Great introduction! Some additional comments on the basic info from my side: 0:35 Serge is Russian/Chinese, born in France. He lived and worked quit a while in the US though. 2:18 Another think than Serge didn't like on the Buchla system was the fact that it used different patch sockets for audio and control voltages. 4:00 "Random*Source" or now "Serge Modular" is based in Frankfurt/Germany and build improved and modernized version of classic Serge designs as well as completely new Serge designs.
Bravo Ben! What an awesome overview which covered stuff that often gets overlooked (pos/neg slews). A true treasure trove and gift to the Serge community. Cool! Thank you.
Just picked up a random source eurorack set of modules and looking forward to using these videos to understand the serge philosophy. Thanks for making these videos!
cheers... we're having the next session on Wednesday... should be up online by early next week at the latest. We have limited time so it's really only scraping the surface of the system, but I plan on doing some work with the SSGs, patching up some feedback and diving into the DUSG and finding other uses for envelopes/slopes!
Thank you for sharing this Ben it's indispensable
Cool!
