    It's always amazing to me how small exercises like this can make such a dramatic difference almost immediately. Before I watched your video, I tried singing the first verse, pre-chorus, and chorus of a song I wrote a few months ago. It sounded okay but I could tell I was struggling a little on the higher notes. After doing these tongue exercises with your video, I sang the same parts again and not only did I not struggle on the higher notes, they actually felt stronger and sounded better. Thanks! It's always nice to stumble across a vocal coach online that explains things in a way that works with my brain (many don't) and who provides exercises that are simple and effective. I'll definitely be checking out more of your vids!

      Wow John, thank you for your comment. I am so happy that the exercises help :)) And yes, it is so true, the most important thing for a good singing & authentic expression is relaxed body. That is why tongue exercises help so much. If you have any other questions, please let me know. I wish you all the best on your singing and songwriting path :)) N

    Thank you sooooo much. A bout of covid in 2020 damaged my voice which was soprano and now tends to deepen like a man's voice.
    It takes a long time to loosen up to even sound a little more feminine but your exercise quickened that process.

    I have A LOT of tongue tension according to the last exercise. Thank you for all of this. 🙂

      We all have lot of tongue tension :)) But with awareness of it and tongue exercises it can slowly become more relaxed & then singing becomes easier. Also our tongues are different, so if you feel that one exercise is not good for you, you don't need to struggle with it. Find some that you will feel that is beneficial for you. :) If you have any other question, please let me know :)

    woah! ive never seen any tongue tension exercises like these, so they were fun to learn! i also appreciated the little lesson on anatomy lol, it helped me visualize things better. now im wondering though why would we want to use our nasal cavity to help resonate if all the air can just come through the mouth? wouldn't that make it louder and clearer?

      Hi there!! Really glad you liked the video :)) Nasal cavity is really important for boosting the sound.. it ads space to our "vocal trumpet". More space = bigger sound :)) I have a video on a topic of vocal power. Check it out: th-cam.com/video/9vs17HwNMOE/w-d-xo.html

    Hi again, How long did it take for your tongue to Not interfere with your singing, and coordinate with your breathing. Sorry for asking so many questions. Thank you .

    • @natasanahtigal24
      @natasanahtigal24  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Dayne, no worries. I am happy to answer all of your questions. It can take a couple months... but more important is that you are being nice to yourself and train all the moves gentle. So don't use force to relax tongue. Thank you are again creating tension. Be aware of your tongue. Visualise that your tongue is relaxed and then do small movements. :) Let me know how it goes :))

    Interesting. I have no problem doing lip trills but the moment I include vowels I start to feel strain. Maybe this will fix it. I’ll try it out thx!

    • @natasanahtigal24
      @natasanahtigal24  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, try it out. In my opinion tongue tension is one of the main reasons for staining in singing. The other one is jaw tension. Planning to record a video about that soon. :))

    I have a very weak tongue control, I can't naturally move the tip of my tongue down or roll it in any way. I can only move the tip of tongue up. I didn't know that was suppose to be the natural restilng position for my tongue as well until today from another youtube video. What you suggest for me to do to gain control the tip of my tongue to move in different positions?

    • @natasanahtigal24
      @natasanahtigal24  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi :) Thank you for your question. We all have different tongues and it is nothing wrong if you can not do some movements with your tongue. It also depends on the size and position of our lingual frenulum. Sometimes that also stops the movement. But even if some movements are not as possible as others, it is great to train it. With exercises and massage you can relax the root of the tongue and train the tip of the tongue to become more moving. I will do a video with some tongue tip exercises soon :)) If you have any other questions, please let me know. Best, Natasa

    Hello Thanks for the awarness of the tongue I am wondering if you have an exercise for clearing phlegm from vocal cords. I use an inhalor for asthma, and my vocal cords get covered with the powder. Thanks lu

    I have a question about phlegm. I notice that every time I sing high notes, I start producing phlegm in my throat and it gets in the way of my singing. I know I must be doing something wrong and I don't know what it is, so frustrating.

    • @natasanahtigal24
      @natasanahtigal24  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for your question, and I am sorry you feel frustrated with this. Do you tense your neck and lift your larynx while singing high notes? When we put too much tension on our vocal cords, they can start to produce excess mucus, causing you to feel the need to clear your throat.
      If your singing technique is good but you still experience this, it is possible that you have more mucus due to reflux, allergies, cigarettes, etc. Our vocal cords stretch to create higher sounds, and then the mucus gathers in one spot, making us feel phlegm in our throat. What do you think could be the reason in your case? 😊
      What helps is: Hydration (drinking enough water) / Using a nebulizer (hydrating vocal cords from above) / Dealing with reflux (you can check my video about reflux)
      One important thing: try not to clear your throat too much because that can hurt your vocal cords, causing them to produce more mucus, leading to a vicious cycle of throat clearing and more mucus. 🙈 You can check my live video where I gave a great exercise on how to clear phlegm. 🤩👉 th-cam.com/users/live5QtqURUhRkY?si=qB0t67OxbRQLFf-t&t=557
      Let me know if you have any other question. I would love to help ;)

      Thanks for your response! I think I might be letting my larynx go up, I never knew about the larynx staying in place, this is new to me, so much to learn still ...not so easy as it sounds. ..at least not for me 😞

    • @natasanahtigal24
      @natasanahtigal24  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, we never stop learning with singing and our voice. There's always something new that comes up. And yes, sometimes this can be overwhelming. 🤪 But we can take it as growing, developing, and getting more and more in tune with our voices. Same is happening to everybody that is exploring and learning about their voice. So no need to feel bad about it! Be proud of yourself that you are working on yourself :)
      I will talk about how to find the right larynx position this week. I'll let you know. 😉
