I thought this was going to be a video about how miniature painters suffer because of our folklore about fast painting. The first few seconds helped me see that I had not parsed the title correctly.

Ha, I like it better this way than what I thought it would be ;)

I see this video was posted 2 years ago so hopefully I'll get an answer to my question. What scale would you say these miniatures are? They seem larger than say wizkids or reaper bones. More like space marine height. Thanks 👍

You're right, they are 'heroic' scale, close to recent Games Workshop stuff.

Nice tutorial, I hope to use it on my copy of The Others, Seven Sins. It has stayed primed for too long.

I finished the core set pretty quickly. I've done a video on techniques used painting it but it's one of my Patreon $5+/month supporter bonus videos! Played The Others tonight. Great game, if a bit grueling.

Abstolutely awesome video. Gotta say though, that glossy varnish coat at 10:40 completely ruined the minis for me, they were looking much better with matte colors without the varnish (I know it's for protection and sealing, but matte varnish usually looks much better, glossy just depends of what you wanna do with the mini I guess)

It definitely looks glossier than it does in real life (it's actually semi gloss) because of the lighting. But I personally find matte finish minis look a bit dull and flat, and that the touch of gloss lifts and brightens the colours a bit. Just a matter of taste! Also note that I am just throwing these ones crammed together in a box, so the harder varnish is a good idea in this case.

@@EsotericOrderGamers indeed! any varnish is better than no varnish any day, no one wants all that paint work going to waste :)

I know it's hard, it is for me too, but I reckon once it's on the table and you're playing the game, you forget that you left the belt the same colour as the pants. :)
