I've had this footage for awhile and debated about uploading it since it's not my usual content but I really just wanted to show something fun and easy that can be done for relaxation and creativity. These are stressful times and art therapy is something that can create a sense of calm and accomplishment. I'm not an artist but you don't have to be to enjoy the process!! So, drink some tea, grab a pencil and make a little bit of something for yourself!
This was excellent. I’m so (so) glad you uploaded this onto TH-cam for us to watch. It was very inspiring. I’ve not long finished a green tea, with breakfast, so I’ve put this aside to dry. I’ve started my three week annual holiday this week (although I have been doing work, to catch up before I return to work in January) and I’m definitely going to do this (and I’d like to motivate myself and make the lemon curd/butter you showed us how to make a few videos back). I commented a while back that I bought a vintage cookbook on eBay. I have received it. It’s called, ‘A Good Cook...Ten Talents’ by Frank J Hurd and Rosalie Hurd (published 1968). I bought it here in Australia but it’s an American cookbook. Though expensive I’m glad I bought it. I’m yet to create one of the recipes, as I’ve been busy at work and unmotivated when I have down time. Maybe this can be a holiday goal. My main goal is to do some de-cluttering, which I started. Out of all places, I started with my books. My goal is to buy less and save my money. Aside from work, maybe I need to keep busy doing art and cooking healthy food instead of spending and cluttering my home. Thank you for being inspiring and being encouraging with your positive words 🌻
I'm so glad you're going to try teabag art! It really does become addictive! The lemon curd is really good. I've been meaning to make some scones to go with it but my motivation in that department has been a bit lacking also! I too am decluttering areas of my home. I started on my kitchen awhile back and I need to finish it. I think a lot of us has come to a point where we're wanting to spend less and stop collecting things. Looking into 1940s rationing really made me rethink what I was doing. It gave me the new goal to try and reduce my food waste! I hope you have a great time off and get things done but also sprinkle in some fun stuff like painting. Please let me know how your teabag art went. I think you'll really enjoy it!!
Oh my gosh, I love this. How adorable. It's amazing how someone started to paint on a tea bag. I bet this would be cute to paint Christmas scenes to hang on the Christmas Tree. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked it as I have some other art related videos that I think might be fun! And the chaos will be coming soon! :)
I am a tea drinker. I have never thought of painting on the teabag. Loved your calm way of teaching us how to do it. I am not an artist either but I am going to try and do some simple art on a teabag and see how I do. Thanks for showing us simply how it can be done. Yours are so pretty.
I love this sort of content! I love doodling and videos like this encourage me to break out my art supplies. Plus, its very relaxing to watch (tea ASMR, lol).
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you're getting the art supplies back out. Let me know if you try a little teabag painting but I warn you now, it's very addictive! :)
You may not believe it, but I received vibrant Derwent water colors for my birthday and just started painting for relaxation yesterday. I was sitting today wondering what to paint and then I put on your video to paint while watching expecting it to be a cooking video and viola.... I painted a tea cup with you. When I finish I will tag you on Instagram if you have it.
I love this! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and painted along! I have an instagram, acookbookcollector, that I haven't used in awhile but please tag me because I was going to start using it again as I have some new ideas for it and I would love to see your painting!
Once you’ve sewn them together what do you do with them? Do you have a complete project posted somewhere? Very cute teapots and teacups. I would argue that you really are an artist. ❤
When God was granting talents and abilities, I was not in line that day to receive the artist talent (LOL). My brother got that talent, and I was given the talent to write. I love writing Bible Training Manuals. I would like to learn how to use teabags in tinting white paper to look like vintage writing paper. I have a small collection of teapots. This looks like fun!!!
It sounds like you have a very talented family! To me, writing is a very creative and artistic talent as you're painting a scene with words instead of a paintbrush. I have dyed paper with tea and it's so much fun! I'll have to include a how to on the next art video. I have a cousin I exchange letters with and sometimes we dye paper to make it more special. Thank you for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
Thank You!! I really enjoyed your video and encouraging words!!! Very sweet art!! Glad you mentioned Ruby's book! Funny, I just happened on a video of her a day or two ago! Saw that book and wondered what the inside looked like... She is So gifted!! But with a bit if effort, imagination and whimsy from every day life or Fantady, Anybody should be able to express their creative muse by playing art on tea bags or other recycled materials!! I'm working with food packaging ( chipbpoard) right now, and just ordered A box of tea to taste try and then use the tea bags! Can't wait! I only have a few bags I saved when I first started seeing this style from gals using bags for collage and embellishment in junk journals, which I also play with making! I LOVE the idea of recycling materials we mostly take for granted and toss. And we are throwing money away! That packaging is included into the price you pay.. Sometimes, the packaging cost more than the actual contents! So, make creative use! Happy and Blessed Creative Adventures to You! - Mindi in Iowa 🙋🏻♀️✍💚☕
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you liked the video! I first saw Ruby's teabag art on Pinterest and I was hooked. I drink a lot of tea so it was the perfect idea to try! I too liked that it recycled the material and I love how the different teas stain the bags. It's fun sometimes to use the staining as part of your design. Hope you have lots of fun creating and thank you for the kind words!!
@@ACookbookCollector Hi, and You're Welcome,, Thanks for your reply! Got some paints out to start one....now its yoo hot in my studio to play very long lol!! I probably have like three or four or more projects at any given time lol! And STILL haven't gotten back to start playing music again! Once I get caught up some, I hope!! Have a Great Summer! Happy Crafting' 😉😊🙋🏻♀- Mindi
These are super cute! I’m always looking for ideas for tea bags! I love their texture and how they get a vintage stain from the tea! Since they are meant to get wet, you can do anything to them! Also, the tea leaves can be used to make faux paper (Treasure Books has a video about that on her channel). TYFS! ❤️🦋💜
Very inspiring and relaxing video! I have been collecting tea bags in a cute dish above my sink for quite a while. I empty them and feed my garden about once a month. I teach a bible journaling class and love to make junk journals. I use them that way. Now I will be painting some!❤
Absolutely keep up these inspiring videos and the shares. I can't wait to look up that book you shared! I kept pausing you to make a tea bag and I was inspired by the China Set Blue Danube so It took me a few extra pauses to get it in line with instruction. Thank you so much as this was a simple project and fun to do! I am doing lots of things with tea bags since switching from only coffee I knew I had to reuse them! That roll on a spindle of the tea bags is outstanding! A first see for me. You keep this going please!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed this and painted along! I'll certainly make more and make another video. I recently dried and prepared another batch of teabags so I need to do something with them! :)

Thank you! And that's an excellent idea! I never thought to make them into ornaments but that would be so cute! I love it!
So very sweet and creative. I love working in small space. TFS!
I dry my tea bags on pages in my journals. They creat wonderful organic shapes!
That's a great idea! I'm going to try that!
Very adorable! You do a great job teaching and are so very encouraging.
Thank you so much!!
I thoroughly enjoyed your video about painting pictures on to dried teabags. Thanks!
Wow love this video! I already love your cooking ones, but the art scene is a whole other scene! Waiting on another chaos recipes video!

Those are absolutely darling, very cute video. I thought possibly to add a square backing, and a magnet, for a refrigerator magnet? Maybe? 😊
Great video!

Are you using Watercolors? Thanks
Yes! And sometimes gouache; especially if I want to highlight with white.
💞
It’s easy to empty them when they are still wet….then they dry faster…..
I empty my bag once cool, it takes so much less time to dry. Once it's dry I remove the rest of the tea. Dries in an hour or so
Isnt it just watercolors?
I enjoyed your tutorial. One tip: Count how many times you said, "Let's go ahead."
