  • AEG have updated the 58V line trimmer.
My original unit had a motor burnout and was replaced by the current model under warranty.
The process to change the line is identical, just looks a different.

I have to add to the multitude of people thanking you. If not for your video, I would have been stuck trying to decipher the cryptic and poorly printed images in the "manual" that was included with my whipper snipper. Thanks once again, you're a life saver!

True lol. I looked at the manual today. Shocking. Just a few pics showing little and telling nothing.

The only video that made it simple. Thank you.

Your straight to the point video has enabled me the achieve something I gave up on 12 months ago and then resorting to trimming edges with my hands. But this time I was determined to work it out and yours is the second video that has showed me how to do it as they must be all different and I needed to find an AEG cordless snipper instruction video. The only extra thing that was fully needed to complete the task once started was elbow grease and strong fingers and thumb. Thanks again ;)

You can also take the centre off and feed it through the spindle tunnel if you keep feeding it into the abyss and it doesn’t show up on the other side. Place the wire in the metal groves, push cap back down and then wind up.

Thanks for the update. I eventually found the rewind is much easier when you push down on the centre knob.

Yes, thanks, that's actually an essential part of the instructions that is missing from this video. I got frustrated finding that it didn't go through but it went straight through when I pushed that down.

Me too! I’d just finished saying to my son, These things are stupid! They need to figure out an easier way. (Because the manual was useless and I was trying to wind it on manually 😂 - which I’ve five before and remember what a pain it was!) Watched this vid and did it in about 1-2 minutes! So easy! No need for a redesign after all 😂😂

@@chrisjones5572 It is lighter but the 58v model has a 43cm cutting circle while the 18v has a 33cm cutting circle. I've had my 58v line trimmer for four years now & love it (although I have at times thought about including the 18v version for more awkward situations). I added the 58v Brush Cutter (with bike handle) model instead.

Yep, good video. The “manual” is crap. But to squeeze the retaining clips in while simultaneously pulling the spool cap off you need either hands like a gorilla or two people. Preferably one of those people should not be your wife! My nose will heal up on its own but it’ll be bent for life.
