Thanks for sharing! Hubby and I attempted to tour the inside a number of times: after Christmas and on Labor Day, both times unsuccessfully:(. We didn't know we had to reserve tickets in advance, so definitely will arrange for a #3 attempt, hopefully in the summer.
Thank you so much for making this video. My sister visited the USA and made a video of the outside of the castle but there are now notices inside the castle saying - do not make videos. She makes videos because I am disabled and unable to travel and this way I can see the places I can no longer visit. God bless you. Rome
I’m designing the costume for a production of “The Game’s Afoot” and this is very helpful. More than anything it gives me a wonderful color palette to work with.
Over 30 years since I was last inside the Castle and at least half that, the time I visited before. The upper levels displayed the art gallery and the top most level was being renovated and was in disrepair due to weathering and cats. I believe the park closes to visitors around Thanksgiving. It would be pleasant, for just a brief afternoon, to be in the castle on a snowy, still day with a fireplace, brandy and a friend.
before the indoor was opened to the public a few years ago, there used to be a curved bench in the front balcony of the house, facing the Connecticut river. That bench is gone. I believe it has been "taken" by someone who was part of the restoration. I wonder who should I contact to raise that concern. I have visited the place several times and it is like an eyesore to see that spot empty. I even have pictures of it when it still existed.

About the same for me I grew up in New Britain and my grandmother used to always take us here
East Haddam is by far one of the very best towns in the United States.
That whole area including Lyme,Hadlyme,Deep River,Chester,Essex,Old Saybrook. I grew up here and still in the area.
Did you have to follow a tour, or were you allowed to roam thru & take pictures? How much does it cost? So beautiful

Is there a kitchen?
Nice, but you should told some of the story behind the castle.
