I rolled my handlebars up quite a bit, and it made ergonomics even better, and mirrors have more adjustment. Putting Grip Puppies on to minimize any buzz. I'm loving it so far.
I got to ride one yesterday, the first thing I did was see if it would take off without giving it gas. Worked perfectly. RE really has fixed all the things the 411 had issues with.
Thanks for the view of all the himis, fuzzy. Mine's one of the poppy blue ones, will be picking it up very soon! Looking forward to doing a lot of riding everywhere on it!
I really dig them, all the Enfields are great bikes. I've test ridden a few and my only problem, as with many bikes, is being 6'3" I find them a bit cramped for distance work. However, riding the local back roads they are HUGE fun!
Thanks. Probably my next bike. My Hunter 350 is great for my little commute to work but I want this for distance and exploring off road. Lead design guy said they adjusted the sag on the rear shock just before production but they had already started making the side stands. May be updated in the future.
Regarding the side stand / lean angle, you can find a video on TH-cam (I think from the UK) where the bike’s lead designer is taking questions about it and they said that you have to lock in the design for the side stands relatively early in the bike’s design (so that they can be manufacture en masse) and then they had some late design changes which raised the bike and it ended up leaning over more than it was supposed to. You’ll probably be able to buy the updated (longer?) side stand when the model gets an update. Or maybe there’ll be aftermarket versions.
@@iraxef1 There's also a video of riders in India where they show the advantage of this kick stand. They ride on the other side of the road and because of the inclination on the side of the road the bike will actually stand better. RE should correct this though.
The RE engineer stated that the extreme lean angle was due to late changes to frame after kick stand already planned and neglected to change the stand. Future years will correct the short stand.
@@forgottenmotorcycles I wonder if the bike can do a million miles in a year, the engine might fail then. I mean you can do it alone, may be rent it out for long distance trips to others, keep it on road every day. With breaks only for regular service.
Man, you're answering a lot of good questions I had and questions I didn't think of. I have heard nothing but good, well reasoned, things about the 452 Himalayan. This bike is legit for real off road and real high/freeway riding.
Thank you 🙂 I am working on a list of not so great things about the bike. Should be on a video soon. Having said that, totally love this thing 🙂 Wahoo!
It’s a great looking bike in profile. From the cockpit even the large windshield looks clownishly small. Maybe it’s a GoPro thing though. That’s the thing I’ve noticed ever since the bike was released in India.
@@forgottenmotorcycles On the west coast we're only given the option for Aluminum Mags in the preorder. There's no word on the time frame for the tubeless spokes. Thanks for the info
I would. The KLR is a fabulous, proven motorcycle that will do the job. This new Himalayan 452 is built to do the same but still has to prove itself. But yes, I would definitely do the Himalayan.
The new Himalayan is nice. However, two things that keep me from upgrading from my 411 are the Ride by Wire and the TFT display. I prefer cable throttle and analog gauges. Too many electronic features on the 450. I just prefer simplicity.
I also don't like the bolt on sub frame. The KLR 650 used to have one and it had a tendency for failure becoming loose or breaking. Kawasaki went away from it and doesn't have that issue anymore.
I did install the seat concept tall firm seat on my 411. The new 452 has a seat very much like the seat concept seat and comfortable. Having said that, if seat concepts comes out with the seat for this bike, and it's taller, I shall buy it.
Frame failed in two cases with almost 50,000 bikes sold. Both of those bikes had aftermarket crash bars installed and wrecked without proper torque specs. Go buy a KTM.

I'll have to try that bike with the grip puppies. Double wahoo!

I like the looks of the previous generation so much more. With that, I would still look at one and test ride it. Good review.
Love the old and the new. Wahoo!

i am getting 26kmpl or 75 gal on mine after a rough ride and more than 30kmpl on highways all the time. i had it for 6 months.
Very good!
I agree completely! I have the Hamle black. Awesome.

Wait for sometime Himalayan 650cc is going to come as it is testing on Indian highway. With advance features with affordable cost.
Nice!
In the mountains it is nice to have a shorter kickstand.
I've heard that. Thanks
For someone who is new to riding... Why is that?
Greetings from India
Hello from Iowa
It’s a great looking bike in profile. From the cockpit even the large windshield looks clownishly small. Maybe it’s a GoPro thing though. That’s the thing I’ve noticed ever since the bike was released in India.
I would like a larger windshield, for sure. Especially with all the long miles of ride.
So they are finally distributing in the USA as far west as Nebraska with the spoked wheels?
Yes. I think they all have spoke wheels. Later a tubeless spoke option will be out.

I understand what you're saying. Still, take the new one out for a ride. Wahoo!
If it had cruise control it be perfect for highway driving long distance.
Fingers crossed.
What is your setup for motovlogging ? Camera, microphone, attachment to helmet?
GoPro on a chest mount with a video game mic.
Other reviewers have complained about the fly by wire, and you guys figured it out. Wow… So, can you do a full lock turn without giving it gas?
That is a good question and I will do that very soon. Thank you!
How comfortable is the original seat? I had to install a Seat Concepts tall seat on my 411 in order to ride it comfortably.

Yes, just released in the US. Wahoo!
People r saying that the engine becomes comparatively smooth (vibes and all) after 1000- 1200 miles for these 450 ... Is it true.. ? 🤔
Now that you mention it, I think it is true. Good question. Thanks!
Are there vibrations above 5000rpm?
Not much vibration at all, even less at the higher RPMs.
@@forgottenmotorcycles Thanks for the info. When I tested the 450 he was new, only 1300k. That was propably the reason for high frequent vibrations…
I used to hate this bike but im starting to like it. Still dont like the dash though🤨
Get yourself a test ride on one. It may help. Wahoo!
Please stop calling it 452
It's the Himalayan 450 (four fifty)
The newest model with the same engine is the Guerrilla 450
Enfields fault, they marketed it early on as the 452 then changed it to 450
Wahoo
Two reasons I won't try it.Ride by wire which is unnecessary nonsense and stressed member frame which has already failed in 2 cases.
I think you should try it 🙂
Ditto on throttle-by-wire, on many bikes it is snatchy and annoying. Speed Twin 1200 is a prime example, I own one!
