De Wildt Hiking Trail | Magaliesberg

This hike is as tough as they come around the Gauteng area. The trail is called the Ktatu trail and there is other options available as well, shorter routes to the top. The trail offers dog walking as well. It offers beautiful views over the Harties area.

This is a great trail. The effort that has gone in makes it extra rad. Well marked, Indigenous trees labeled, the aloes, superb infrastructure and a view after the little uphill.

Hi Garnett, thank you for this review. Would you recommend this over Rosemary Hill? I have a hike coming up next weekend with people who don't normally hike. I had chosen De Wildt but having looked at it, I think I might change to Rosemary. Let me know, please. Many thanks.

Hi, I would say it depends on the fitness of the group, Rosemary is super chilled and very flat, also wide landscape variety. De wildt is a tough climb at the start but the view at the top is probably one of the best in Gauteng 😂 hope it helps.
