Celts did not influenced in anything the people that lived in this Land. The Lusitanian tribes had their own and unique divinities, unique Castros where you dont find anywhere in France or Britain. Instead, the ones that really influenced and established colonies, were the Hellenics, centuries before the Romans. There were also minor Egyptian communities and of course, the native tribes. Celts? Nothing. That is French and British propaganda in order to say they colonize and were the generators of the Lusitanian. Pure lies. Lusitanian tribes had writing system, that is language writen, coming from primitive Greek.
I’ve been to Portugal twice I’ve been in almost every country in Europe but my favourite country is Portugal the history the physical beauty is calling me I just hope it won’t be over touristed
Lisbon is ruined. Same with Porto, i guess. One goes to downtown Lisbon at any given evening and you will be hard pressed to find a single portuguese among the crowds. Some still wait tables, or drive taxis, but even those are becoming scarcer. I may be exaggerating a bit, but not a lot.
Too late. Muslims and brazilians are invading our country. Rents are through the roof. People can't afford a house to live. prices are sky high. It's only good for rich tourists.

Portugal did Not discover the world. They enslaved & stole from indigenous intellectual peoples of the world. Stop getting it twisted. That adobe home comes from African architecture & those castles, libraries, museums came from the Moors (African) that you erased from your history books.

In 1488 Dias was the first European to sail to my country South Africa and around what he called the Cape of Storms. They really were absolutely remarkable sailors and discoverers. Portugal looks beautiful with so much history, wonderful architecture and natural beauty. Thank you for this wonderful documentary.

Thank you for bringing us an absolutely wondrous compilation of Portugal's natural beauty and it's rich history, and especially for treating it with the utmost respect.
I'm portuguese and for me there are places I love that the author of the video doesn't mention. They are are in the extreme north of the country, for instance, Viana do Castelo, Gerês, Caminha, Ponte de Lima... Even so, this video is very well done and is very good!
Braga, Belmonte, Trás-os-Montes, Coimbra, Aveiro, Almeida, Monsaraz, Tomar (Terra dos Templários), Belmonte, Monumentos megalíticos do Alentejo (Almendres, mais antigo que o Stonehenge 2000 anos), etc., etc., etc.! Temos tantos paraísos!
Some people resent English speakers, and frankly I can see why very clearly. Americans and British visitors are generally the 2 most rude groups, with attitudes of entitlement that are very offensive.

Thank you for this video. Superb. Just an observation: You mentioned it took so many years to complete when in fact, The Mosteiro da Batalha was never completed.
Theres nowhere on the planet now which hasn't been overtouristed!! Lucky for me ive done most of my travelling when nobody was travelling, early 80s and 92 I travel now to keep my wife happy,i certainly dont do it for myself
I wish so much that I had traveled more in those times, when I was stronger, healthier, happier, and more athletic, as well as when things were more unspoiled in comparison to now. Life did not do me any favors, so I will never see most of the places and things I wanted to. But it's better to watch it on here than not at all. I know that now the overuse by too many people of most of the places that were once very special has turned them into worn out tourist traps. What a shame! The desire for dollars has overcome any other values that people once held. Greed is the number 1 common denominator now. But your wife is very lucky that you go with her and do your best to help her enjoy things as much as possible. VERY lucky indeed! I never had that. Bravo to you! And best wishes to you both for many happy travels. ❤
Nice video! And thank you for showcasing the beauty of my country! I just wanted to point out that, between minute 30:56 and 31:21 you are showing a different aquaduct than the one in Elvas - it is the Aqueduto do Convento de Cristo, also known as Aqueduto dos Pegões, in the templar city of Tomar. Cheers
Fabulous photography! And I like the narrator’s voice - although it would be nice if he didn’t pronounce the Portuguese names as if they were Spanish. It’s a bit confusing that the film hops back and forth from mainland Portugal to the Azores as if they were close together, though - and what is Gibraltar doing in the film?? But anyway a very beautiful film and thank you!
Yeah…you’re totally right! This is a beautifully done video of my country but a bit (to say the least) out of place geographically! The geographic order of these places is not the best and the reference to Gibraltar is totally wrong.
Portugal seems to be 1 of the best places to see, but the accents drive me nuts, whether they are speaking Portugese or English, but especially Portugese. I know people will think I'm an intolerant American, but I'm not intolerant or American. I worked for many years with a lot of immigrants from all over the world, and I loved working with them! I learned how to communicate with people from everywhere who had very limited English. To a large extent it's a matter of listening skills. I just don't care for the sound of the very gutteral way that many native Portugese (who live here) pronounce things. There is a similar thing with some Arabic speakers, but I found that most Arabic speakers themselves discourage the guttural pronunciations. I guess I will need to go to Portugal and spend enough time to see if I am right or wrong. Maybe I have an unreasonable prejudice. If so, I need to fix It. I mean no offence to anyone. I recognize that it could just be that I have developed a skewed view of this. After English the language I am the most familiar with is French. They are both Latin languages, but they are probably the 2 most divergent ones. I should learn to speak a little bit of Portugese. (Or even a lot, if possible!)
It's missing the biggest natural reserve in the country called Gerês, the Chapel of Bones in Évora and even more like the Laurel Forest in Madeira. Regardless, a lot of beautiful images that make it easy to pinpoint the beauty of a particular location to a foreigner. Good video!
Beautiful documentary, very well done, but i think you just fail for don´t show one of the most beautiful part of the contry, the magical Serra do Gerês.
the moorish castle shown is in Sintra and not in Gibraltar as commented and we can see on the far right the Vila de Sintra with its palace; also the moorish castle is inside the park od Palace of Pena
When we see PORTUGAL mentioned , its means "Vamos CARALHO" Yes, we got a very beautiful country , but the people from govermn could do much better for do lives of people better and because of people coming from all places in the world to enjoy and to get some holiday time etc , the prices are increasing , so , is getting more and more expensive to go to holidays in our own country. Is more cheap sometimes going to other countrys instead of for example going to Algarve...
you're right! Those are the "Fiords" of Arrábida, a beatiful natural park, some 50 kms south of Lisbon, where one of the Bond movies (Lazemby, I think) was filmed
stunning visuals and v. interesting, but surely would have been best to check Portuguese pronunciations before recording VO a little cringey , still enjoyed it x
