    I've only got 150 miles on a 2022 trail so we'll see what the future holds but they made some upgrades for sure. Battery is way up front under the front cover, they changed the hinge system on the front rack/cover. I've winched out of snow a couple times this spring and had no electrical issues. Everything seems well thought out on the new model. Hopefully the reliability is there down the road.

    I have a 2016 Sportsman 570 with power steering with 300 miles and when I plow snow it shuts off when I get to the end where I push the snow into the snow bank. Has done this from day 1 since I bought it. Dealer says they have no idea why it does this

    I’m not sure if they did those lights on purpose like that but back in the day on the Sportsman 500 HO’s, you could find this sweet spot between Hi and Lo on the headlights and it would turn all three on.

    I got a cheap 2017 last summer and it has been running well. The one problem is the battery location, when plowing it shuts off randomly IDK if those are related though

    • @offroadsk2763
      @offroadsk2763  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine does that too when it’s been in snow, never without it so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the issue, or could be a sensor near the same location getting wet. Some guys told me to use white grease on connection points to help keep the moisture out. Maybe try that? Happy riding!! They are good little quads other than that!

    I bought a 2014 polaris sportsman 570 eps brand new in 2014, I have had no issues... until last week lol. Keep in mind, my four-wheeler has always been garage kept its hole life, and has just over 1400 miles on it. Started it last week and it was idling pretty high, I checked EVERYTHING! Finally figured out that it spun the flywheel and sheared the key way on the crank. Now, I get to fix that and do a valve job because they hit the dang piston.. all that being said, still love the machine! Will go almost anywhere I need it to. This sh!t better not happen again or it's getting a "for sale" sign lol

      That’s awesome that you’ve had no problems until now and that’s a long time without any! Mines garage kept but I’ve got close to that many miles on mine already! Haha it’s only been just over a year now.

    • @matthewcore452
      @matthewcore452 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I mainly plow snow with it. I live in Alaska and, it snows here. 😆 taken it hunting a few times, the ground clearance was horrible! I have added heavy duty springs, did the battery relocation to the rear (and installed a bigger battery), 2 inch lift (that I might take off if 28's fit without it) and built a custom rack for the front and rear. You can search it here -2014 polaris sportsman 570 front rack. The stock racks just suck lol.
      After I get it fixed, she will be getting a clutch kit and tires. I'm honestly just after ground clearance. And somewhere along the trip I will upgrade my axles, whenever they break lol.

  • @wallyllaw

    In 2021 model the battery is moved up and it's much stronger. Seems that Polaris have really listened their customers on this one. I am waiting mine to arrive today. Hopefully there are not too many problems with it.

    • @offroadsk2763
      @offroadsk2763  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea the 21’s seem to be a lot stronger built! I hope you get it today! Happy riding. What color did you get? They have some nice colors for 2021!

    • @wallyllaw
      @wallyllaw 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@offroadsk2763 I got a white one with EPS. My teenage daughter said it must be white and she will be using also. I'd be happy with the basic green color but that white one is actually pretty nice.
      That thing arrived already and I have never had such fun plowing snow. Only somehow it didn't feel EPS was there some times, though I haven't tried the model without EPS and my only ATV experiences are like from 10 ago so it's hard to tell how it should feel.
      Front storage cover is often cursed by reviews on 2021 model as it doesn't seal like it propably should. Also there is no storage compartment in the back, though I will have a large and lockable storage box to be installed later so that's not really an issue for me.

    • @offroadsk2763
      @offroadsk2763  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wallyllaw that white is very nice looking. I was hoping to get a plow for mine too! Hmm that’s strange, when mine is working... lol it is seamless steering. But when the light goes on it’s only after I stop then the light goes on. Then I have to turn the machine off and on again for it to work.
      I saw the new storage was different, but I like the clips on the 21’s way more. Easier replacement if the clip band stretches out. And storage on the back is definitely the way to go.

      Haven’t gotten it switched out yet, everywhere I’ve called they are out of batteries for it or it’s the same one I have now. And online they are a little over priced. So I have my dealership looking at getting one in for me. I’ve talked to a few guys and a new battery was all they needed to fix their issues. Very similar to mine, so fingers crossed! I got a 2019 570 sportsman EPS and had the same thing happen. it did turn out to be the battery and I have since upgraded to the better battery. what I found with the old battery was that the voltage got really odd and would fluctuate really bad. sometimes it got too low and the wheeler wouldn't start then other times the voltage was way too high and it shut off the EPS. another thing I found is that the check engine light will come on in the winter time when plowing for two different reasons. first is the sensor in the front wheels if this sensor gets packed with snow it trips the engine light. the second is when you push into a snow pile and your wheeler stops moving forward and the wheels keep spinning. there is a sensor that trips if they spin too long. other then this it is a great machine and so far the new battery has been great.

      I’m not sure if that’s a liability thing or if things have changed since. Either way I don’t mind coming to a stop regardless so I know I’m good, but you’re supposed to be able to throw this into AWD while driving, AS LONG AS your wheels aren’t “slipping”. That’s when you cause issues, the awd system is supposed to engage your front wheels when your back wheel lose traction. So in theory, the switch doesn’t engage your front tires, the back tires losing traction does. So if you were to engage the switch while the back wheel are already “slipping”, it would be bad news bears.

    • @olivermeier2949
      @olivermeier2949 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      polaris sells performance above all so there are compromises to be made somewhere to the rest of the vehicle to meet a sales price point,which can include parts and suppliers fees,pay for r&d engineering staff,whatever. Can am is the same.If your looking for performance it's polaris or can am,nothing japanese will give you that thrill at this time as the brute force is the hottest japanese atv but it wont best them. Even their cars don't hold a candle in perfomance when ford makes a shelby and gm the corvette for brute power. They want short term profit while the japanese know if it's breaking all the time ,people will eventually say why bother owning it and instead look at repeat customers and keep improving on a design and won't just change something and let the customer test it at their expense. Ever since they broke with fuji,there reliability has suffered across the board for polaris,especially their 2 strokes in sleds.The rest of it would break but at least the engine and transmission would last so it was worth fixing. Japanese wiring is a lot better than polaris,they dont over stress their platforms,they dont make a dozen versions of the same thing which creates chaos for everyone,they don't want recalls and hold their supplier liable with smart contracts and employees are accountable . I worked for toyota and If toyota or honda receives a bad part they return the entire delivery at the suppliers expense and bill them for the shutdown costing wasted hours for reinspection of each part and time frames to meet under contract.The japanese are ruthless businessmen but you get what you pay for.

      I’ve thought about that! Lol might just trade it in for a new machine in the fall. Now that there’s warm weather and the snow is gone I haven’t had any issues with it. I’ll be doing a new update video around 600miles I think. Do you ride? If so what’s your brand of choice?

      @@offroadsk2763 Ridden a bunch of stuff. Been a Polaris guy with wheelers and snowmobiles for a long while now, but mostly because I'm familiar with them. Every brand has issues, but I can tell you one thing, and the internet can let me have it, but it's a LOT cheaper to diagnose and fix a Polaris than anything else. Try and tell me I'm wrong Can Am dudes.
      Bought a brand new '18 570sp, and have been lucky with it to today. Been dunked, bottomed out hard, and lined up on pavement against a couple big bore machines.
      The keyboard warrior would say I won every race. We all know that is far from the truth. But, against some twin motors, from a dead stop, I get out on them, and then they creep up and blow my doors off.
      On the trail, you will not beat this nimble little machine though.
      I hope you get yours figured out. When I bought mine, first question was, "why dafuq did they move the battery right there?" The answer was..." everybody asks that."
      Dumbest shit I've ever seen. Of course the relocation kit is sold out.
      Do me a favor, and let me know what you figure out, I like learning shit.

      @@n8n876 I run my 570 against 750’s and win by a couple quad lengths as long as I get the jump off of the line.. the only thing I’ve gone against that smokes me no questions asked so far is my brothers sportsman 850 lol. I love this machine minus the battery. I will let you know for sure... we are going to be fabricating up a relocation kit ourselves. Even if I trade in. I’ve had a few guys tell me there’s did the same thing. Upgraded the battery no issues after that. Regardless of it being fine now without the snow I’m gonna relocate it because it’s a stupid spot for a battery lol. The can am guys are like mopar guys they are always right and always better.. I like dodge but I’ve had a few and they come with their own set of problems. No machine is different to that. Have had some great conversation with you. Thank you for your interaction!
