A good radiator guard will have more mud buildup. You are installing the aftermarket rad guard to stop debris from damaging the radiator. As a rule, they have more area blocked. Regular cleaning is required. - Frank
Great update. The FuelX lite is my only engine mod, and it made the low speed much better for me, but i only have done road and gravel and a dirt road. Never gotten over 50+ mpg, but just hit my 600 mile service light. No riding for the rest of this year. Knee replacement this morning
@@advinjapan it will be 3 weeks Tuesday the 8th. I still have to work a bunch more movement back into it. I mostly have trouble sleeping. I figured out that pain pills don’t work for me. It is getting better daily.
I'm curious, what are your impressions of the fuelx, Frank? I find it hard to believe a nice guy like you would be kicked off. I have both the air box lid and FuelX Lite as well. I do all road driving because where I live in Ohio, I can't find any trails yet. I mainly like the posture of an adv bike, that's my main reason for buying one. I did find a K&N style OEM filter to compliment the DNA lid. Hopefully it performs as good as a K&N. I live in an area that is pretty clean, so regular cleaning and oiling the filters should protect my engine just fine. Still waiting on the filter. For less than half price of the K&N, I have to wait for delivery from China. I too love the combo of the DNA lid and FuelX Lite. I also bought a small cheap muffler that is basically just a straight pipe without the baffle. All three parts have awakened the power and sound of this bike . I like the louder sound. It's not obnoxious like a Harley but it makes you bike sound a bit meaner and not like a glorious moped 😂. At 7k rpm it still fairly quiet as long as you don't crack the throttle open. That’s great Allen, I like your setup. I’m in the market for a cheap slip on myself and maybe a mid pipe to get rid of the heavy (and virtually useless) resonator. Good luck with finding trails, I’m sure they are out there, just have look around.
@@advinjapan thanks, your setup is nice too. How did you end up in Japan? You have a professional sounding voice, are you in broadcasting or something? I left the cat on and the big resonator. I may do a cat/resonator delete eventually but don't really see the reason to as of yet. 🙏

Hey, Nice video. I know you're busy, so I'll keep this brief. I'm interested in the status of the FuelX Lite and DNA filters. Given a choice between the two, what do you recommend to have first if one cannot go for both simultaneously? Could you suggest the following: FuelX Lite or a regular air filter from BMC or K&N?
Hey, thanks. Either of those will probably work. I personally like DNA filters. As long as you stick with an in box filter, you won’t need the fuelx lite. That said, I highly recommend the fuelx lite as it will greatly improve the low end performance of the bike.
Thanks for the update. I'm going with the fuel x lite with the stock lid, aftermarket high flow filter with a pre filter mod. What filter do you recommend?
Dude Japan is so beautiful. Your filming and everything is perfect too!! Just a quick question. Does your headlight assembly wanna rattle itself to death with that gps holder and phone. I have the same holder and either I'll quit or my headlight assembly will. quit.
Thanks DHMH! I’m really enjoying this whole adventure, including the filming. I’m not having any particular issues. Have you checked to make sure all the bolts are securely tightened? I know the two bolts on each side of the holder can be a hassle to get in there properly. Sorry I’m not much more help than that. In any case, the bike is very loud to begin with, rattles all over the place, so there is that.
My bike is in deep water too often for the DNA filter. I do run a K&N with the stock cover, which does an excellent job of keeping the water out. - Frank
Hi I have a question , would you write or send a link where you bought the windshield? I would like to ask because in the video on the steering wheel on the left and right side some devices would you write what it is?
Hi, thanks for the comment! The windshield is from Aliexpress. Just search, “KTM 390 adventure rally winshield” and it should pop up. The devices on the handlebars are a GoPro remote control and a control for my insta 360 camera.
