Sanji is by far my least favorite strawhat (for the record my second least favorite is chopper) HOWEVER. Sanji mostly prioritizes baddies cause 90% of one piece women are bbl double D small waisted women in the first place, however he does keep this same energy with any female ally such as kureha and kokoro so it's not completely accurate, at least pre-timeskip anyway since he doesnt protect shinobu as much as he protected the previously mentioned 2. Anyway!! The significance of the black maria moment was more due to sanji's willingness to both self-sacrifice especially for women and for the fact that robin especially needed protection (enies lobby) so this kinda goes against those 2 character notes which is why robin is delighted to help and why black maria's goons critique him so badly for asking for help as they dont realize the near 1000 chapters of build up between these 2 trading roles
