Jasmine and Aladin ofc love their son, and support him no matter what, so Mara makes gay marriage legal (via Reis wish) and gets the chance to have his Prince- so Mara and him work together to get the prince to fall in love with him (who is ALSO gay and has struggled all his life with fitting in) HOWEVER, Maras the only one who doesn't get to have what she wants, and finally comes clean to Rei. Rei of course explains that he DOES love her just...not in that way. For his final wish he grants her the ability to set herself free, whenever she chooses. You see, Mara adores being a genie most of the time- but shes never been able to love anyone because of it. So- whenever she's ready- when she meets HER prince, all she has to do is say the words "I love you" and she is no longer a genie. :D
Not gonna lie, for curiosity I opened this and the will smith version on two separate windows and played them side by side. Now it's a pain to sync since Will's version is slower and is slightly longer but for the most part it sounds amazing. Especially when syncing the last verse.
I can imagine a mini-short cartoon version of this and it might never come true but i really hope for a fan animation for this in TH-cam. I love this so much

I have been listening to this all day and I will admit that there are few tidbits I have an issue. I think this could have been done better. 0:35 would have been better if they sang separately, with Anna doing first part up to the drum and then Genie would have the second part. 0:44 here, it's the same thing. I don't mind the last part, just Genuflect, Show some respect. 0:50 The genie could have done this part solo, really, then comes Anna full on in 0:55. 1:04 Here, the same thing as above. 1:13 This was a Genie line, hands down. It's a real shame Anna didn't do the commentary lines at 1:25, or this exchange would have been glorious. Then the Genie could have done the 1:27 and it would be wonderful. 2:23 From here, Anna could have done the first part and the Genie would have done part two and the rest is glory, glory, glory. And that's about it. That's how I think this duet could have been done better, but what do I know? I'm just a nitpicker who just found this today and likes Disney songs.

I have been listening to this all day and I will admit that there are few tidbits I have an issue. I think this could have been done better.
0:35 would have been better if they sang separately, with Anna doing first part up to the drum and then Genie would have the second part.
0:44 here, it's the same thing. I don't mind the last part, just Genuflect, Show some respect.
0:50 The genie could have done this part solo, really, then comes Anna full on in 0:55.
1:04 Here, the same thing as above.
1:13 This was a Genie line, hands down.
It's a real shame Anna didn't do the commentary lines at 1:25, or this exchange would have been glorious. Then the Genie could have done the 1:27 and it would be wonderful.
2:23 From here, Anna could have done the first part and the Genie would have done part two and the rest is glory, glory, glory.
And that's about it. That's how I think this duet could have been done better, but what do I know? I'm just a nitpicker who just found this today and likes Disney songs.
