INDRAYANI I Award winning Nepal bhasa short movie I Luti Ajima I
Hungry kids ask their mother for food but the mother had to feed them with calculation. the kids ask if they could go to their maternal home for better food. but the mother remembers how she was insulted by her own mother by inviting them on the next day of the feast. Her mother tells that all her sisters were wealthy and she could not bear how her sisters mock her poverty. Indrayani then realizes because of her poverty her own mother discriminates her. the story then takes a turn when her husband returns home after 3 years earning enough money. The news spreads and the family is invited for the feast but the mother rebels against the societal norms saying that she was invited only because they were rich and she puts all the ornaments in the plate saying that her mother invited them only because of the ornaments. so she is feeding the feast to the ornaments Indrayani is worshiped as a goddess in Nepal. there is a festival solely to worship the goddess only also worshiped as luti ajima

The Newari language should be recognized as a classical language of Nepal. It has its own script , rich heritage and old literature. In India also Tamil, Telegu,Oridya,Kannada, Malayalam, Sanskrit languages are considered as classical language.In addition to the Bengalis, the Bengalis are also seeking the classical status of their language in India.In Europe also Latin,Greek are considered as classical language. These languages literatural tradition is old and are not borrowed from other languages . In Nepal ,Newari language has followed all the creteria to be considered as classical language. It is important for Newaris to stand up for their language to be classified as classical language.

Good attempt...I just did not like the costumes and accessories of the artists. I believe the story sets hundreds of years ago Newa settlement but the dress and ornaments not at all convincing and look very modern. At least the team could have done a little research, they could have used the traditional ornaments and dress instead of designed jewelleries and banarasi saris...
