered together I sometimes use the crate in their mids, run away to let them die from a single dynamite or grenade which is bound to happen. I'm being selfish and maximizing my own score yes but you can't help with the dumb teams sometimes and just make the best of the situation.
A quality of life improvement I'd like to see for the pouches is a cooldown timer much like the one the Cavalry gets when deploying health/ammo pouches off horseback.
IMO, the main problem of the crates in BF1 is that we can only deploy 1 at a time, which often leads to a frustrating situation like "yay, I see an ammo crate there, let's go near it for a resupply! ...aaaaaand it's gone". This is usually because the support player is moving with his squad and has to resupply his teammates or himself further away... or he's just frenetically dropping creates like he would do with pouches.
I use crates, and i m often on highlights for resuplies on conquest. Drop it in smart places. And when you see someone asking ammo behind you, just drop crate and keep going...and you see there were more teammates low on ammo also.
Well this is strange. Didn't Dice remove the explosive resupply for ammo pouches at one point? Why change it back? It was perfectly ballanced that way.
I think this video just goes to prove that my unpopular choice of forgoing the crossbow launcher in favor of having both the crate and the pouches is a worthwhile endeavor.
I like the crate better myself. On maps like Ballroom Blitz and other CQC maps your team mates tend to crowd around an objective to defend it so the crate allows everyone to be quickly re supplied with ammo and some gadgets. I like the crate even more since I was the top player in a match I was in yesterday as a support and with the crate I got a total of 213 resupplies.
Rouge 9 if i remember correctly the crates (medic and support) do not work when you are surpressed ( gas (friendly and enemy), fire, explosions and bullets ). BTW BF4 also had crates and pouches.
I'd like to say that I'm somewhat a completionist in bf1 so I must unlock every weapon/gadget. I've used the support and I use the crate because I'm almost always surrounded by a bunch of people and I feel more effective dropping a crate and fighting by their side instead of throwing down one pouch and worrying when I can throw the next one. I'd like to view your arguments valid and will give pouches a chance to see how they fare.
I use ammo pouches to support pushers. I usually end up following pushers while using suppression fire to keep enemies tagged and keep lobbing fire grenades to keep enemies moving out of cover.... if the pushers are good then there is not really anytime to use crates.
The reload times are a real problem. Both have advantages. If your holding or defending the crate has a slight advantage. But on the move or pushing the pouches are much more effective. The number 1 problem though is most support players don't throw either near enough.
I mostly use the crate. With support i usualy try to block a pathway if we are in defense. Gasgrenade-spam with heavy Mg-fire is hell for enemys in small hallways or similar situations.
Both have their advantages and fails like for exp. The crate can resupply a lot of people and the pouch can resupply one guy (two guys cause you have two pouches) the crate isn't mobile but the pouch is
I use the crate to play a suppressive roll to spray a lot of led down range to kill multiple targets in one 45° or 180° so I can have infinite ammo and just give more ammo to the people who need it right where I'm sitting spraying down the enemy out of gun fire
I run the box on the Support and the pouch for the medic. Medic is a on the move type class, while support is more reserved. It's more important to heal on the move, so that's why I use the pouch. For ammo, I use the box because it can cover more players and you just need to stop for a second to get primary and secondary ammo. It takes like 3 seconds to get full ammo, excluding grenades and gadgets because they take a bit long. Like trying to get the at grenades back. I swear you have to wait like a full minute to just get one at grenade which is ultimate not even going to do enough to a tank. That's another thing, I'm not a fan of throwing 3 dynamite and then having to use an extra grenade to kill one tank. For a long time Battlefield player, that is to much. Especially considering 3rd person is the clear choice in this game, which makes landing dynamite on a tank more difficult. Used to take 2 dynamite to kill one tank. Now it takes 3 and an extra grenade. And you don't even get your ammo back fast enough.
TBH i only picked crate for the nade refills. pouches don't refill nades, the just made timers faster. and in target-rich asian servers, having a nade ready is just as urgent as getting gadgets topped up
I prefer pouches. I don't play support much at all, I"m only level 18 and everything else has been maxed out for ages now with the exception of assualt which is in the 40's for me. The way I like to look at it, is that I'm a person who likes to push and keep moving. That's why I choose pouches for medic. If you aren't moving you are reloading, and if you aren't reloading, you are pushing, flanking, shooting, or reviving. If you are still you are dead unless you have cover and reloading. Just keep moving.
As a "most supplied" player in 50% of my support games, I value crates more than punches, cuz I love my keyboard and don't want it get hurt. Plus there are numerous choke points in bf1 where you can resupply 4+ friendlies simultaneously easily. SO Medic is another story.
+giacomo carrara true, leaving a crate next to a sniper and then having the discipline to not place another one for a while can be really helpful. Especially infinite K bullets can make even a sniper dangerous to vehicles
I love to spam grenades. At least over a month ago when I did that with gas grenades. So crates seemed to be great for that. Then came not only your last video about how packs will still regenerate grenades, but then the one specialization unlock task of 100 team reloads in one round. So what I do? I equipped both the packs and the crates. I finally unlocked that requirement with perhaps at least 126 (or162, I can get dyslexic with my numbers) reloads in a standard conquest mode. But since then, I've only used the pouches. Not only does it refill grenades after all but I can actually refill teammates on the other side of a death corridor without exposing myself. The only issues I have not with pouches is one, I spam too many that don't get used, I have to wait before throwing more when someone needs it. And secondly, if I want to reload a grenade while prone, I most likely have to throw two pouches (first one reloading my spare ammo) and of course throw it close enough for me to use. I haven't finished watching this particular video. I'd love to see the numbers you have discovered.
Pouches : If you want to be fast and mobile with the ability to resupply quickly Crates : If you want to help out multiple teammates without having to personally tend to them
Would like to know more info on the Limp Charge. Sometimes it does 20 damage on a light vehicle, but on 1 occasions on an artillery truck with full armor took it out in just one. No one shot at it as it was near their the enemy spawn, no mines, field cannons, nothing.
rogue-9, i think one of the argument is that the pouches only resupply grenades when you have full ammo, in maps that will form a "standoff" you dont have much chance to resupply grenade in the middle of the action. You have to stay out of combat to start regenerating grenade, other teammates who has fired a couple rounds could potentially take the puch away and you will be forced to throw another on the ground to regenerate grenades. Pouches has a cool down which you cant resupply multiple teammates at once, this is just my opnion tho.
Pouches are better for small games and squads, but in large servers I find I can't supply enough to keep up with my needs and my allies unless I take crates or both. I wonder if they will buff crates or nerf pouches like they did with grenades being instant filled.
I use both pouches and crates only for the medic because.... 1. The pouch is for quick healing 2. The crate is for getting many score and heal teammates.
Just make it like Medal of Honor Warfighter and make the Support have Ammo Sharing as a class ability. As in, press Action to refill ammo, or let them come to you and their ammo will regenerate.
Pouches for almost any situation hands down. Though on the rare time the team is short on support players, I'll run a pouch and crate. Running the crate alone is just annoying to work with. Running both is fantastic depending on the map. You can plop a crate down where people are camping and bugger off to help others who are being more mobile. Or you can spawn in with a crate if you know your squad is going to be taking up a defensive position and not moving much. Either way, it's a pocket pick, not really a go to.
Defending? Get the crate.
Bum rushing with your team? Get the pouch.
"set's up defensive position with lmg and crate" "notices teammates that are stuck out of range of crate" " throws pouches and provides cover fire while they move to a safer position" like a support player should be doing.
That’s *one* type of support player. Repairs is another type. Offensive firepower is another.
Most people go pure offensive though which is quite annoying when all eight of the support players right next to you don't have either of the ammo gadgets.
Why argue about pouches and crates when you can equip both?
Maybe you want a second gadget? He's just doing a comparison
Mod Kate This is obviously a joke comment you have replied to here, my friend. No one would really equip both ammo sources seriously.🤗
Mason Guyman Not if someone is trying to get resupply missions.
Or just to troll themselves.
+Mason Guyman I do in Fort De Vaux and the good times roll
Because they only ever have 1
Only rogue 9 can make a 11 minute video on a crate and a pouch
And that's only one third of the script I had ready for all of the support gadgets. That's why I split them up 😄
Rogue-9 You deserve more subs than the The god of toxic sergio.
Rogue-9 What else? Repair Tool vs In-vehicle Repairs?
Yayo' Ariowibowo no it’s obvious that the repair tool is better
I just run both and end up having around 500 resupplies on operations.
Nice!
Damn Straight :)
You sir are a hero. I wish the game would show your guy carrying a massive amount of bullets
Makes sense to me, put down the big box in a safe place for more long term resupply and use the smaller ones for more rapid resupply on the move.
Me in battle... (Argonne Forest)
Damn I need ammo...
Nobody is playing support?
Ooo I killed a support.
Ammo ammo ammo!
tf? HE Crossbow and Repair Tool?
Props for repair tool but no ammo?
F*ck me
*redeploys*
+Radi0activeMnky repair tool on Argonne?! Loooooool 🤣😂
But yeah, picking up a kit only to find no ammo is the worst
Nah nothing more immersive that running out of ammo and having to improvise.
Repair Tool on Argonne??
Was he trying to blow up the train or what?!?
Repair tool for the field gun and hmg :D
*Breaking News* : After being broken for a while, pouches give grenades again!
Rogue-9 Yeah very sad :(
Rogue-9 Was this ever officially confirmed? Players have reported that it's a bug since the grenade resupply sound can still be heard while others are saying it's a silent & intentional "nerf".
And given the power of grenades in this game, no matter how much we might dislike that, it's a pouch con.
Does this include explosive gadgets?
I really hope it gets fixed. I only used the pouch for a day.
Kevin Vargas this is helpful information so i dont have to switch to the gadget slot to throw each time
After watching his last video about the pouches I switched to see which was easier for my game style.
I love the pouches because I need my limpet charge ASAP. That tank isn't going to let me resupply will it now?
crates top up limpets immediately too. limpets have a timer after resupplying before they can be used again
You pick up the pouch when you walk over it and are immediatly resupplied. This is not a quality of the Ammo Crate I'm afraid.
Newend03 sometimes I go both and resupply everyone like crazy
I like to run both. with the crates though you have to place them in high traffic areas. I'm constantly running around and refilling my team's ammo. I'll also drop a crate off for snipers, get the resupply, keep running wait about 30 secs and drop the crate in a high traffic area and leave it there. I usually am the highest supply score in most of my games.
recently I've switched to using both ammo pouches *and* crates based on your last video and now I'm even better at supply. so I guess it just depends on playing smart and knowing all the facts (which your videos are perfect for, so thanks for that!)
cheers!
You sound like a god sent blessing
onedeadsaint that’s me on bf4. Throw the big bag at a group and then throw down the pouches at the fringes for when allies run off to heal
I may start doing that. I dig support gameplay!
Not a bad idea man, dont be aftaid to ditch the crate for a anti vehicle weapon tho, you can help your team that way also
Neal X01 support really isn't the greatest at anti vehicle, if you want to be anti vehicle I suggest running smoke or a light anti tank grenade
Can't wait for more gadgets!
David Ratin I heard that there will be a new gadget called Chankas turret
Montagne nice R6 joke but this is battlefield
All praise the mighty Lord Chanka 👐🙏
Luke Meakin no
Jason Voorhes there is the AA rocket gun I’ve killed the airship behemoth twice with it already
Hmm I was waiting for something like this
Personally I go crate when I'm pinned down, so both medic and support, but pouch when we are really pushing and going great or when I'm playing more active
Idk because the crate works better when your defending a objective its easer to let your ammo replesish automatically rather then keep having to throw ammo pouchs.
unmodrated yeah but it's literally a button to press to throw pouches
well, plus having to stay close to your allies to supply them, which is not always ideal. For example, someone upstairs on tsaritsyn might not want to have to babysit defenders up there with packs when they could be doing other things.
coolwhoami yeah but I mean for them to benefit from the crate it would have to be in a relatively close spot though right?
I see it that way:
There’s 31 other players on my team.
BUT NOW A QUESTION REMAINS: Medic boxes or Medic Pouches?
watch this space. I will get around to covering the medic gadgets at some point! definitely no later than 2018!
jonathan perez pouches, you can heal yourself while your sprinting. I literally toss one out everytime i am shot. Constant health regen
Pouches
Now is this a big bag or a little bag problem?
the correct answer is neither. real support players bring an HE crossbow and an HE mortar
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Scrub loadout.lol
Bobo Squiggilywinks what a sheev
elementaleighteight) that needs to be a website! Scrubloadout.lol
Bobo Squiggilywinks a real support player runs that.
I run both, but the one thing I hate about pouches is if you try spotting an enemy but a teammate runs in front of you, you'll throw the pouch; giving the enemy a chance to gun you down. Been killed by that a few times now.
I run pouch for medic and crate for support. Better to throw health to people and for the support just drop the crate around a corner or behind your team and let them have at it
Support is such a great class. Nothing better than taking over an enemy tank because they abandoned it and you have the power to be the metal medic.
The thing is crates can refill your entire squad and more when a large group is present. Pouches are best for team vs team and pidgeons mostly.
I've never heard someone say "behemoth" so badly.
Another quick thing you didn't mention, is that pouches can be thrown with the spot key, up to 20m. making it even easier than the crate.
+alexreffand fair enough, I'll take your crate 😄
Watched your video on melee weapons ahead of a service assignment, now I'm getting these recommended, i guess I'll watch them again
I'm a lazy support, I'd go with a box
Box pro
8. players are more likely to accidetialy get ammpo from youre box
9. 5sec is realy long time to wait for that AT nade. but its faster than waiting 10 sec for next poutch. (cause when you use poutches you "should" spam em all the time)
10. need to LAY ammo right here, pls look at a wall or the ground to place ammo perfectly.
11. Ammo is down, palyers must get it em self, pro i can fight the enemy at the same time. (poutch you need to aim at friendly to give ammo)
12. 5 sec to get a gadget. is that bad? maybe look at the map, get situational awareness. (
You could’ve summarized this in a fucking paragraph...
Could you speak English next time?
Jamal Mohammed I dunno about you, but I liked hearing about “ekstra ammpo putches” in his list
that was oddly satisfying to read the whole thing
I had no clue that the ammo pouch was this good, good video dude
I run with pouches more because it seems only just me and a few others run for a flank. My playstyle would make the crates for inconvenient in most of my situations.
I tend to be a pouch guy but I will switch it out for a crate once and a while. Second gadget is always one of the grenade xbows either the frag xbow with light AT grenade or HE xbow with frag/incendiary/gas.
If they want their ammo, they should come and get it
I use crate because it is usually more helpful to supply a large amount of people at once. Despite situations where I only give ammo to one person, for the most part I place ammo in large groups or at high traffic areas. It fits my play style much better, also it’s nice to place a crate next to you when you trying holding an angle or vantage point with your squad, or solo
I have a solution...use both
But how will I spam grenades by myself without the ammo crate?
Like I say in the video... pouches speed up the grenade refill too! It's the best kept secret about them!
I started using ammo pouch instead of ammo crates after watching your last video, it's really easy to use and much better.
+Chonlatid Wisuttajarn 👍😄
Pouch for instant carbine grenades and flares and AT rockets
that's it
Pouch is better
still thanks for Video Mr.Rouge-9 i love ya' ♥
Tomek Dobry Agreed
my last video got sooooo much hate from people who were absolutely convinced that the crate is better... I hope some of them bother to watch this video too
AND
it works well with agressive combat where you want to give your teammate ammo but he's running and he don't want to wait so long for ammo, you just throw nice pack of rounds and rockets/grenades, literally Support with Pouch is best friend of everyone especially Assaults who love theirs AT cannons and want to keep sniping the enemies
btw: Rogue, your channel is fantastic, i think every single player of BF1 and R6S who care about improving his skill should watch you, informations i gained from your videos helped me so much! now i'm using best weapons and attachments, i just play better now.
i hope with next Battlefield game you will try to do similar series :3 you are the best, don't care about bad words...
Advantages :
Pouches : Immediately resupplies both gadgets and bullets of both you and teammates
Crates : Allows you to resupply multiple teammates without having to tend to them
Disadvantages
Pouches : If you toss a few and no one picks them up, you'll have a noticeable delay until your next drop
Crates : Considerably slow resupply time for gadgets like Limpet charges, Assault weapons and Scout flares
Thanks to your last vid I now use the pouches every time. I have had most resuplays every game. Thank you for the advice
A quality of life improvement I'd like to see for the pouches is a cooldown timer much like the one the Cavalry gets when deploying health/ammo pouches off horseback.
One thing I forgot to say was the range of crate so...you don't need to be near it to get it
IMO, the main problem of the crates in BF1 is that we can only deploy 1 at a time, which often leads to a frustrating situation like "yay, I see an ammo crate there, let's go near it for a resupply! ...aaaaaand it's gone".
I prefer crates, because I often can't tell who really needs the ammo thrown to them.
It depends on the map and what your team is doing
Example
Tsaritsyn+inside=crate
Monte grappa+running with a sentry to a point=pouch
TBH i only picked crate for the nade refills. pouches don't refill nades, the just made timers faster. and in target-rich asian servers, having a nade ready is just as urgent as getting gadgets topped up
+Wolvenworks small packs refill grenades AND speed up the grenade refill timers!
SO
Medic is another story.
It actually depends on play style I’m more of a stationary support so I use the crate but offensive supports pouches gives ammo as you go
I always change... crates for snipers and for unlimited suppressive fire, pouches for assault tactics... sometimes i bring them both
+giacomo carrara true, leaving a crate next to a sniper and then having the discipline to not place another one for a while can be really helpful. Especially infinite K bullets can make even a sniper dangerous to vehicles
On maps without vehicles i grab both pouch and crate (if i desided to play support of course)
Awesome video man!
I was unaware that the pouch had instant refill. I was one of those that just assumed the crate was better.
Pouches : If you want to be fast and mobile with the ability to resupply quickly
Crates : If you want to help out multiple teammates without having to personally tend to them
Would like to know more info on the Limp Charge.
Ammo Crate
Best used in operations(defence), groups, and/or campers
Ammo Pouch
Best used when rushing and/or solo
Pouches are better for small games and squads, but in large servers I find I can't supply enough to keep up with my needs and my allies unless I take crates or both. I wonder if they will buff crates or nerf pouches like they did with grenades being instant filled.
I use both pouches and crates only for the medic because....
1. The pouch is for quick healing
2. The crate is for getting many score and heal teammates.
This is one of those things where it simply comes down to personal preference.
The crate is only useful to complete that one challenge by supplying so many times per game. ;)
id like to see the moartar variants next personally, especially since im not terribly well versed with them so i dont tend to use them much at all
