What to do in Mosselbay 2024 | Waterworld and Zipline
In this video I travel to Mosselbay with my family and it surprised me at how amazing this little city is. There is so much to do and we give you some idea of what you can do. We however did not manage to visit all the locations in the week we were there.

This is a full day hike outing, so make a nice group and be safe. It starts super inclined like all Table Mountain hikes but is quite flat on top until you reach Grootkop. At this point you imagine the climb is over but it's super steep at Grootkop and this really killed my spirit :). The clouds made the hike super special. This was one of the coolest surprises as I didn't know the cave was going to be this big. This is one of those hikes you can almost take the whole family with. In the winter when it rained the cave gets this beautiful waterfall running over it. This was surprisingly beautiful and filled with things to see from bunkers to old cannons and wonderful 360 views over Cape Town. This is one of those hikes you can do with kids because it is quite easy but be sure to go in groups seeing that people stay in these bunkers. This was a super tough hike for me, I don't know why maybe it was the heat or generally me just being tired 😁. The route is pretty unclear up and quite difficult to track so make sure you follow the map. The view of the dam and camel rock was quite cool. This is probably one of the most popular routes up Table Mountain via Platteklip Gorge. It is by no means easy and it will definitely get the heart rate up. This was quite a challenging scramble hike, but the views will definitely not disappoint. It is about 5,5km and it's one of those lesser traveled hikes. There is to much to see and you can extend the route to the radar station. I reckon a sunrise hike might be the most beautiful for pictures. This is a very easy hike and would recommend it to anyone. If you want an amazing view without the effort this is the hike for you. You can actually cycle also up to this peak which is pretty cool. This is one of those hikes where you are spoiled with so much to see. This route can be extended all the way to noordhoek peak for a full day outing. I was surprised at how big this cave is and it makes for some beautiful pictures. The route is 3km to Elephants Eye but 4,5km to Constantiaberg. Hi, the routes were very well marked and definitely one of the best hikes around Gauteng but I dont know how safe it will be alone seeing that the cliff is quite steep and some spots could be risky alone.

Wowee ! Garnet i always hit the like button before i even see your vids. As you know i lived in Cape Town, but never went to Mosselbai. Have you found those white-barked slim trees with spreading ground roots, deep in Newlands Forest yet ? They were magical, covered in bright green moss. Or maybe they've been removed or died out ? 🌱🤔

brother this makes me so happy to see someone recorded such an amazing journey up there i did it when i was 12 with my Voortrekkers group , i live in New Zealand now for a long time and this brought back so many memories, by any chance was there a old military hut up there near the water fall still ?

Hi Garnett. Thank you for posting- is the gate always open ? I am scared that I finish the hike and then get to the gate and it’s closed 😮
To be honest, I am not sure what the operating times are but there is a gate buzzer that you call and they open the door 😁.

Hi, I would say it depends on the fitness of the group, Rosemary is super chilled and very flat, also wide landscape variety. De wildt is a tough climb at the start but the view at the top is probably one of the best in Gauteng 😂 hope it helps.

If you park by Rhodes memorial then where do you go from there to start the hike?
The best would be to park at the end of Table Mountain road and just walk up the trail from there, just look for woodstock cave hike on all trails.

Are there any similar farms that you might know of? I am planning to shoot my graduation short film on a mountain/ farm near Hartbeespoort or at least less than 2 hours away from Johannesburg. I just thought it might be challenging to shoot without disturbing hikers.
There is actually quite a few, bsorah, rosemary-hill, hennops hiking trail, phaladingwe, Van Gaalen. Hiker’s tend to be very relaxed so I won’t mind them 😁. If you go on a Saturday it might be busy but some of these farms are not so busy.
