All I have to say to you is that I am 70 yrs. old and trying to keep my mind active learning Photoshop. I would like to THANK YOU for sharing these video tutorials. You make a fantastic teacher. I am able to follow you perfectly. BLESS YOU!!!
I'm in the middle of (what will hopefully be my first completed) spacescape. A lot of work has to also go into the starships and action going on in this picture, so being able to make Uranus, the ring, and stars quickly is a lifesaver. Your videos have allowed me to do in a couple of hours what it would have taken entire days to figure out from scratch.
Your videos are by far the most detailed. They are great for beginners to pros. I donated to you blue lightning page, & I am a member of Patreon. Thanks Marty. Keep up the great work, I hope others donate so you can keep feeding us great information.
Yes, very good and very easy to understand. But some of the commands are different in different photoshop version. For example: To make it black you have to press ctrl+delete instead of alt+delete, in photoshop cc 2014.
Amazing work, Marty, thanks. For me I ran into trouble when dragging the rings in over the planet. The rings would stop at the planet edge. Solution in case anyone else has the same: I added another layer and made that active then proceeded with the dragging the rings. Went perfect from there.
I love some of the ideas and techniques involved in this and another video I just watched. Though, I've found some tutorial articles elsewhere which have helped considerably, I've had a recent upgrade with Photoshop, so, I'm still trying to work out how some of the tools and features work. I must point out, though, that, there are other methods of doing the planetary rings, as I've never been particularly fond of the twirling filter method. This one keeps it a bit more uniform, however, the filters and techniques applied to the rings here, I've not seen before, and so, I will definitely check that out myself later. I love doing the space scenes; they're a ton of fun for me. Though, I keep going bigger with them. Will definitely be looking around this channel for anything like galaxy tutorials for sure.
Since you're interested, I've done dozens of space-related tutorials. Go to my TH-cam channel & click on the magnifying glass icon (next to “About”). In the “Search Channel” field, type in, “space”.
i was trying your tutorial and its great ! only thing is in Photoshop CC 2022, they give up the D filters (clouds, etc so i had to take a jpeg of the clouds to spherize it, but it works perfectly !) For my space rings for the moment i used one of my "traditional oil painting brush" on a cercle layer to have a ring, i put the right perspective and with grain and some "motion blur" it was great looking too, but this technic is really great ! thanks
I've got a imedia exam on photoshop and I have to make a retro style music album cover. Its a vinyl cover and the album name is Fifth Planet On The Left. The band is called Percussive Progress. Could u plz make a video on this and show me an example of how u would do it. I'm thinking of doing a space theme. Hope to hear back from u Thanks
I've done record album tutorials and space-related tutorials. Just combine aspects of both. Go to my channel and click the magnifying glass icon (next to “About”). Type in "record album" and "space".
Marty, Great videos! Thank you for doing them! I have a couple of questions. I recently updated to CC2018, 1. When I want to fill with black and press Ctrl + Del, I have to press the del twice, is this normal? 2. When I hit Ctrl + F, it brings up a "Find" panel, to repeat a filter, I have to hit Alt + Ctrl+ F, why is this? Lastly, When I hit Ctrl+N, it only brings up a single panel, not the one with all my recent document sizes, is this a setting somewhere? Thank you in advance!
Look up Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan. For $9.99 p/monthly (USD), you can download the latest version of Photoshop and also get Lightroom & 20 GB of cloud storage.
i was hoping to make somthing similar to this but make the rings spin for a custom gif anyone have a video they could link me to or tell me how to do it greatly appreciated c:
I go with the very old Photoshop 6, and when opened the 3rd document it got locked and it can't be unlocked no matter the countless attempts I did. As a result, I can't not proceed further on (can not add layer mask etc.
@@BLTV_Photoshop I was meaning the third one, thay you used for the rings, but finally ok, I found it. I had tocheck the transparent selection and proceed to the clouds and distort withoud putting black color. This way it stayed unlocked. There is another problem though with this very old Photoshop 6: I don't find anywhere any selection for smart object. Is there any alternative for this?

I have this glitch, as well. Apparently, Adobe is looking into it.
Blue Lightning TV Photoshop Thanks Marty!
wowww
Great :x
Just done it on my laptop....Hard has old boots...How long did it take for u to learn all this..Years ??
It takes a few weeks to get comfortable with PS and then, over the years, you gather more & more info.
awesome
I like the glowing effect. Is it a short cut to use pencil tool instead of brush tool to remove or hide the blue ring?
I prefer the Pencil Tool when I'm not concerned about creating soft edges.
Thanks
Another great stuff ! I follow you step by step :) I made my own version Of planet :) Looks like an exoplanet :)
Wonderful!
How did you install Photoshop CC 2017 sir? Im waiting for your answer sir thank you :)
JÜole Üse buying it from adobe maybe? Seems like thats the best way ;)
Look up Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan. For $9.99 p/monthly (USD), you can download the latest version of Photoshop and also get Lightroom & 20 GB of cloud storage.
Can you please show me how to make a tattered flag in Photoshop?
Why the pencil tool instead of the brush tool for masking the rings to the edge of the planet?
I generally prefer the Pencil Tool for hard-edged brushing.
I guess second too 😲
Marty!
