Oooh fun new set-up! Don't know if I like it more than previously, but you make it work! Hope you find some good new smash hits in the 2nd half of the month, being whelmed is just so annoying hahahah. Excited for your review of EotV, I am so happy it was such a fave for you!! And aaaaah enjoy The Blue Flames 🤩
I'd be lying if I said I didn't wish you'd set you'd set book down for at least a 5 count lol. Maybe get into a habit of setting it down at the beginning and maybe again at the end for a few seconds? I do like the new setup, even though it feels a bit more restricted and I like how animated you can get. Not too bad of a reading month. It's interesting that you're that far into Pariah and not getting to the dust jacket, yet it's still compelling. Good thing it's already in the TBR!
Great video! Love the new setup man! Thank you for the shoutout, happy to support you and your channel. I want to read day zero and sea of rust so good to know to read day zero first!
@@TheBeardedBookBeast I really appreciate your support! Thanks I am really trying to spruce up the setup :). I hope you enjoy day zero it’s robot apocalypse done right
Good month for me so far. Twenty books with no fewer than five 5-star reads: Dream Town - Lee Goldberg, South Coast - Nathan Lowell, First Frost, Craig Johnson, and both books of the Warformed: Stormreaver series - Bryce O'Connor. (Maybe I'm lucky; maybe I'm just being generous. 8-) ) I did have a 1-star book from a series that I've been reading for a while that will probably end my reading of that author's work. I can't stand preachy at the cost of the story. Fortunately, it was from Audible+, so it didn't cost me any extra money.
I finally have an answer for you. If you want something similar to Stormweaver. Check out Davis Ashura Testament of Steel. Great audio. Its got the feeling of Rowe, the lore of Wot & LotR with the setting of Stormweaver.
@@AndrewsWizardlyReads Thanks. it's on the (ridiculously long) wish list, so at least I will know if it goes on sale. And when my credits refresh next month, we'll see where it fits.
I like the angle! It’s tough figuring out what works and what doesn’t. But you’re on a roll!!! 🤣 I’ve been playing with my setup too and am not happy yet… one step at a time. Good to know that swam song and the stand are similar. Since they’re both chunkers, we can now focus on one of them 😝 Can’t wait for your empire review.
I definitely think The Covenant of Steel is Anthony Ryan's best writing. I do think it's a bit too character driven for me, especially in book three. Also, I like the old setup better. That could just be my brain got used to it though. 😅
@@trinforeman54 I should finish the Pariah today! It’s been good but it’s definitely more character driven and slower paced. I’m still enjoying it though
There's quite a lot in here and the month is only halfway done! Gaiman is extremely hit or miss for me. I haven't been certain if I'll try Empire of the Vampire, Kristoff definitely has a unique flair to his writing, but good to know your thoughts.
When Gaiman hits he is great but often times his work just isnt for me... With Empire of the Vampire its all down to you got try it to see if its for you. if it helps its on KU
Nice new setup. And off to a good start to the month so far! I know what you mean with Crucible of Chaos, the ending worked enough for me to really love it by the end though so hopefully it's the same for you!
@@OnlyTheBestFantasyNovels Thanks! Crucible was a solid read. I do think it is a continuation error the slipped between draft revisions. That said I still really enjoyed it

Gaiman's just one of those authors I rarely feel compelled or excited to pick up again. I'll give Swan Song another go but I think McCammon's pretty overhyped from my experience.
With the exception of Coraline & a few of his short stories, I find Gaiman's books to be at best average. When I read American Gods, Neverwhere, Stardust, and Ocean, I always cane to a point where I said to myself "Why do people love this so much?" On paper, I should be a bigger fan considering my tastes but I have concluded that his novels are just not for me.
Wow, I wonder if we will see more mid Swan Song reviews now that you have soft DNF’d it. Now there is a handful of us who loved the first half but were not crazy about part 2. You are not missing out on anything except a real sappy supernatural plot twist.
Loving the videos Andrew! I’m currently reading The Wandering Inn book 1 and liking it. Also have Rise of the Ranger, Rooker Flynn, and RuneLords on deck. Do you read more than one book at a time during your reading time? Just curious
@@AndrewsWizardlyReads oh sure. Do you have more than one book going at once. Like I’m reading some of one for a day then switch to different one the next type of thing?
