I am a new comer to tekken 8 from sf6. I select dragunov 1 week ago with no reason except he looks like a lunatic. Have been losing for a week, now I am start winning. I have not seen many dragunoc guide online .I have to look up some dragunov guide from tekken 7 .I appreciate so much you are doing this for us.
Didn’t know about the replay features of this game until you mentioned it near the end of the video, that alone convinced me to get 8 as my next game. Thanks for being so in depth yet casual with your videos, keep up the good work man
Literally been one tricking drag since tekken 7 got the game 3 days ago and have been playing him non stop I legit didn't even know you could sneak into the axe kick or that the deep crouch low was a mixup for a mid hit, I have been playing without either of those this entire time, currently at destroyer rank thank you for showing me that as well as the electric combo since i've been using a pretty bummy 3 2 into down 3 2 1+2 into stomp whenever I get it since I assumed it consumed the bound state as a property of the move landing, super helpful info. Something to note with the back 4 2 1 you can punish jab check attempts with your back 2, 4 sabaki on read and it leads into 3 , 2 , 1+2 into stomp for a nice 50+ damage punish if you feel like being extra evil.
Hell yeah, Sir Gay! Aris made me basically love this guy, so it's pretty hype to see you doing a rundown on him. I love how basic Soul Calibur movement strats just beat his opening game entirely. It feels nice to have invested so much time into a dead game. I'm laughing, but also crying.
@@jays.6843 that's crazy too cause usually the characters I pick in games aren't popular. I think I'll stick with him even if and when he ends up weak, I love his style
love all the match up content. tekken finally clicked with me recently so now the hard part of learning match ups is on the table. this helps a lot thank ya
This is an incredible guide displaying strong ways to abuse Dragunov’s power. Thanks for making this video! Learn all your strings and when to apply them, d2 is your go-to low, don’t snake edge for cheese bc he has enough frame advantage and strong songs to work with without it, and sneak 4 abuse. I like it! Definitely gonna try employing this as a new Dragunov player!!
@@gollder_54 I hope they are so people can't stop getting mad at being bad at the game and blaming the characters. I've stopped using wr2 and qcf4 all together and people still plug when getting outplayed. I'll keep playing him for sure, he's the most fun character to play right now second only to Steve.
This series is so useful for below average players like me. Allows me to understand why I lose to mashers and why understanding matches ups is so important.
For more wall travel and more damage on your staple combo instead of sneak bound 2 after fcdf1,2 do fcdf1,2 sneak crouch cancel 3,1 sneak bound 2 run up df3+4 etc but as always great video mmswe
Love the vid man. I've been hungry for some Bryan content. Bryan seems kinda rare out in the wild. I chose him because he looks awesome but he's proving to be a challenge.
I pray you do more of these as they are a very informative approach to a character guide, if youre considering more, please do paul, watching your gameplay and 8 min guide was incredibly helpful but i have issues replicating some of your wall combos and combo decision making process with the character
I'm only in warrior rank right now, but I've only seen one Dragunov, but the one I found absolutely stomped me. I chalk it up to being a noob but I definitely think Dragunov is super strong
Sorry to everyone I meet up to warrior rank (for some reason everyone is assailant?). I'm still training and never played ranked yet so I'm a beginner. I don't play seriously against players much worse than me, I try to teach them how to deal with stuff
I'm also on yellow ranks currently and I fought a few Dragu already, though most of them were not low rank players knowledge-wise. I think they were at least red-purples in T7. And also Dragu in T8 vrvr strong, yeah.
So strong! I've only seen one and apparently I wasn't even allowed to jab. Gotta go back and watch the replay. And I'm gonna learn him to help me fight against him
Drag is kind of pushing S tier at the moment. I wouldn't call him BROKEN, but he's simultaneously very easy to play and just has good buttons. Plus the changes to running attacks mad his fff+2, which was already one of the best moves in Tekken 7, even better.
You can neither block nor attack against Yoshimitsu, but there is one perfect counter. You can sidestep the whole matchup and punish with ALT+F4, you need to react to him appearing in loading screen. Nah just joking, don't skip matchups and you will learn faster.
I really appreciate your videos MMS I really learn a lot from you thank you and I one question...are you going to make a coaching series for every character?
before watching the video, I gotta agree on the design part, the OG drip is so f*cking good, its the reason why I started playing the character in the first place
Thank you for pointing out that cocked hammer combo! Thing does massive damage + wall carry. Cocked hammer itself is crazy undervalued Edit: Also, counterhit d2 gives you a free throw attempt
From my experience, using Dragunov's crazy pressure and mix-ups can have some people hesitating for way too long. Long enough you can cancel 'Feint and Catch' and transition into his hellsweep (or the feint if you've conditioned them to block the hellsweep). It doesn't work on everyone, especially those who realize what's going on.

23:44 now I know I'm not the only one that has this bug with Dragunov, when you try to input df1 you get a down jab instead. This is a big problem honestly
you can get nice damage from qcf+1 with qcf+1, df3+4, qcf3+4, 4,4 FC df1,4,2 dash, 3,1,df1+2(83dmg), from qcf+2 with qcf+2 , df3+4, qcf3+4, 4,4 FC df1,4,2 dash, 3,1,df2 (87dmg) from db3 you can do also do db3, df3+4, qcf3+4, 4,4 FC df1,4,1+2 (73dmg)
Hi TMM, I played with You today and You crushed my Paul. I have already knew I don't know mechanics in T8 well, but I played from 2 weeks only. Btw I played on Xbox pad and for me it's difficult. It make me strange things, because pad is not precise enough, at least for me.p.s. I have problem with connection to server on XSX, do You have similar issues than I have? Have a great day.
Can anyone explain how he does the (what I assume is 1 - qcf4) at 17:46 quickly? When I tried to lab this "easy pressure" it seemed that different moves came out.
Victor players is all I see on rank. They usually run after the 1st lost or win. Victor players will mash often and Dragonov can punish that really well.
Losing is important to learn the match up. I’ve been stomped by sooo many Drugenovs to where I now at least get 1 round on them, which is a small victory il take. Kings and Kumas tho do give me a hard time still haha
Biggest strength against Reina is to learn to fuzzy guard. You can fuzzy guard almost all of her sentai mixups. But yeah, once she gets going its tough to stop :D
I switched from dragunov to Claudio in t7 because he was just that much more powerful. Instantly switched back to drag when I heard he's good again. Btw, what are the inputs for the combo and wall throw. Also can you not do his tackle while standing anymore?

Can anyone explain how he does the (what I assume is 1 - qcf4) at 17:46 quickly? When I tried to lab this "easy pressure" it seemed that different moves came out.
Victor players is all I see on rank. They usually run after the 1st lost or win. Victor players will mash often and Dragonov can punish that really well.
Bro I really needed this idk how to play against.
I was oneof the scrubs getting wrecked by dragunov and after this video I destroyed a dragunov player so hard they rage quit.
Nice Vid!, can you provide the inputs to that staple combo?
Losing is important to learn the match up. I’ve been stomped by sooo many Drugenovs to where I now at least get 1 round on them, which is a small victory il take. Kings and Kumas tho do give me a hard time still haha
Can you please do a how to play & Beat ling?
Dragunov is so oppressive in T8, because he’s releasing all of his anger for being trash in T7.
34:27 sometimes I use snake edge with Asuka cause with her it is a mind game because I can cancel mid animation to a while standing mid
I'm honestly having an easier time winning with Yoshi than with Dragonuv. I feel like outside of a close range, Dragonuv just breaks down.
Waiting for " how to defeat Reina"
She is like 8/10 of my games, she seems so broken lol.
Biggest strength against Reina is to learn to fuzzy guard. You can fuzzy guard almost all of her sentai mixups. But yeah, once she gets going its tough to stop :D
Can you do DVJ coaching vid just like this, having a hard time figuring him outt
I switched from dragunov to Claudio in t7 because he was just that much more powerful. Instantly switched back to drag when I heard he's good again. Btw, what are the inputs for the combo and wall throw. Also can you not do his tackle while standing anymore?
Bodied or not, fucking chad Paul rematching and trying his options, can guarantee he labs that
