your videos are so clear and the description are so complete that i can draw exactly the same thing with only listening to you guide speech. thats amazing thanks
i know im randomly asking but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost my login password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Hezekiah Turner I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
XXxx19JordaN93xxXX...Possible reasons: Your foreground and background colors are both black. The copied black background isn't active. The adjustment layers at the top of your layers panel are clipping.
Aqua8Mann...it's okay to have a bit a texture on the outside of the circle, since the radial "spikes" are there. You may want to redo the circular selection inside the planet, as well as the amount of feathering.
fdrsnay007...Your Photoshop Color Profiles are different than mine. The Source profile should be "sRGB" (standard RGB). Click Edit>Convert to Profile. Select "Adobe(ACE)" as the engine and "Perceptual" as the intent in the "Conversion Options" box. Check "Black Point Compensation" & "Use Dither". Click "OK" to apply the new profile.
David Benner...Your PSD file would have to be looked at to see the source of the problem. It's usually a minor error. Make sure the layer that you want to fill with black is active.
Why have I not found you earlyer? Been messing about on youtube trying to learn photoshop for a long time, and you sir is the best one yet. Don't get me wrrong, people like Gavin are good, but this is so straight to the point. "Do this, you get this." No extra or attempts to be funny, I like that. Also, I really like your techniques, these vids are answering lots of questions I have been trying to figure out for a long time that has nothing to do with this planet. Thank you!
These tutorials and the images are in so much detail, it is phenomenal. I always try with less settings, but the subtle details really make it pop and you can actually tell when they are missing. Incredible.
I actually said, "Oh NO" when you made a change. Reminds me of when I used to watch Bob Ross - he would have a great painting going then he would make this big change in it and I would say, "Don't do it Bob!" and of course it turned out much better. You take something that couldn't get better, and then you make it better...and then again! love it. Thanks
I love how this is so quick and simple and yet the outcome looks so professional. Someone like Phlearn would definitely take 20 minutes of your time to explain this stuff, and even then they would find a more difficult way of doing it.
WOW man JUST WOW!!! loved this one, i just subscribed today from the oil paint tutorial and started looking ur videos and i hate to say you are just a master, i would love to see you make a disntegration tutorial as i have been looking for one that is detailed explained and easy for the cs6 and you are the best that i've seen thanks for this tutorial =)
Your tutorials are like dictionary "photoshop dictionary" :)) Simple, short, Clear...no lab lab..we are fortunate to have you , and free of charge :D Thank you
You know a lot of this stuff is actually intersting for 3D artists/texture artists, too. You might find/expand your audience with some game related content. This is awesome!
This is really interesting I'll like to use it for an original image I want to create you're tutorials help me a lot am new to Photoshop CS6 Extended - so new in fact I don't even know even know the use of half the icons on my screen! I follow your steps every step by step procedure an your tutorial helps.
Another great looking FX. Thanx for this. Was searching for something like this a long time !!! What would be awesome a tut how to do this with a custom sphere i created from a background.... Like a exploding crystal ball
Well.. that was impressive; best tutorial i've seen in a long time my jaw dropped at how good it was. I don't even use Photoshop but with your guidance i'm sure i could to anything.
Marlon Vidal...Thanks! Presently, the closest tutorial I did on disintegration is the "splatter effect". Go to my channel and in the "Search Channel" field, type in "splatter effect".
the content and simplicity of technique of your videos are superb,i'll be glad to drop a few bucks off into your donation bucket soon for all the great help-thanks
I think i missed something somewhere. When I add the Hue and Color Balance it turns my black background those colors too. What did I miss? Thanks in advance love your work.
OMG, polar coordinates and WIND! i haven't used wind since photoshop 4!! or... polar coordinates, either. wow! ;D and you made them USEFUL! top marks :)
Hi Marty! I’ve enjoyed immensely every video tutorial you have posted. As a self-taught photoshopper, your tutorials taught me I’ve established bad habits and lack an understanding of why things are done certain ways. With all due respect...I can Monkey See, Monkey Do the steps in your tutorials but fall flat on my face when trying to achieve original effects. I’m not whining or sniveling. I purchased a full copy of CS6 and am thoroughly enjoying my successes and failures. Can you recommend a video, link or some other form of study material that might help me pick up the basics of photoshop I never learned? Perhaps another way of asking is...How do you teach yourself new tricks? :-)
Marti this is fantastic tutorial, very powerful. I am reading the previous comments here, and they all sound so easy peasy. I fully do manage to finish the tutorial by following it step by step, but am I the only one who finds it very difficult to remember all these steps? Again, I am not faulting the tutorial at all really am not, but this photoshop thing feels something like a frigging rocket science. Needed to vent few tears anyway :)
+Dragan Tomas No worries. It takes time to learn PS. As long as you continue to diligently work on it, you'll eventually get to a point when it'll all make sense. Don't be hard on yourself. "A long journey begins with a single step". :-)
Hey Marty, first of all, thank you so much for all the awesome vids! But I have a request for you: Could you make a tutorial about a comet or something hitting another planet or just flat ground? I just can't figure out how to make a good looking impact.. :)
I have a problem with my colors they aren't exactly the same as this video or any video even if I choose the same red or blue the color on my Photoshop dose not match completely there's a slight differences like in the brightness of the color or something? (Im on cs6)
Hello Blue Lightning TV. If you happen to see this I was wondering if you had any suggestions for me. I love how on the planet it has light coming through the cracks. I would like to achieve the same effect but on a 2d background. If you have any recommendations I would love to hear back from you!
Having a lil' trouble. When I make the selection then cut the selection from the image it's not cutting the entire image. There is still texture on the outside of the circle.
There seems to be a problem with me :( your tutorial is amazing and it helped a lot. but following your steps i had a problem with the background, it's different than yours, the effect i used (hue&saturation and colour balance) was applied to the black background more than i can see in your photo, is this normal? i can send you a screenshot in inbox. Please reply ASAP! I got a final to hand in for a photoshop course and i had this idea about apocalypse and exploding planets in space and i really love your tutorial it helped a lot! Thank you in advance!
HI, I LOVE your tutorials, and normally have no issues getting the same results... but for some reason, this one, I cannot get the same look of the "explosion" Mine is very "dissolve" looking.. any ideas what I may be doing wrong? your "outer explosion" appears much softer than mine :(
Hi. thank you for the quick reply. My first blend mode is like you state - hard light, and the second is to Disolve... but it all looks like disolve on the end :(
Thank you so much Marty (hope the name is right). I can't afford to buy Photoshop, so I downloaded a free trial and thank to you, for one month I felt like I am a designer, my passion. Unfortunately, the month is running out.Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Gilberto
+Gilberto Pulga For $7.99/month, you can get the newest version of Photoshop, Lightroom and 20GB of cloud storage. Click the above link in my video's description to get the discount. To get the discount INSTANTLY, go to my most recent tutorial.
Hey Marti awesome tutorial, but I have a question: can the planet be shaped as a Heart? Because that's kinda what I'm trying to archive. If not, what would be your reccomendation? Thanks a lot! ^^
your videos are so clear and the description are so complete that i can draw exactly the same thing with only listening to you guide speech. thats amazing

@Hezekiah Turner I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm.

@Hezekiah Turner It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much, you saved my account !
@Sylas Aaron You are welcome :D

Marty your BLTV tuitions are always so clear to follow and always deliver exactly what they claim. Excellent!

Select "Adobe(ACE)" as the engine and "Perceptual" as the intent in the "Conversion Options" box. Check "Black Point Compensation" & "Use Dither". Click "OK" to apply the new profile.
Konstigkanal...If you recreate it and not use mine, I don't see a problem. Where and how would it be used?
fdrsnay007...It's possible your Image mode is CMYK. Go to Image > Moe > RGB (8 Bits / per channel).
David Benner...Your PSD file would have to be looked at to see the source of the problem. It's usually a minor error. Make sure the layer that you want to fill with black is active.

I want to second that - well defined steps, excellent narration and just an overall great tutorial.
I love how this is so quick and simple and yet the outcome looks so professional. Someone like Phlearn would definitely take 20 minutes of your time to explain this stuff, and even then they would find a more difficult way of doing it.
Wow, that's amazing. The quality of your tutorials is brilliant. Thanks for making these!
Marty has anybody told you that you sound exactly like the narrator on the tv doc series called "Forensic Files". Wow crazy.
Great tutorials btw!
One of the best PS tutorials I've watched on TH-cam... Good work!
Marty I've been watching you tutorials for the last 2 days and I must say I appreciate your patience in teaching this how to use this wonderful tool.
Thanks for taking the time to do these tutorials. They are very helpful and good fun.

Nice approach. Normally the planet is created via "Clouds" and "Difference Clouds". But this one looks more organic. Thanks.
At Blur > Radial Blur 06:00 part why isn't working? The one who affects is the lava explosion
Help
UltimateSmackTalker I know

Really nice voice over. Very clear and easy to hear.
Great tutorial, brilliant use of polar co-ordinates, image rotation, and stylizing to create that effect.
Amazing and well explained on every step! Worth the watch
Sheer brilliance. From relatively simple ingredients can come insanely high quality realistic views like this. Wow!

At 1:25 it says to click "control and F" to repeat the filter twice but when I do this it just brings a "discovery" box. I am using Windows 10?
In later versions of PS, it's Alt + Ctrl + F (Option + Cmd + F on a Mac).
Ok thank you!

When I add the radial blur, it doesn't look all smooth like yours, it's (sorta) pixelated, if this normal?
I think i missed something somewhere. When I add the Hue and Color Balance it turns my black background those colors too. What did I miss? Thanks in advance love your work.
Another Great tutorial. I'm learning so much. Thanks.
