  • This is a short video showing people how to actually set up a gpm or a level 3rc panhard bar, the problem everyone I've seen is having is they don't move the servo connected steering arm to the same side as the Panhard bar and leave it connected to the drivers side of the vehicle and it seriously effects the geometry or the steering and suspension.

    I made a kit for my axial wraith. because I bought a metal cage frame and tossed the plastic one so there is no kit to fit it. Im basically copying the vanquish style axle clamp for the panhard and a panhard mount coming off the two servo mounts but went with lineing up the panhard with the steering link. Works great even with both shocks compressed all the way no bump steer. Video really helped me out. Thanks again

    A year after you made the video it's still helping people. I switched the steering arm and flipped the servo though. Thanks for explaining why my rc steered when the suspension was compressed. It no longer does this now. Thanks! 👍

    I used a single 55mm threaded rod from axial. works perfectly. your video really helpful.

    That looks really great. I think I will move my servo up to the chassis on my Unimog now. Thanks or the info (-:

      Jax Teller RC mine is the gpm chassis mounted servo bracket with panhard bar but I think there is one identical made by level 3 rc, or you can go full expensive and get a vanquish products one that's pretty much the same thing only 4 times as expensive lol

    To avoid the tire steer by itself when we do full compression... Does the longer steering link will solve the problem or providing a perpendicular panhard will resolve it?

    So if you would have used the link that came with the kit, that attached to the drivers side knuckle, would there have been no problems from the start? I'm curious because I'm about to order the same part.

      Eddie Mack the steering rod that came with the kit does attach to the driver side but when i installed it the body would lift when i turned the wheels from it not being on the same side as the pan hard bar, it has to be attached to the same side as the pan hard bar so it all works correctly. Thanks for the comment

    Looks like you could have flipped the servo and put the shorter drag link on the same side it's on now

      CRAWL HARD RC yes you can, i did consider that but i wanted to keep the steering geometry to eliminate bump steer, seems to work well but im not sure about flipping the servo so you can have a shorter connecting rod

    Would this work on boomracing phat axles?

    • @pmm4177
      @pmm4177  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Raiden Perez it should work basically the same with all axles. I now have the ssd rc axles and it worked the same way. Thanks for the comment buddy!

    Are you running the stock 3 link or just a drivers side link from a 4 link kit?

    • @pmm4177
      @pmm4177  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im actually running the stock 4 link on the front with a chassis mounted servo and panhard set up to eliminate bump steer. When you go to a chassis mounted servo you have to run a panhard bar to keep the front wheels pointed in the intended direction through the axle articulation range otherwise when you axle moved up and down the steering would move with suspension flex. Hope this helps buddy and thanks for the comment

      I removed one of my top links I was reading on a forum 4 link could bind. i had that issue but I have a wraith so mabey yours is different but mabey try that I noticed a big difference

    Or you could just flip your servo, and maybe the original rod would be enough :D
