We have explained every component of the system to help you get a clear understanding of CRDI and how it is beneficial over the traditional fuel injection systems.
You might have noticed the word CRDI (Common Rail Direct Injection) in many car advertisements and wondered what it is. CRDI consists of a common line, known as a rail, which supplies fuel to the individual injectors at a higher pressure.
Apart from this, CRDI also reduces emission and fuel consumption resulting in higher power and efficiency. Watch the full video to get a quick idea about CRDI.

the pressure regulator connected in front of fuel pump is nothing but metering valve i think bro

Is this technology used in both petrol and diesel engines?
Yes but mostly used in CI Engines
Mpfi used in si engine and crdi is used only in ci engine

This isn't a bad concept. If hyundai and kia could use better materials to construct their vehicles, this would work even better. Affordable vehicles lack one thing and that's reliability. The more expensive vehicles (Toyota, Volvo, Lexus etc.) are known for being reliable. Pair a good CRDI engine with a reliable body and you'll get one of the best cars known to mankind.

Your car most likely was a GDI engine. Common rail direction injection essentially meant a that fuel comes in a single line and is split into all the cylinders. That is, it exists in both Diesel and Gasoline Multi-Cylinder engines. However, CRDI generally is used in the context of Diesel engines. Hope this helps!

Gasoline engines have another option, i.e., mpfi (multi point/port fuel injection, which is actually a common rail throttle body injection). The rail is not as robust as crdi because throttle body injection won't require that much pressure. Example: Daewoo Cielo.
Crdi was invented by raman kumar in 1960
Advantages of crdi.... Computers...
Old injection pump....no computers.

@@dhocris7studio the 12 valve Cummins is mechanical so that motor will run with no computer
Computers are great to throw a tuner on and not have to wrench. But when it has to take in effect all the sensors it's a flop.
