Love this vid. Been playing Disc a bit on and off while gearing my paladin and I always felt like I was lacking something, especially when people got low and I dont really have a good answer. This format was really helpful to understand a bit more about the in depth stuff
Ty for making this guide. It was quite helpful in helping me understanding the abilities more. I haven't healed since wrath on the priest where I was used to just bubble bubble bubble everything.
Hey man, I just recently ran into your stream and in turn your TH-cam. I am really enjoying the content while I look into other options from my current main (resto druid). Your skill and knowledge of the game pour through these videos and have helped me quite a bit! Just wanted to stop in and say keep up the good work!!
Do you prefer this style of highly-edited video for guides, or the longer fireside chat style of my Holy Priest guides? Trying to decide how I want to do my 10.2 guides.
History this xpac has been that reworked classes are extremely good afterwards, so let’s hope for that! I think they want it to be strong and popular for a bit, especially after how much it has struggled recently (mostly in raid)
It does not double dip. It increases your damage, which will affect your atonement healing, but there is not an additional multiplier. It increases direct healing.
You said it well, i love planning cds but cannot stomach playing disc in pugs because it has little opportunities for reaction to unpredictable damage. I find it easier to run holy in pugs
For sure. It’ll be easier to react to unpredictable damage in 10.2 than it has been due to ST heal increases and a simpler reduced setup time, but Holy will still fill the low to medium pug niche for me.
Great video - just what I was looking for. What addon did you use to give your screen this tint when you activated your shadow CD? Is it a weak auras string you could probably share?
Thanks! You can find all of UI details, including addons and WeakAuras on the spreadsheet linked in the description, but here's a link to the Shadow Covenant WeakAura. Hey Rag, I'm really struggling to get all those spells out within the SCov window (especially under pressure in a group). I find if I drop Halo it works better, is there something Im missing? (Haste 34%)
Hey man, I’m not entirely sure. The demonstration in the video was done with 31% haste, so I don’t think that’s it. I’d have to see what you’re doing to isolate the problem, but some potential issues I could foresee are: 1. Not prestacking your Harsh Discipline 2. Trying to refresh atonement more than once during the rotation (or hardcasting Radiance instead of having an instant proc) 3. Extra downtime running into melee to cast Holy Nova 4. General downtime between your casts, usually caused by unfamiliarity with spells when trying to weave TE If you need to cut a spell, I’d say Holy Nova or Halo would be ok choices, but you ideally want to keep the two Dark Reprimands and Mind Blasts. If you find the issue causing you to not fit all the casts in, let me know, I’m curious
It’s also important to remember that the rotation isn’t scripture; there are as many rotations as there are disc priests. The rotations in the video are just what I’ve gravitated towards and have found good value with because they fit in all of the spells that I want to prioritize. As long as you are prioritizing fitting in your high value spells (schism, penance, mind blast, SW:D, halo/star, holy nova, etc.) and do your best to weave TE, you will be fine. As you get more comfortable, you may find combos of your own that you gravitate toward 🙂
@@ragnongaming Awesome, thanks for the detailed reply. I've worked on the dummies, the total cast time of the rotation is about 13.5 sec in a 15 sec window, this is if I spam the keyboard and get the casts off perfectly. Fine on the dummies, but in combat, its very hard to pull off perfectly (moving for mechanics etc). Im presuming the last Dark Repromand is priority, so if I drop Halo all works much smoother.
@@CybreSmee Right on. Yeah, that last Dark Reprimand usually BARELY fits in the window for me, so dropping Halo would give more wiggle room. If you're going to drop something, I'd honestly drop Holy Nova over Halo though, because Holy Nova is only benefitting from Schism, whereas Halo converts to shadow and benefits from Schism + Shadow Covenant. Just use Holy Nova outside of your SC windows if you need to.
@@ragnongaming Perfect, yes it works much better. Not much DPS drop with HN gone and it gives an extra half-second to get everything else in. Also, Divine Star fits in better, plus its holy damages so win. Thanks mate!
Holy can be a more forgiving option when you are first getting started with priest in dungeons, so consider checking out my Holy Priest M+ guide for that. If you are set on disc, I’d recommend practicing the Basic Shadow Covenant rotation demonstrated in this video on a target dummy until it feels comfortable. Then in dungeons on trash pulls, do that rotation every 30 seconds regardless of damage, aiming to do it at least once per pull. Outside of these Shadow Covenant rotations, always maintain atonement on you and the tank (can do this easily by periodically flash healing the tank), and use all of your damage abilities except for Schism (which should be paired with Shadow Covenant). Use Rapture often, especially if running the Aegis of Wrath build shown in the video. When running that build, you can just use Rapture as a stand alone cooldown (which means cast Rapture, then spam Power Word: Shield on party members until Rapture ends), and aim to get as many uses as possible throughout a dungeon. Those are some quick tips off the top of my head, let me know if you have any more questions or if anything was unclear, and I’d be happy to help!

Glad it was helpful! Yeah, it’s definitely evolved a lot over the years, and continues to with the next patch

Made my day, thanks man ♥️
1st time i play priest and this is the only video that i learn how to play disc 😊.
Great video and best way to explain it 👍👍👍
Thank you, I’m glad it has been helpful!
Awesome guide, thanks mate!
You’re welcome, thanks for watching!

The way this video explained things was great !
@chocco21 Thanks!
This disc video style is better, thanks for your work!
A very well made video mate.
Great video, thanks
disc is gaining a lot of popularity and the rework looks promising, hopefully blizz doesn't hit it with a last minute nerf.

Versatility not only boosts your damage but also enhances your Atonement healing.
Correct, they are one and the same for disc

Hey mate, great video. What is the addon for the talent presets on the right of the talent window??
Thanks! Talent Loadout EX

any plans for disc raid video guide for Season 3?
Yes, planning to for next season. Doubt I’ll get one out for the current season though
I'm new too Priest what tip can you give me as a new player
