Little correction: There was never a vote on the Meissen or Flughafen branch. During development, they just announced that none of these branches would be included (which lead to a huge outcry). And shortly before release, they announced that a small team was working on the Meissen branch after all (and at launch PC players with boundary-removal mods could already check out the almost-finished branch). I think this was one of the first major contributions of Lukas, who is now in charge of most of the German content. I’m pretty sure they decided on Meissen because of the more unique scenery (crossing the river with a view of the town etc.), since the Flughafen branch is basically just through forest all the time, plus the added challenge of the underground terminus.
Really like this route, and I hope that Kinzigtalbahn will also be great, it has lots of locos, both included and layered. It layers the Flixtrain 193, the Railpool 193, the Kassel-Würzburg ICE 1 and ICE 3, the Niddertalbahn DMU (I think it's the 682), the Maintalbahn DMU, etc. Seriously, alot of routes and I hope it's going to be as busy or more, specially with big stations such as Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof.
according to the roadmap it will be the busiest german route in the game (before the Köln - Aachen timetable update) a lot of AI only at fulda, hanau and frankfurt has been announced too. I expect the Kinzigtalbahn to be even more exciting than Dresden Riesa seeing as it is longer, busier, more stock, two times LZB, some GNT for the trains that have it. and the incredibly busy and interesting operations of the part between Hanau and Fulda.
The thing I love about the Dresden route is thats it’s the only route (that I own) to frequently use your custom liveries on timetable mode. And there’s a rare instance where a whole AI train that only uses your custom livery which is really cool
Although it tends to crash my game as I arrive to Dresden Hbf or the carriages take too long to load with the liveries it doesn’t show at all and it’s a engine-less consist
Also curiously the ICE 3 from Kassel-Würzburg doesn't have full routes selectable for the information screens (they only show the number of the service and the next station) while for some reason the one from München-Augsburg does have all of the full routes available for the information screens (for example ICE 612 München-Berlin Gessundbrunnen service does feature all the stations in between both cities on the information screens) I really hope Dovetail will at least adress this during the Köln-Aachen timetable update, whenever that gets released
Hey DC, I have been a fan for quite a while now, TSW5 has released, (early access) and i was wondering if you could test out the WCML see what you have to say!. Looking forward to this 👀
The expert 101 doesn't just layer on the route, it's a whole separate timetable to accommodate the cab car. As for the 363 having speed restricted, I mean, even in the high gear the top speed is 60km/h, and I can see the line speed being 5 under for protection purposes. IRL, each train in timetable has its Vmax, and it's often lower than design speed or even the PZB/LZB Vmax.
With SKA , HRRs 101 , the 193, the G1 aswell as several traxx variants and HKL there is a lot of stuff that layers alongside the default stuff The expert 101 and cabcar does layer on the route
Certainly I think it is good, despite some of the issues highlighted here. And the Expert 101 does layer on to the route with the cab car, and surprisingly the BR 218
I think that this route is pretty good. I feel like this was the height of the TSW franchise. In real life however, the DB BR 411 ICE T is the only ICE train that runs ICE services in real life on this route. The DB BR 406 ICE 3M only operates services from Frankfurt HBF to Brussels. It would be nice if they will layer the ICE T on this route
regarding the Issue with the ICE3M - It's not really realistic to have that one in Dresden to Riesa either, since it should be a BR411+BR415 set of the ICE-T variant. Hopefully, Dresden to Riesa gets an update once TSW5 is out to replace all ICE3 services with the more realistic ICE-T.
Ah, TSW2 Rush Hour. The height of the franchise. It's all gone downhill from there.
as long as we exclude the brighton mainline and its disgusting scenery
(yes the timetable is great but fuck me dtg what happened)

I wasn't aware of how the branch's addition actually went. Thank you for the explanation.

The Niddertalbahn DMU is the BR628. As for the Kinzigtalbahn, my initial impression of it is that it'll be like Nahverkehr Dresden, only more linear.

The Second Best German Route After Niddertalbahn
Edit: 2:10 Yes the Expert 101 layers this
I don't think I'd call it this on it's own, but the amount of layers it's received definitely makes it one of the best
The Expert 101 doesn't have any scenarios for Dresden-Riesa, only timetable services

When I got this route, it was a blast! (Partly because I don’t own any routes with the 363 or the talent 2)
The 363 in the older livery is realistic though, there’s quite a few locomotives that operate on the German network with heritage liveries.

Great Vid As Always, Can't Wait To See Ya Vids On TSW 5 And There Routes Espicelly WCML And 390 (Pendolino)

7:00 Once got the old locomotive that pushes the n-Wagen in Bremen Oldenburg and Linke Rheinstrecke (not the 103), instead of the 146.2 or 143.

That's interesting. I didn't know that the ICE-3M doesn't run here irl, and I agree with you regarding the hope for an ICE-T layer.
I'm sure within the week there will be a timetable substitution mod
9:14 You forgot the BR 187 and strangely BR 204 also layer as drivable

The Br 101 Expert layers on Nahverkehr Dresden and also At some point with TSW5 the ICE T For the Br 406 ICE3M
This is one of my favorite routes. There is just one thing that i don't like about this route and that is that no complete service can be driven.
I know that German n gauge layout, you planning on going to the Hamilton labour weekend model train show?
I won't be able to because I'm going to the South Island on that weekend.
Yes it’s annoying when they reuse assists but it’s to save on memory
How do i change the destination on the 406
