FILM DESCRIPTION:
Two bicyclists are run down by a strange black car in the desert near a small town in Utah. But this is just the first in a series of hit-and-run murders. Sheriff Wade Parents (James Brolin) is called in to investigate, and his deputy, Everett (John Marley), is killed by the black sedan, which, some witnesses say, has no one behind its wheel. When the car threatens a local school parade, the lives of the town's children and Wade's teacher girlfriend, Lauren (Kathleen Lloyd), are endangered.

The Car movie is still scary. That is a clean looking car but why does the horn sound like a train? It's a classic just like the Exorcist. They just don't make movies like this anymore.

The car is either Satan itself, or a demon, so more accurately. The movie would be The Wraith vs Christine. And since both vehicles can repair them selves. Maybe indefinitely, this ability will be the cause. Of this movie, to have an extremely long run time.
The car would win. The Car is pure evil driven by the devil.

Okay. So questions. 1) Did King steal "The Car" story and create Christine? Him and his (supposed) son, Joe Hill, stole the "Duel" (Throttle) story in 2017. Worked once. Why not do it again? 2) Was the "werecar" in Futurama "The Honking" (season 3/episode one) a copy the car from this movie?
King said The Car was a major influence on the creation of christine, I don't know anything about throttle so i can't speak on that. Yes the "werecar" design is based off of The Car.
