I been looking for this recipe my mom used to make them along with my grandmother. My grandmother made them over her stove with a pizzle iron.I never got the recipe from them before they passed away. Looking forward to making them .
All the while I’m watching your video I can hear “Time to make the pizzelles!” in my head but in the voice of the old man from those old Dunkin Donuts commercials! 😂 I make these only one a year and a lot of them, so just came here to remind myself of all the steps. Thank for the video! Liked and subbed.
Instead of using your finger when dropping the dough mixture - you can use a small spatula dampen with a little butter or vegetable oil - comes out beautifully. 😊
I use my finger didn’t work for me with a spatula. And with my iron it takes about 30 seconds, but each arm is going to be different just like your oven.
I am about to try pizzelles for the first time! Do you only spray the pizzelle iron at the beginning, or do you have to spray every few cookies? Or is there enough butter in the cookies to suffice?
These are pretty, but, not authentic Pizzelles,. This type or Pizzelle is more like Wonder Bread vs good home made bread, or Microwave Pizza vs a Pizza cooked in a pizza oven. Authentic Pizzelles are made from dough rather than batter, You have to love the Americans and their electric kitchen machines or you can make real, authentic food.
It could have been a slice of wonder bread thrown into the pizzelle maker and powdered sugar on top. What’s your point? When you have to mix ALL the ingredients to get a dough or batter, it’s considered HOMEMADE! You know…. Homemade as in a real pizza cooked in a pizza oven!!!! Did you take your meds today?
My Italian neighbor used to give me a few of these about once a year. I loved them

If you put the dough in the refrigerator for. few hours it's easier to work with

I grew up in an Italian community and this is the kind of pizzelles (pronounce Pete’s Ellie) I had. Even the pizzelle iron is the same!!
Awesome! I’m going to also put orange rind in mine. Not a lot but enough.
still with anise?
Does anyone use Anise seeds also? That’s the original way!
My grandma actually did, I just had oil on hand.
you should get a small ice cream scooper....oil it.....goes so much quicker
THIS IS THE RIGHT RECIPE!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you Rocco they look delicious! 😋
Going to try this recipe, the damp towel, and a single spoon. I put my spoon in a glass to keep the handle clean.

Love u ur from Michigan right papi Rocco?? Seen u before LOL!
Hey! No I’m originally from upstate NY by Buffalo
How come you don’t use anise seeds in your recipe?
Just because I had anise oil on hand.
@@roccoskitchen8302 Is Anise oil the same as Anise Extract (Like Vanilla Extract?)
The clip on the iron handle holds the top down, you don't need to hold it.
It seemed to be a little too tight when I tried it
@roccoskitchen8302 I have the same iron and it works fine. Try it at least once, you'll see.
I have a similar machine; clip is too tight. Cookies turn out having holes in them.
I don’t have a clip on my iron. I put a 5 pound exercise weight on top of it while it’s cooking.

I only do in the beginning
Positively painful watching you scoop that with a spoon and your finger. A cookie scoop would be a great investment.
I promise it didn’t hurt
Please let me know What type of spray are you using? Yours are coming out perfect. :) Mine are sticking.
I believe it was Pam.
@@roccoskitchen8302 thank you very much. 👍
@@roccoskitchen8302 My neighbors named their baby girl "Non-Stick Cooking Spray" because they thought the name "Pam" was too common! 🙂
Yay! New Rocco content!!!
In the video he calls for a half a pound of butter but in the written instructions it calls for one cup. Which is correct?
Half a pound is equal to 8 ounces which is equal to one cup.
@@SoCOJules duh…I knew that. Don’t know what I was thinking. One cup is two sticks as well as a half a pound. Thanks for setting me straight. Lol
Sorry about that it’s a half lb so should be about 1 cup
And just saw someone already answered ya haha

Get rid of that garbage in your years and on your skin, earrings and tattoos.
Are you here for how to make a pizzelle or to critique the guy making them?
Geesh grandma. "And stay off my lawn, too!"
