Just last night I was searching your channel for Japanese content because you have so much on the Rus, Ottomans, and French but I don't play any of those.... thank you brother!
I just started playing Japanese and figuring out when to age-up and when not is difficult for me. There usually seems some fighting in feudal against most civs, when do you think the Japanese breakpoint is when they become bad in feudal? English also has a bad eco and similar farms, yet they do well in extended feudals. Delhi lacks any direct eco bonus and loves to mass units. When is it apparent that the Japanese economy sucks? I guess the focus must be on gold units to benefit from the 20% extra ressources from mines.
Got clapped by this build one time. Every subsequent game (Ayyubid main) I would just rush castle and build 3 stables to spam camel lancers. Completely crushes Japan. Felt great to come up with a counter on my own.
I mean, yes, camels counter Mounted Samurai. The moment they add in onna mushas its a diff story. The point is not that mounted samurai wins everything, nothing does, a good player adapts. If you go 3 stables and opp doesnt change anything then yeah
I would really love an in guide quick summary of how to make this happen on water maps? Like if we random queue into a water should we just not even try this Japan FC?
Afaik uncontested water (Nagari, Danube, Forest Ponds, etc) you should get on water because you're the best civ at doing non-combative fishing. Afaik those ARE Japan's best maps.
