    I have watched several tutorials for this game and up until this one, their explanation was too all over the place or not showing the pieces and play clear enough, this is the first one that has been clear, going from one point to another in a good clear flow and showing all pieces and actions clearly. Thank you, you did a wonderful job and I appreciate that you even played the game to show everything in action.

    After watching this and seeing Dave explain another game I can honestly say that I'll be buying this game once it's available because it's fast. easy, and looks like a blast to play. I don't care that it took a while to explain this game because I'd rather know all the rules prior to playing a game then being told of some "rule" part way through the game.

      I thought it was just too complicated for what it actually gives...yahtzee with knobs on...when the analysis and rules explanation is longer thn the game itself I think there are problems

      @cobragamer954 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      skyblaze eterno yes I agree to a point. Once you know the rules and have a consistent group games like this are awesome ie ultimate werewolf seems to take a couple of rounds to explain the concept and how the roles are used but after that the rounds are lightning fast and amazing fun.

    This game is ultimately a race, even more so than an engine builder, getting rubies should always be your primary concern, if someone gets too much of a head start, your chances to catch up are really slim. Getting an extra dice it is huge, i felt this thing was overlooked during the course of this particular gameplay, it makes grabbing rubies way easier. In the end knowing when is the moment to go for the Mosque tiles and when is the time to grab rubies, define a winning strategy, there isn't much time to build a really functional engine.
    Also you guys didn't start with the initial crystal in the setup, that could have changed part of the strategy during players rolling.

    Per the rules - If you want to take Goods Markers, Crystals, or Lira and there
    are not enough in the general supply, then each player who
    owns at least 1 resource of the type required must discard
    1 resource of this type back to the general supply (repeat if
    necessary). Then you may take your resources. (so yes it affects Lira as well)

    I'm kind of full-up on dice games too.

    • @Barrylocke
      @Barrylocke 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The original has its share of difference, a big factor is determining routes on the map to get things done, which isn't a factor in the dice game

    It definitely seems like it has a huge runaway leader problem and it's too reliant on luck. There's a reason most dice games give the players re-rolls every turn, it replaces a lot of luck with strategy.

    Another great episode! However, near minute thirteen, I don't believe the demonstrated play is legal. When taking coins with dice, ALL dice with coins are used. You can't use that mosque tile, or any mosque tile, twice in a turn.

    • @robbyers9190
      @robbyers9190 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wonder about that. Say you roll 2 coins and some other random faces. You cash in the coins, taking your mosque tile effect and then you spend a blue gem to reroll the remaining three dice in which you get more coin symbols. Anything in the rules state you can't take the coin action again and trigger your mosque tiles?

      @@robbyers9190 You can not re-roll the dice once actions are taken. Taking coins is an action.

    • @robbyers9190
      @robbyers9190 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JonnerForSale I got that, but I'm not speaking of the dice that you've already used for the action. Those are set aside after taking the coins. You then reroll your unused dice and then end up with more coin symbols. Can you re-trigger the coin action and double out the bonus using the mosque tile?

  • @marcohoehener463
    @marcohoehener463 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Strongly disagree with Mike. Can‘t believe they let the card-income tile on display that long. Next to the extra die and +1action it is imo the most powerful one. Something positive every turn.
    Like this game a lot. It‘s really balanced. Even if someone has 6 or 7 dice it just means they didn‘t take the rubies for the symbol and fall a bit behind. I had multiple plays where the player with more dice didn‘t win because the other players where able to snatch away some of those easy rubies.

    • @mjnickoloff
      @mjnickoloff 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe I need to play it again and see. It can be hard "to figure it all out" during the game. Remember, it's the first time I'm seeing it.

    • @Naruga
      @Naruga 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Responding to an old comment but that is how my group plays this. We will get mosque cards here and there but we take rubies super quick and I was surprised watching this how many times they let rubies sit there. Taking rubies while they are cheap also makes them more expensive for anyone after.

    Not sure how I feel about a game that takes more than half the time you would spend playing it just to explain the rules.

    • @heccubus1
      @heccubus1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Dave is just doing a complete rules explanation before we start. That's so that people that want to learn the game can do so without watching the game play portion of the video.

    • @RoderickEtheria
      @RoderickEtheria 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I know, but if it takes that long to explain vs. how long it takes to play, it might lower the chances people will want to explain to those who are new vs. playing themselves and leaving those people out. It's nice that you explain, but the game developers may have to consider people who don't have you as a resource.

    • @guillermoz4914
      @guillermoz4914 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      This game definitely didn't need the long rule explanation. That's coming from someone who's been following them for years, I think Dave just repeated himself too often with this one.
