Another great video. I can't say enough about your videos and explanation. Very detailed and informative. Good luck with taking 1st in F Vee this season.
Many thanks but I think the chance of the title has come and gone, a couple of bad net codes and then last week I was too passive (as I didn’t want a net code to kill me) and I can’t really see a way to win it now. But after two 4ths in a row, I’d happily take a podium at this stage.
As always, legendary work Sam. I just dropped some laps ahead of watching this and did a 50.9 after 9 laps, with a 50.6 optimal. My prior best was 51.4... so half a second easily - the main gain has come from greatly improved trail braking, and that's come from watching your vids. Hoping I shave a few more tenths from here with your braking points and lines Also for anyone reading this... I recently took delivery of a couple of T Shirts from the store mentioned in the video description, awesome stuff - highly recommend... Get some awesome gear and support Sambo iRacing!
@@Sambo_iRacing Did a 50.2 in a race with some draft, otherwise just did a 50.7 in practice... which is about the max of my ability for now. Had a great race the other day, started 8th, got 2nd with a pass on the outside of the final corner on final lap - only in a Vee :) Unfortunately, that'll probably be me for the season as I'm heading overseas for work for a few weeks. Wishing you well for the rest of the season - Hope you can cling to the podium (or better)
Been very busy the last 2 or 3 weeks, I barely managed to get one race in on the past few tracks. I guess I know which tracks will be my drop weeks then. But I have to find more time this week, I can't pass up Okayama, it looks really fun. As always thanks for the awesome guide.
Thanks for posting these... As someone new to iRacing they are a huge help. How is your transmission set up. Tsukuba was my first track in the Vee so I just kept it in 3rd. This time around, the H-pattern and clutch add some complexity in those corners where you are shifting mid corner with some maintenance throttle. I can heel and toe pretty decently, but I'm pretty sure that downshift to 2nd mid corner will murder me.
@@Sambo_iRacing Nice, I assumed it wasn't an H pattern and foot clutch at the very least. So are you using that hand clutch for every shift or are you using one of the settings like auto blip in iRacing? I always thought that those hand clutches were just for launching and weren't typically used while driving... not to mention, the Vee's ancient transmission can be a bit argumentative.
@@wesd3370 I use the hand clutch for ever gear change year. I just pull both leavers at the same time on every gear change and it’s very very rare I miss a gear using them. Auto blip is a time killer, about 0.3-0.5 seconds per lap by my reckoning.
Im still not as quick as you but i am improving thanks for the effort that you put into these guides
No problemGary and it's great seeing your iR go up alongside that extra pace you've got.
Thanks Sam for another very helpful video. It really does help us rookies improve! Cheers
Happy to help!

Thank you! I’m looking forward to trying this track! (Been busy with work)

Great stuff mate. Hope all goes well with the job and see you next season!

I've put up a racing video there where I make a few passes. Easiest is into the hairpin (T5) and down the inside of T1.

I’m a big girl and use paddle shifters and a Simagic Dual clutch wheel rim buddy.
@@Sambo_iRacing Nice... I had a feeling it wasn't assisted, but also had a feeling it wasn't a foot clutch. Keep up the awesome videos.

@@Sambo_iRacing - haha Mindblown. I've been chasing your ghost all season using auto blip. I'll be faster next season
