Serbia is not sending ultimatum, but pleads for EU to fulfill it's part, and to condition Kosovo gov to fulfill it's part of obligation before letting it in other EU institutions.
This is a difficult matter. While the EU advocates for the preservation of the country's territorial integrity in the case of Ukraine and Georgia, it demands that Serbia give up its territorial integrity and renounce forever the territories occupied by NATO in the 1999 war. It is understandable that this offends the Serbs. If Serbia is rejected by the EU, Kosovo's EU integration may also be hindered and the stabilization of the Balkans will fail.

Instead of doing something to improve this, EU continued with pressure and made Serbia to sit down with government of Kosovo in order to normalize relations. Brussels agreement was signed in 2013, making concessions to Kosovo but guarantees for Union of Serbian municipalities. Most of concessions to Kosovo government were fulfilled but Serbs never got their most important condition fulfilled. Albin Kurti said on many occasions that he will not create Union of Serbian municipalities as he never agreed on that and he didn't signed that Brussels agreement. Instead of sanctioning Kosovo or cutting support for Kosovo, EU kept the pressure on Belgrade. As a result of EU policy toward it's Serbian supporters, people feel insulted, lied to, tricked, sold out. Everything Serbian ultra nationalists were warning people of came true. So supporting EU after everything that happened is not logical at all. Then after war in Ukraine started, western politicians all united to preserve the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. Western politicians are saying to Serbia to accept Kosovo's independence since territorial integrity and sovereignty are things of past, it doesn't matter, lets move forward. Now somehow, when it's not the Serbs, and the invader isn't NATO, now it's not obsolete, now war is a very good option, peace is not. Well as someone who was a refugee and felt NATO bombs falling just 300m from my home, I can say that EU is sending mixed signals. Best example of western hypocrisy is the shelling of Sarajevo in 1992-1995 by Bosnian Serbs. As a result of this, Serbs were bombed by NATO, UN sanctions were imposed for excessive use of force against civilians, as it was explained. Well Ukraine armed forces are shelling predominantly Russian city of Donetsk 2014-2024. They fired most likely 3 times more shells on the city, killed more civilians then Bosnian Serbs, more than 700 childred so far. What the west did? How was Ukrain punished for using excessive force against it's citizens? Did NATO bombed them, NO, they are arming them and training them. Did UN imposed sanctions on them NO, they send them billions of financial aid. All this made Serbs who once supported joining the EU think about double standards used toward Serbs. So no, thank you, Serbs don't want to be a member of EU who is acting as enemy of Serbia.
@@uschurchEver thought that Albanians in Kosovo rebeled from 1920 to 1922? Then in 1941 they welcomed Germans as liberators and with German help started to force out the Serbs. Then they rebeled again in 1968. And again in 1981. And again in the mid 1990s.

Not everything is roses and rainbows in Serbia but there is steady growth and the demographics are still far better in Serbia than they are in neighbouring Bulgaria, the Republic of North Macedonia and Bosnia Herzegovina. @@An89Go The loss of people is around half a million since 2009 (the year the global financial crisis hit). Serbia was also affected because many Serbs back then worked in Greece and Italy which were hit harder than other European countries so they couldn't send money to their relatives and that caused a domino effect - increased immigration to Northern and Western Europe from Serbia proper. However, some of those who left during these 15 years returned for various reasons (also because those who didn't find employment could not stay for longer than 6 months and many Serbs return to retire in their villages and towns in Serbia because their Swiss and Austrian pensions afford them a much better retirement than had they stayed in Zurich or Vienna). The biggest wave was in the years 1988 - 1995 when 800,000 - 900,000 Serbs left mainly to German speaking countries and to the US and Australia but around 250,000 of those were Serbs from Bosnia Herzegovina and Croatia. Note that i did not mention Romania 🇷🇴 nor Hungary 🇭🇺. It is because the demographics in Romania and Hungary are similar to those in Serbia 🇷🇸 except for one major difference. In Romania and Hungary the Roma population is around 11% of the population and also 30% - 33% of newborns. This means that Serbs as an ethnicity are actually the only non-Roma ethnicity in the Balkans that has a fertility rate that is close to that of the replacement rate (it is 1.75 - 1.8 births per ethically Serbian woman compared with only 1.3 for ethnically Romanian and 1.4 for ethnically Hungarian women. Serbian women have a higher fertility rate than their Balkan neighbours for various reasons. Women in villages and small towns typically marry in their twenties not their thirties which is the case in RO and HU and also Croatia 🇭🇷 which has an abysmal fertility rate of only 1.2. Today is Easter in Catholic countries so if you happen to be in a Catholic majority country such as Hungary, Croatia or Slovenia you can visit any church and see that more than half of them are closed (incredible but true) and that those that are open are not crowded. @bullshitdepartment7638 Since restoration of Serbian leadership and state 1804, many times Serbia was not having great relations with Russia, or even bad relations or were on brink of war. During Obrenović dynasty we were mostly under the influence of Austrohungary, 1815-1842 and 1858-1903. During that time Russia did not see Serbia as reliable allay, and saw Obrenović Serbia as Austrohungarian satellite. After Berlin congress, in spite of it, with Russian support, Bulgaria expended it's territory. Serbia declared war on Bulgaria 1885. and lost. So even tho we did not declare war to Russia, that was the war against Russian interest at the time. After the fall of Obrenović dynasty (1903), Karađorđević dynasty had positive shift toward Russia and shift against Austrohungary. That was the time we had "Customs war" with Austrohungary. We also opposed Austrohungary anexation of Bosnia and Hercegovina, where even today live a lot of Serbs. First world war is an example of good relations with Russia, but after Russian Soviet revolution, we opposed new socialist government, since we were still monarchy. So, 1918-1941 we were extremely against Russian government and we supported fled Russian monarchists. During ww2, we, in Serbia, had 2 uprisings, pro monarchists and pro socialist uprising against nazis. Socialist one won the war, and with the help of Soviet Russian liberated Serbian and all of Yugoslavia. After the ww2, we had short excellent relations until 1948, so only 3 years. There was the dispute between Stalin and Tito or if you will split between these 2 Communist Parties. Since that moment we were on brink of war until Stalin died 1953. Somewhere before Stalin's death in 1953 Yugoslavia signed in Ankara Balkan Pact with Greece and Turkey. The treaty was to act as a deterrence against Soviet expansion in the Balkans and provided for the eventual creation of a joint military staff for the three countries. After death of Stalin, there was no or far less chance of Soviet invasion, but our relations never recovered. Yugoslavia has chosen Non-Aligned path, actively participating in forming of Non-Aligned Movement. During Yugoslavia, Yugoslavia was strong opponent to cooperation with USSR and we actively discouraged any Non-Aligned Movement member that wanted or advocated for closer cooperation with Russians. Serbia as newly independent country after desolation of Yugoslavia 1991.. had time to warm up relations with Russia, but it was not getting "this good" until late 90. Then during "Democrats" after 2000 until 2012 we had ok relations, but EU and Germany was our main focus, but since then, were weren't really hostile to Russia, but we didn't have over what to be... Basically, among people during 90, propaganda was about Russia hero that came to help us during ww1, so that is the basis of people support for Russia. After that, Russians supported us in some weapons and they didn't recognize Kosovo, so popularity of the Russia grow among people...

We don't give a fuck for Russia, their system or politics. We were in confrontation with them in 1948. After that they invaded Hungary, Czech... so you can understand how brave it was in that time. We simply love freedom. We were fighting against any empire no matter how big they were or how small we are.
You, as an American should know fact or two more.
Serbs were pro-Western after ww2. We stayed outside iron curtain. Serbs were traveling abroad just to have modern outfits and new music, rock and roll, parties, freedoms. That's what you represented once for us. Now, you invade us, take most precious peace of land. Land where we have millennium old monasteries and heritage, where our faith have it's source. You helped, or even more true, organized separatism that had as an consequence ethnical cleansing of our nation from their native areas in Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo. Almost million of Serbs left houses and land where they lived more than millennium. You did all sort of illegal and inhuman evils to our nation. Against all rules, laws, UN charters...
We were allies always, try to read about saving of the USA pilots. Operation Halyard. Biggest rescue of the ww2.
You're not what you have been. Russia at least never invaded us. Killed our kids or ethnically cleansed us from our homes. As an difference, they know how to be grateful for our help and support us at least where they have voice... that's enough for us.
I really don't know how can people from USA still think of themselves as something positive?
In my opinion, USA is the greatest evil of this planet in the past half century.
I will repeat...Serbs fight any empire or help anyone, depending on the situation.
When it was needed to liberate Balkan from ottomans, we have bleed, when it was Austria - Hungary also, Hitler also...always raised voice over injustice and for freedom.
Maybe it is unknown fact for you but Serbia officially condemned Russian invasion, helped Ukraine with aid, support their UN borders...we condemned officially everything out of UN law. Same things USA did to us, even much worse...
Hope you understand it better now. We are proud and old nation with extraordinary achievements and heritage. Even if we know we will disappear... We will fight for justice and never, never, NEVER accept force with our heads down. We will find the way, die fighting or outlive evil

I see here people think that Serbia abandoning the EU wouldn't be a big deal for the EU. But if Serbia actually does this where will the government of Serbia turn next? To China primarily for finance, and Russia for everything else. Not to mention that this would potentially mean China and Russia actually building military bases and being deeper integrated into the middle of the Europe (since Serbia would need protection from further EU and NATO pressure, economically and militarily) with easy access to influence all other aspiring EU candidates. Bosnia and Hercegovina would break apart first, then Montenegro will do something as it has Serbian majority, an invasion of Kosovo (if you can even call it that since no country can invade parts of itself) ...
I don't think that would be fun for the EU to deal with.
Not to mention that Serbia has an alternative. BRICS.

Btw, the only thing keeping Serbia on the EU path is the government. Vast majority of people don't want to join the EU neither. We've given up enough.

As a Bulgarian respect both Serbians and Albanians, and already moved on with historic issues. Serbians in the past had more enemies during Yugoslavia and tensions with the Albanians. I think Serbia can use diplomacy with Kosovo. Bulgaria lost North Macedonia because it is just "too late" and similar to Kosovo, there is a very strong anti-Serbian rhetoric similar to the strong anti-Bulgarian one in North Macedonia. In the Balkans we are all traumatised with history and hence failing to progess a society. Kosovo is made up of an overwhelming Albanian population and not Serbs. Have the feeling they are logically more attached to Albania. Same as North Macedonians more attached to the rest of ex-Yugoslavia. It is what is. Serbia today has a strong challenge and divided between the EU and Russia and logically still traumatised by NATO. But, a decision should be made.

As for the Serbs - 300K Serbians were, in effect, ethnically cleansed from Kosovo after the NATO bombing. Those people still own a lot of land in Kosovo. 150K are still there in around Mitrovica. That is a lot of people if you consider that Kosovo has 1,7M. total population.
They are being actively threatened by Kurti and are frequently beaten and even killed. Kurti and gang even put a huge “UCK” sign on the hill overlooking Mitrovica - just to antagonize all Serbs down there. They have been living in terror for a long time - exactly the reason why Vucic threatens to go in and protect them. There is even an UN resolution allowing him to do so - research if you need to.
In all, considering the amount of arguments missing from this video, I see TLDR News EU as just another puppet shoveling the same CIA/EU garbage as the entire west corporate media.
EU had over 80% support in Serbian population until 2008 unilateral declaration of independence of it's south province of Kosovo. EU supported Kosovo over Serbia by putting lot of pressure on Serbia to accept and recognize Kosovo's independence. Serbian people was disappointed by these EU measures and popular support started a steady decline.

The loss of people is around half a million since 2009 (the year the global financial crisis hit).

They were and are still pro EU (SNS). Serbia was many times in History against Russia, and could be tomorrow. This, and previous video, is just overblown, probably for views. Serbia (or Vučić) is not sending ultimatum but literally plead for help for EU. EU is guaranty of document signed back in 2013. Serbia fulfilled everything from that document, that was part of normalization process, Kosovo gov didn't do shit and are openly saying that they will not do anything. Serbia is not sending ultimatum, but pleads for EU to fulfill it's part, and to condition Kosovo gov to fulfill it's part of obligation before letting it in other EU institutions.
@@CarNikola135 " Serbia was many times in History against Russia"
...enlighten me
@bullshitdepartment7638 Since restoration of Serbian leadership and state 1804, many times Serbia was not having great relations with Russia, or even bad relations or were on brink of war.

All of this is overblown and not as important in Serbia. There is no ultimatum, you are just seeing things. Serbia is not in position to issue any ultimatum. Also, Vučić when he came to power wanted to recognize Kosovo, but as he saw that he could lose next elections because of that he backed down. He (and serbs in Kosovo and Metohija) are just desperate that we are not getting almost any support in EU, while they call on both sides to agree and normalize, but at the same time, Kosovo gov didn't do anything but signed the agreement in 2013 and didn't do anything from that agreement. Serbia did everything we were asked, and Kosovo gov is openly saying they are not going to fulfill what they signed. So stop presenting us as aggressors. We plead for your help.

60% of Serbs don't want to join the EU, because too long they postpone the joining and we would need to give one part of our territory. No, it is not "the countries who accept the EU's conditions have democratic progress;" it is "to be accepted to the EU these countries must have democratic progress." Your wording makes it seems like it is just a label given without any metrics. There are measurable and verifiable metrics countries need to meet if the WANT--ie of their own free choice--to integrate with the EU further. Serbia is no where near close on meeting EU standards.
Further, the standards crated by the EU reflect those of some of the most successful and dynamic countries in the world and are seen as a template for success--as has been proven the case in many now EU countries. Serbia and Serbians and other Eastern Europeans can whine all they want, but none of them have been able to create similarly successful societies; hence why more people LEVE those countries the migrate to. That Serbia is something like Kaliningrad inside EU / NATO space was known for a long time. But now it comes more concrete.
Your comment shows the actual problem here. Everything you wrote is completely Brussels-centric. Serbia was bombed with uranium by NATO just 25 years ago. One sixth of our territory was illegaly taken from us. The Serbs in Kosovo are living in a persistent nightmare and have no rights.
