    I really enjoyed the image of the tree growing out of the rocks with the 10 stop filter to blur the sky, what a great location!

    Hi Tom.
    Another great video.
    I love Dartmoor, such a beautiful place and so quiet, shame it's a 2 hour drive for me otherwise I'd visit more often.
    I also can't find anywhere that's currently got Rollei Infrared 400 in stock, so maybe there is a production delay, but I've tried Rollei Superpan 200 with my R72 filter rating it between ISO 6-12 with really good infrared shots. Have a try of that film, seems a bit easier to find and rated as a good infrared film.

    • @tomwhelan
      @tomwhelan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Graham thanks very much. That’s really interesting about the Rollei superpan 200, I’m definitely going to be trying that out in future. Hopefully the Rollei infrared will be back in stock soon 🤞

    Thanks Tom Dartmoor does look a beautiful place to photograph, both films are very good SFX200 is a wonderful film with a red R72 filter looks amazing, the joy using my Hasselblad 500 is that I have 3 backs with 3 different films, but you must like Square format photos, anyway really liked it, cheers from down under 🇦🇺

    That's a really nice area you've got there, good pictures. I like the SFX200, used it several times. I think I like the composition with the castle and fence in the foreground the best, but the pictures of the horses were nice too.

    • @tomwhelan
      @tomwhelan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks very much Alfred it’s certainly a very beautiful area. I would happily use the SFX200 again as I really liked the results from it. The only problem is it’s a very expensive film almost twice the price of Rollei, if you can find any.
      Many thanks Tom.

    Your backpack camera bag looks like something I’ve been looking to find for my medium format gear. Can you tell me the brand/model? Really enjoy your videos! Amazing photo opportunities near you. I am in the Pacific Northwest of the US and we’ve pretty much have had rain every day. Anxious to get out and take some photos. Cheers.

      Thanks very much, I believe the camera bag is a lowepro nature trekker aw. It came with the camera so not 100%.

      @@tomwhelan Is there a focusing aid for infrared on a lens ring?

    • @tomwhelan
      @tomwhelan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tonywilding9137 hi Tony there are no red markings on the RZ67 lenses. I have been told but might not be correct. That because the lenses are APO you don’t need to correct for infrared. I’ve found the images to be sharp so far.

    Hi Tom.Thank you for always uploading wonderful works. What film scanner do you use?

    • @tomwhelan
      @tomwhelan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kentaro I’m currently using an Epson V600 flatbed scanner. I find it does a good job with medium format but I don’t like the scans from 35 mm film. If I was shooting 35 mm I would definitely buy a dedicated 35mm scanner.
      Many thanks Tom.

    Hi Tom, I am trying to understand how you create some of these stunning images. The last photo in this video has a different version on 11:31 that I find more interesting because it has more 3D effect. So what is the secret there, the film stock or the filter or both? I admit that I don't know much about filters.

    • @tomwhelan
      @tomwhelan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Helgi the last image was shot as a standard black and white image. The same image earlier was shot using an infrared filter IR72 which gives it a different effect. I hope this helps Helgi 👍

    • @helgividar
      @helgividar ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And the film stock in both cases is Ilford SFX200 or?

    • @tomwhelan
      @tomwhelan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@helgividar yes they were both shot on Ilford SFX 200. Sorry it’s very unclear in the video 👍
