The Problem you had in minute 24 is because you moved the colliding planet only and forgot to move his exposure with it. So the layer wasnt aligned properly ;)
Benny is not doing anything different in Photoshop to the hundreds of TH-camrs before him. Benny's marketing/branding though is very good, and hence he build his brand in 2-3 years. I was creating stuff like this before Benny was born!! I first used Photoshop in 1998 and used it professionally even since.

In earlier version of Photoshop, it was ctrl+F. In a new version it is changed, but I change it to ctrl+F again in the settings.
