A Little Disney History: From humble beginnings as a cartoon studio in the 1920s to its preeminent name in the entertainment industry today, Disney proudly continues its legacy of creating world-class stories and experiences for every member of the family. - บันเทิง
The most underrated thing about this movie, is that Hercules' earth parents raised him and Hercules gave back to them when he became rich and famous. He gave them a temple. One of the most overlooked actions of Hercules.
I know. That was awesome.
Really? Man I can't remember that scene at all...
@@ManFromTheFizz I was during the Zero to Hero Song
Absolutely - he realises and appreciates their role in his upbringing and does what any dutiful son should in return in trying to return what he owes them
So Disney used Hercules to tell a Superman story
The 90s was a great era for disney
Yet not a popular one, sadly..
@@yourmom66600 indeed...
Omg yes
Yes
It’s called the Disney Renaissance for a reason :)
The way he says "I know every mile, will be worth my while" at 0:37 is just so deep that I always end up shedding a tear at that part.
what thats it means?
Listen to Peyton Parrish sing this song. He sings it with passion!
Me too🥺
@@Unknow-gs7rb Roger Bart was the best.
@@mavidesu7110 The journey and its hardships are worth it
If they EVER decide to give Hercules a live action remake It better be top notch. This is one of my favorite movies of all time.
da gingerbread boi I think the Rock already checked off that box 😂😂
Kerry Smith I meant this specific version
@@josht6375 The rock can't be Hercules. Hercules doesn't wear military shorts and a sweaty tshirt

da gingerbread boi honestly I think it’s the only one that it should have one
I swear as a kid I thought this song was so cheesy but as an adult this is my go-to pick me up
stingraykat820 I remember not liking this one at all as a kid, and this was one of my favourite movies.
Now that I’ve grown up, or more aptly put, gone the distance, I can appreciate the message so much better.
@@ZakanaHachihaCBC it's ironic, because as a kid we sometimes like the cheesy songs lol
I really hated this song because in Russia they translate and voiceover the cartoons, can you imagine that?
I didn't understand or care for this song as a kid but now as an adult I love it and understand it.
Oh hells yeah
*pushes down fully grown tree* SOMEHOW ILL BE STRONG
HAHA I LOVE YOU
Like he isn't strong enough already.
HAHAHAHA TRUE
Well it’s like Superman and goku. There both already strong to begin with but there still untapped potential in them. But yeah it is weird him saying that while pushing down the tree.
*somehow*
Disney's Hercules is a criminally underappreciated masterpiece.
Under appreciated? It’s in Kingdom Hearts series, games and manga! It’s in House of Mouse, and other books.
@@jennikifm2
It’s not generally regarded as highly as Lion King or Beauty & The Beast though, which is what I think the OP means
I agree that it should be!
@@coyotelong4349Yes, that's what I meant.
Agreed.
@@Chris_BurdickFR. Beyond the amazing movie as a whole the soundtrack and spin off Disney channel series are also under appreciated.
As a kid who felt alone and emotionally neglected this song spoke to me in ways I can't explain as a kid. It's a deep feeling and all the love I had to give that was wasted, the love I still had. Finding where you feel loved and where you belong . This is why Hercules is my favorite Disney movie. Hercules reminds me of myself in all the sweet ways

You made me teary. You will find love.

U den made me tear up love i hope you find the love you deserve 😭❤️
The length of that note on the final "belong" was pretty impressive.
Roger Bart sings it! He's like a Broadway star!
It’s not impossible, I just did it. But he must have impeccable breath control because I took a breath at “Right” and I have no clue when he last took one
@@graceattberry8844 Yeah man, and I like to use my head voice when it comes to holding that note. It works every time. every time.
It was ab 20 counts not too bad

I think that it is a very underated song.
It was nominated for an Oscar if i'm not mistaken. It lost to My Heart Will Go On from Titanic.
Nah that would be Son of man

This is definitely up there, but I think 'Out there' from The hunchback of Notre dame takes top spot for me

One of the most moving and touching songs ever written. '90s Disney is simply untouchable.

This is my favourite disney movie. The narrators (the ladies with the white dresses) are the most happiest people I've ever seen 😯
Cat goes crazy the Muses
Cat goes crazy I love the Muses! Especially the fat one!
Cat goes crazy THE SASSY MUSE THOUGH
Cat goes crazy Yes it's too bad we never got to see the rest of their sisters. The Muses are actually a group of 9 sisters.
Akshat Shah you could have said a better word than fat
When I first saw the movie at age 8 I just thought this was a pretty good song.
As I've gotten older, I've found that it resonates more and more to me. Especially the first verse.
I was in the foster care system when I heard this song played on a VHS player. I always thought it was a perfect song for the kids like me who looked for a place to belong.. you do belong! You are worthy of love.
Honestly, overtime I listen to this song when i feel lost in my life, it gets me, gets my eyes water, but I feel so great and hopeful about anything.
exactly.
Hercules makes the beginning of the song so relatable, I feel like I mess up everything with the people I care about and so, I love this song.
Natalie and I will be there at the same time I don't have a car so I can get a ride to the airport on Friday and I will be there at the same time I don't have a car so I can get a ride to the airport on Friday and I will be there at the same time I don't have a car so I can get a ride to the airport on Friday and I will be there at the same time I don't have a car so I can get a ride to the airport on Friday and I will be there at the same time I don't have a car so I can get a ride to the airport on Friday and I will be there at the same time I don't have a car so I can get a ride to the airport on Friday and I will be there at the same time I don't have a car so I can get a ride to the airport on Friday and I will be there at the same time I don't have a car so I can get a ride to the airport on Friday and I will be there at the same address
As a young adult now...this song means so much because sometimes I don't know what my future career, house, or job will be like and its scary. But this song is very reassuring.
I have often dreamed
Of a far off place
Where a great warm welcome
Will be waiting for me
Where the crowds will cheer
When they see my face
And a voice keeps saying
This is where I'm meant to be
I will find my way
I can go the distance
I'll be there someday
If I can be strong
I know every mile
Will be worth my while
I would go most anywhere
To feel like I belong
I am on my way
I can go the distance
I don't care how far
Somehow I'll be strong
I know every mile
Will be worth my while
I would go most anywhere
to find where I belong
I will beat the odds
I can go the distance
I will face the world
Fearless, proud, and strong
I will please the gods
I can go the distance
Till I find the Hero's welcome
Right where I belong
Has anyone here successfully held that final note?
Sr_Platano_ *goes the distance (pun fully intended) and then makes a comment about that goofy thumbnail*
I passed out trying to
Meeee!
I'm a girl so I had to sing an octave higher. I'm working on holding it longer but so far, no haha.
I try but always run out of breath and have to stop, haha.
The scene at the ending of the movie where he became mortal and ran back to his adoptive parents just melted my heart
Am I the only one who just now realizing how good this song is? Growing up I never thought much of this song. As an adult I think it's the best song in the film and one of the best Disney songs.
Far from it! This song is insane! It’s one of the most inspiring, hopeful and motivational songs out there. My favorite part of the song is the long note being sung for “belong” as Hercules soars towards the sunrise. How poetic! It’s the dawn of a new journey!
This movie just shows that their are different types of strength.
Physical strength is important but emotional strength is just as important
The animation in this movie is so stunning!
that sucks
sorry :-(
Cathy Umlauf-Schulz for its time it was amazing.
I always tested up listening to this music and watching the scene. It was so affective.
"Till I find my hero's welcome RIGHT! WHEERE IIII BEEEELOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" The way Roger Bart belts that last line and holds it that long is just chillingly amazing.

just found out that Robert Bart sang the original recording (the one you'll hear in the film) for this song. Mind Blown. Such an incredible voice.
Go The Distance is such a beautiful song from Hercules. I especially love the part where Hercules sings up to the stars in the night sky because Mount Olympus is up in the sky on a mountain and he’s singing to his biological god family.
Such a powerful song and amazing message !!! Hercules is a true masterpiece !
Let's talk about how 0:19 and 2:02 is the same sun but in the latter part Herc was already flying with Pegasus. Gives me chills. I really love this movie
This song really resonates with me... I guess in someway... My life can be likened to that of Hercules... I've always had this inner feeling that there's more that what I see now.. that life is definitely more than what we see now..
I don’t know why this movie isn’t the favourite of more people. It will forever be the Disney number 1 for me.
I loved it when I was a kid already. Now that I’m 30 and traveled as much as I can to find the place where I belong , then wanting to come back home after all, and then look again… I understand the more profound meaning of Hercules’ arc. Forever the best one for me❤
I had a huge crush on him when I was little lol. Hopefully, I'll find someone like him :) (a demigod who owns a Pegasus and has super strength)
Same girl
Same sis!! ❤❤
I'm practically like him I'll say but more faster and stronger as he is.
Percy Jackson?? 😂😂
Same! Hercules was my first Disney crush💕
The real stories aren't so kid friendly ya know
True, which is why Disney edits them to be kid friendly, like how they gave The Little Mermaid a happy ending.
Hera wasn't Hercules's mother, I'm pretty sure they hated each other
Also, she cursed him to murder his family.
Luna Space I don't know if he was really cursed. He probably just suffered from extreme bipolar depression.
Luna Space I don't know if he was really cursed. He probably just suffered from extreme bipolar depression. Because it's not a one-time event. There are repeated signs of these violent mood swings in his story. Maybe that WAS the curse.
I legit have an entire half sleeve of Hercules, since I was a kid I’ve loved this movie and his story, even as I write this this song has me crying yet again, just a boy who wanting to prove himself and find his purpose in a world with no one else like him, then the ones he grew with as his parents (who are still his parents) told him somewhere, he has a goal. Make the gods proud. His family, and become the greatest hero in Greece 😭🥰
As a person who’s from the 2000s I must say kids from 90s should be proud the era they lived in cause it was magical experience that modern world doesn’t have.
why am i crying with all these disney songs ;( every word's so meaningful
its because they spelled every wrong (evry)
I know right me too
Is it just me or does the thumbnail look like Hercules just had a really good dump?

The King of Ylisse well he left after his parents told him the next day, you can tell because it’s night then day when he leaves his house so yea

1:40-2:23 gives me actual chills.
Vaguely remember seeing this in theaters when it first came out, loved the film and song to death. Repeatedly watched it on VHS too (to my parents annoyance😅).
Haven't seen or heard either in about 15 years, but maybe it's time for a rewatch, as this song is hitting me in ways it never did before as I'm turning 30 soon.
Always loved the crystal-clear pronunciation and technique of Disney vocalists too. Long live Disney💪🎉

Ever since I graduated high school this year, this has been my theme song for finding where I belong and what I should do.
UNbeleivable ending by Roger Bart talk about SUSTAINING. Fantastic!
I love when the lyrics follow things on screen. Feels much nicer than the words just appearing on screen and sitting there.
I seriously thought that the vocals were layered when Herc sings the "Belong" high note (at 2:02), but he actually just locked perfectly with the music for a brief moment.
After years of awful jobs I finally found one that feels exactly like this song. I can't describe how much I feel like Hercules rn. I've found my people, it's magical
Every year I realize more and more how much this movie was my beacon of hope as a kid. I was this kid.
I worked hard to get a good degree from a great school. I am dedicated, but I can't find a good job. It stresses me out. It makes me feel bad for so many reasons. This song reinforces my belief that I'll shine, I just need an opportunity.
How's it going with you? Wish you all the best
How are you now?
This song makes me emotional 🥲
This is a superb song for Hercules. Truly inspirational and I think it’s timely as of today’s changing world that we are living in and each of us are on the process of adapting.
I loved this song as a kid and now as an adult it makes me cry a little because I realize that I really resonate with the lyrics, trying to find where I belong.
this song got no business being this good like the emotions and tone is just everything especially when he gets to the climax part
sheet makes me tear a bit, truly a song for anyone that aspires to strive for bigger and greater things in life.
Roger Bart is another underrated singer❤
0:45 Fun Fact: The tradition of wishing on stars actually comes from the ancient Greeks, they believed that shooting stars were a sign of the gods peering through the heavens to look down on humanity, so if you prayed then there was a higher chance they would hear and answer your prayers.
Which makes this moment all the better because it means it's Zeus looking down on his son and answering him immediately after.
I loved watching this as a kid🥲
Hercules is such an underrated movie

Ive always loved this song but i loved it even more when yr ago i found out Roger Bart (american actor) was Hercules singing voice ☺. I love that guy.
Imagine an animated movie released 2 decades ago and still gives us so much emotion to this day...GOD I LOVE CLASSIC DISNEY
Hercules has similarities with Superman and I Love it.

Legitimately the only reason I’m a good person is old Disney.
A hero's journey is never complete until he reaches his destination, looks back & realizes he's gone the distance, beat the odds and is now truly where he belongs
I can relate to this song but a girl 's point of view, feeling like I'd don't belong, misunderstood and trying to help people with out judging me and take advantage of me and different from rest of the 🌎,but on the Journey like Hercules I'd found real friends accept me for who I am without some body trying to change me. 💘 this song and movie. and like Hercules would say I can go the distance!
