We are relocating to Brunswick. My hubby's will be an instructor at FLETC. The majority of his career had been at the Southern Border.
    Your channel has helped.

Can you smell the odor from the paper mills in Kingsland. I know the mills are NOT in Kingsland, but do the winds send the smell towards Kingsland, or is it spared?

@@LivingInTheGoldenIslesOfGA Ty, I have been asking people who I know live there as well because a family member who lives in Brunswick really wants me to move closer, but I will not consider Brunswick because of the paper mill.

Is there a good place to look into, outside of Brunswick, with less crime, better neighborhoods, decent house costs?
I'm looking at a position with Gulfstream aviation down there. They have locations in Brunswick and Savanah. Thank you.

How's the environment for a person of colour? After what happened in satilla shores i wonder if it's safe to walk down the street as a non white.

Current local: covid prices is kind of gotten a little high here outside of Glen county on an acre double wide trailer you’re looking at 175 225 but I will say look at Zillow this week. They are starting to recur you can still find undeveloped property raw land for under 10,000 acre

We’ve made numerous visits to Brunswick. I’m surprised you didn’t mention Gulfstream as a place to work or the historical sites to visit in and near Brunswick.

You're absolutely right. Gulfstream is a large employer here, and FLETC, too!

I bought a home out here a year ago and honestly ready to move back to a big city. I find it to be really boring here. I love my neighborhood and home but the geographical area is horrible, especially for a single young professional. My employment is remote so don't rely on the local economy for income.

That is one of the challenges I hear often. We love being close to Jacksonville and Savannah but not right in the city. I'm happy to help you sell if you do decide to move into a larger city!

Lol... I hear that! I mentioned that in my 10 things to know about BWK video... my daughter always comments on the smell when coming into Brunswick.

Hi Cassie, I enjoyed this video. I’m curious to know why you moved to Brunswick? I’m guessing for you or your husband’s jobs. 😊I’ve lived here for many years, my Dad’s home is SSI so we moved here when he retired from the military. I love to know how new comers happened across the Golden Isles…😊

Hi! So glad you enjoyed the video 😊 honestly, my husband was between jobs and we just felt God leading us here… we knew we wanted to stay in GA but wanted to be closer to the water … we took the leap of faith and he opened up the door for my husbands employment with the county Fire Department!

    Is it a sundown town?

    • @apexone5502
      @apexone5502 ปีที่แล้ว +4

No it’s not. Brunswick has a sizeable black population. I’m one of those Black people who grew up there. I still have family from both sides who still live down there.

    • @csnide6702

Hell no.... ! I'm surprised she didn't list the large Black population of Brunswick as one of her "cons".
South Georgia is ridiculously racist .

When I lived there, I saw more Asians being racist towards the black community then any others 🤷‍♂️

Definitely not sundown, but I agree, pretty racist. Confederate flags and swastikas. Had to scrub a bunch of swastikas off a conveyer belt when I worked at Walmart.

What I took from this vid was this: work from home? Want a cheap house with more space? Don’t mind driving over an hour to another real city? (Or airport) Only wanna eat southern cooking or seafood when going out? Don’t like seasons or outdoor activities that don’t revolve around a beach? Love mosquitoes & gnats with a passion? Don’t mind an occasional hurricane every now & then? Then come on down to good ol Brunswick. We’ll welcome you with open arms!!!

@ why can’t you go outside when it’s cold? Unless you’re old and have arthritis, you better layer up and slap that coat on. Gotta keep it moving!

Very upsetting and eyeopening when I heard about half the population defending the monsters who killed him. Then with the corrupt way the case was handled. Lots of racism sadly

Lol..After growing up going to FL beaches like Destin, the Atlantic definitely looks different since you can't see your toes. But I've come to love and appreciate the changing tides and the way our beaches never look the same!
