hello, I know this is an old posting, but wondering if this pole lasted, I purchased a similar one today, and mine says 30 ft, but only plan on extending it for 20 or 25 seems to wobble to much for my liking , did yours do that? thanks Bill
Personal preference for sonotube width but be careful because you can have a 10" flash collar and if you use a 10" sonotube you have to be perfect in your execution to marry up the pedestal with the flash collar, avoiding a misfit overlap awkward look.
i Have a Question I am going make mine out of a Galvanized Steel Pipe 3 of them 10 feet a piece so there a little heavy duty and so will 4 feet & 8 inches round be good enough? i am having hard time figuring out how deep to go?
Chicagoman36, sorry to get back to you so late. Set depth maximizes its own strength at 10% the height of the flagpole. With three welded galvanized pipes that translates to 3' set depth.
We do not normally use gravel at the bottom of the hole. I know it is sometimes specified by some architects. It seems drainage and/or leveling is being considered. Appreciate your bringing that up as an oversight. What are the soil conditions where you are flying the flag?
Over here (i.e. Sweden) it seems like it's always recommended to place gravel at the bottom of the hole, regardless of the soil conditions. Not only for drainage and/or leveling but mainly for soil frost reasons; without gravel the flagpole will be pushed upwards (frost heaving).
Music, too much, not needed in the main video, just use it for intro and outro - also the mix makes it really hard to hear what he is saying. Remix and repost.
Thank you Dan, for the excellent feed back on production quality. You can see we are just relating with the experience and sharing it. We are not inside a studio or doing any retakes on these video's, we are just trying to give what we can give.
I just did a custom flag pole, my flag mounts should be arriving today to get the flags up.
Sounds interesting. WHat did you use to make it?
You are the all-time champion of overkill! I salute you 🤘👍
You and that coffee can! Its' made several appearances in the flag videos now :)
Great video! What perfect weather you had for filming!
i guess I am kind of randomly asking but does anybody know a good site to watch newly released movies online?
whats the purpose of all the sleeves? What would be wrong with just putting the pole in a hole and filling it hole with concrete?

No rebar in the cement? I would think it would help make the cement column stronger?
How wide should the sonotube be if my flagpole is 5" diameter? Or is it just personal preference?

are your flag poles mad in the U.S.A.?
100% made in the USA, Thank you FlameCranium for inquiring about that fact. There are a lot of imports now.
Ummmm... Where's part 2??
The sound effects are distracting.
The material part was hilarious

Could be a great video. The music is a huge distraction from what you are saying and not even remotely necessary.
The sound effects are annoying. I couldn't watch the whole film. Sorry.
YOUR "MUSIC" (NOISE!) IS IRRITATING!
