Oh fuck yes. I consider Forbidden Memories, Duelist of the Roses and Capsule Monster Coliseum to be the 3 greats of tugioh spin off games.

try the modded versions!, for capsule monsters you have libra mod who adds like 50 of 77 unused monster already programmed into the game (i couldnt belive that konami cut 77 monsters), add harder experience and balance general, its wonderful, duelist of roses has a mod for adding more cards (no more), but for fordibben memories they are A LOT of modded version, the Fordibben memories 2 (act as a sequel), the modded to gx rules one, and anothers ones

I agree with your list man ! I made an Earth, Wood, Thunder and Fire symbol and I must say my favorite was Earth. My second favorite is Thunder, third is Wood and fourth is Fire. Needless to say I had fun playing all 4 symbols. I unlocked all attribute capsules for each symbol and all 4 of the symbols are pretty powerful. Great video man.
I used earth in my most recent playthrough of vanilla cause I hadn’t played the game since I was a kid. Picked it without knowing the tier list.
Only issue I have with it is not even about gameplay. It’s just not a glamorous element. Most of the cool fusions/evolutions in vanilla are dark: exodia, gate guardian, magician of black chaos and more.
Meanwhile there aren’t any that cool earth fusions or evolutions in vanilla compared to other elements. And also the only really iconic light fusion is blue eyes ultimate. So if you want to use all those big super cool monsters there are better elements.
Also it’s a shame pp got nerfed in the mod. It’s crazy seeing how high it goes in vanilla. Once you max out the symbol effect Gaia can get over 1000 pp at level 2. There’s pretty much nothing that threatens them in vanilla.
Were millennium golem, rabid horseman and rock spirit not worth mentioning then? Rock spirit is the evolution of haniwa. I expected it to be good.

Great video, hope to see more content for this oft-forgotten game! Personally I wish the worse symbols buffed their pieces in interesting and odd ways so at least they had a niche. For example, it would be neat if the Water symbol buffed map and terrain rates by a lot, so Water monsters FLOURISH in actual water. Might be neat at least.

I assume that's in terms of the gameplay? In retrospect, I probably should've just kept it at normal speed, since it is a bit much on the eyes thinking about it now. Thanks for the feedback.

I've been watching parts of this video as background audio for sleeping etc. so pardon me if you mention this and I simply missed it: Is there an actual scene for PvP in this game? Are there any resources to look into, or any discord server to join? I'd be interested to check out how people are pulling this off. I'm a big CMC fan, and your videos on it are amazing btw!

By this I mean what stats each symbol boosts for the 2 elements they effect
Light : Increases Light and Earth attribute's Defense power. Also increases Light attribute's SPA Potency. Decreases Dark attribute's PP and their SPA Potency.
Dark : Increases Dark Attribute's Attack power and Thunder Attribute's Defense power. Also increases Dark attribute's SPA Potency (except attack nullification). Reduces Earth attribute's PP.
Fire : Increases Fire and Wind Attribute's Attack power. Reduces Wood attribute's Attack and Defense Power.
Water : Increases Water and Wood attribute's Defense power. Reduces Fire attribute's Attack and Defense power.
Earth : Increases Earth attribute's PP and Light attribute's Attack power. Reduces Thunder attribute's Attack and Defense power.
Wood : Increases Wood attribute's Attack and Defense Power, and Water attribute's Attack Power. Reduces Wind attribute's Defense power. Best symbol to use!
Wind : Increases Wind and Fire attribute's Defense power. Reduces Water attribute's Defense power.
Thunder : Increases Thunder and Dark attribute's Attack power. Reduces Light attribute's PP and their SPA potency.
This is an extra info about monsters. The rating scales from Very Low, Low, Normal, Decent, Good and Excellent. I will talk only about Offense, Defense, PP and Mobility.
Light Monsters :
Offense : Very Low
Defense : Decent
PP : Good
Mobility : Decent
Support types. Most Light monsters possess SPA, that's why Light Symbol will build up that power and their defense. If you want attacker Light, use Earth Symbol instead.
Dark Monsters :
Offense : Low
Defense : Normal
PP : Good
Mobility : Decent
Low offense makes their utility bad. So pick Dark or Thunder Symbol if you want to use them since both raises their atk power, but Dark Symbol will also power up Dark Monsters' SPA as well.
Fire Monsters :
Offense : Excellent
Defense : Low
PP : Normal
Mobility : Normal
Attacker types. Use Wind Symbol if you want them to be hardy, or Fire Symbol to turn them into killing machines.
Water Monsters :
Offense : Low
Defense : Excellent
PP : Decent
Mobility : Low
High defense monsters. Perfect to block off most enemy attacks. Use Wood Symbol to give them great offense ability or Water Symbol if you plan to play nice and slow.
Earth Monsters :
Offense : Decent
Defense : Very Low
PP : Excellent
Mobility : Very Low
Good attackers and good monsters to defend your pieces from one shot type enemies, but most are slow like snail. Use Earth Symbol to raise their PP more for countering burst damage (especially very high offense monsters), or Light Symbol to make them slightly hardy to low attack monsters.
Wood Monsters :
Offense : Normal
Defense : Decent
PP : Decent
Mobility : Decent
Bad monsters to use due to insignificant attack and defense power, that's why Wood Symbol gives them Offense and Defense power since there's no single Good point in their base stats. But if you use Wood Symbol with them, they're no doubt the best monsters.
Wind Monsters :
Offense : Decent
Defense : Good
PP : Low
Mobility : Excellent
Best attribute in game since there's no single attribute capable of lowering their powers, be it map or land form (except Wood Symbol that tones down their defense). Low PP, but high mobility and can't be easily destroyed. Use Fire Symbol to turn them into Assassins, or Wind Symbol to make them more hardy.
Thunder Monsters :
Offense : Good
Defense : Normal
PP : Very Low
Mobility : Good
Mostly gaining disadvantages due to land form and map. Plus their PP is so low that some monsters can one hit them with no problem. That's why Dark Symbols give them more Defense to defend against that better. But they are good attackers in game capable of severing most pieces, especially if you use Thunder Symbol. Not even Earth Monsters can defend against them if their attack is too high.

@@Fertyu9 I've played with all symbols and gained various experience from all of them. Water monsters enhanced by Water symbol cannot be severed so easily by normal Wind monsters. I also have some of the fixed pattern of advantage/disadvantage attributes when they battle each other except for Dark and Wind since I cannot find their exact damage calculation when they battle their opposites, but as far as I know, both deals HP based damage that scales with their attack power and enemy defense power. These are the fixed damage calculations I've found (rounded) :
Light attacking Dark : deals damage equal to 125% of Total Attack Power to the target. Ignores target's defense.
Light attacked by Dark : damage taken is halved.
Dark attacked by Earth : reduce attacker's Total Attack Power by 20% during damage calculation.
Fire attacking Wood : increases Total Attack power by 25% during damage calculation.
Fire attacked by Wood : halves attacker's Total Attack Power during damage calculation.
Water attacking Fire : increases Total Attack Power by 30% during damage calculation.
Water attacked by Fire : damage taken is halved.
Earth attacking Thunder : ignores target's defense.
Earth attacked by Thunder : reduces attacker's Total Attack Power by 25% during damage calculation.
Wood attacking Wind : increases Base Attack by 50% during damage calculation. Base attack can be increased through symbol.
Wood attacked by Wind : damage taken is halved.
Wind attacked by Water : reduces attacker's Total Attack Power by 25% during damage calculation.
Thunder attacking Light : reduces target's Total Defense by 50% during damage calculation.
Thunder attacked by Light : reduces map, land form, and SPA boost to 0. In other words, use attacker's Base Attack as the attack power during damage calculation (beware of Light enhanced by Earth Symbol!)
In the future, I recommend lowering the music video by a ton. It's really hard to hear what you're saying with the music so loud, especially when combined with the quality of the mic. If there was no music or the music was barely audible, it would be easier to hear you, but as is it's a struggle to hear anything you're saying without headphones.
