I use tea bags quite a bit in my junk journals. Recently, I came across a suggestion to try printing directly onto a tea bag. No instructions were included with the suggestion, however. So I just used a little washi tape to attach it to a piece of copy paper and sent it through my printer. And it worked! So far, I've only printed black and white images which look beautiful. Fun technique!
Now I just need to find them, pull them out of my stash, and use them again. Really like the effects of tea bags on a page, tfs & reminding us to use what we have.
I also dry my teabags first, in their normal wet condition. It takes about a day, yet when dry, the tea has had more time to color the paper. Wonderful examples of what to do with them.
Great idea ! I actually use tea bags for years in my junk journal, I use it as much as you would do cheese cloth and indeed like see through paper :-) waiting until the tea bag is dried completely makes it less messy with the emptying of your bag... ;-)
What adhesive did you use to adhere them to your journal? With the transparency of the bag, a lot of adhesives would show through, so I was curious as to what you used. I would like to try this, but hesitate without knowing what kind of adhesive would work.
Also try passion fruit tea, the bags will have a pinkish red finish. I leave the tea in the bag until it is dry and then remove the tea, the bags will be a darker brown or pinkish red

Thanks for letting us know it worked...was about to try that next! ;)
I used the tiny screwdriver that I had from an eyeglass repair kit to remove the staple. Worked perfectly.
Great idea!

For texture paste also. The tea leaves.
Add tea to garden. Its a hit with plants. Even indoor plants. Great idea on the paper.

A matte medium like Mod Podge would be perfect for this technique
Awesome. Thank you. I will have to try this
Hope you enjoy, it's really fun ;)
Great tips. Thanks and take care.😊😊
Thank you! You too!
Very nice idea and well used!
Thank you very much!
And, I tea dyed some paper with the liquid as well as allowed the bags to drain and dry on some muslin to dye that too. Waste not, want not!
Great idea, thanks!
Great ideas! Thanks
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching :)

Oh, thanks Dinie! Great idea!
Love what you did with the tea bags..🌷
Thank you, Diane!
I use Tetley family size tea bags. They are huge - 4 3/4 X 7 1/4. And, I too let them dry first.
What a great idea, thank you!
The Thumbs Down must be a coffee drinker!
I also love using them. I forget they are in my stash 🙄. Blessings and Hugs 🤗
Awesome!
Thanks!
Nifty tip!
Glad it was helpful!
Put the tea in your compost! Zero waste!
Thanks for sharing your process. How did you attach the tea bag to the page? Glue?
Yes, I used Mod Podge. I think any craft glue would work just fine too!
The Graphics Fairy LLC Thank you!
I would also like to know what kind of adhesive/glue you used to adhere the bags to the paper
Hi John, I just used Mod Podge, but honestly I think any craft glue would work just fine.
tried to edit my last comment but keept getting an error - the butterfly pea tea is blue
what do you use to glue those down with?
Hi Linda, a glue stick or matte medium would both work well for this project
I wait until the bags dry out and then empty them. Then it just brushes right out easily.
Can you better wait intill its all dry?
