I have always related to Hercules and The Little Mermaid for disney movies. as a kid and especially now that I'm older. they both long to be part of different worlds, in a place where they feel like they belong, and so do i. I feel so out of place with my family and where my mind is, my mind seems to never stop thinking. this cover brought be to tears. I've listened to it before but today I was feeling down and this cover made me cry tears of joy. Anna, I've been a fan for a while now and I just wanted to thank you. ♡

I know how you feel, I have those issues to, only I've always related to Hercules and Mulan. Hercules for finding out where I actually belong and Mulan to find out who I really am. So I had some tears in my eyes myself here as well :)

AlissaStylinson I know how you feel. This and Mulan's song Reflection I'm a transgender and I feel like both those songs fits me to the tee. The lyrics "If I were truly be myself I would break my family's heart." From Mulan's Reflection and in this song I truly yearn to be accepted by my family and the world I live in. I'm male yearning to be the goddess I dream of being.

I just assume that the characters are hardcore lesbians and call it a damn day.
I kinda get it because if the pronouns are changed from the originals, I'm like, hm. It jarred a bit because maybe there was a rhyming scheme. But if they're asking you to change it cuz they're uncomfortable that it sounds like a girl is singing to another girl, who the hell cares. It's lovely.

I came back to this song after a few years. When i first listened, i was a high schooler with depression and in a really bad place. Now, I'm about to propose to my girlfriend in my own place with a cat and I am getting a degree in marketing. I went the distance and I made it, and this song makes me really realize that.
