- This week we find ourselves in Newcastle on the New South Wales Central Coast. We set up camp on the outskirts of town in Raymond Terrace at my sister and brother in laws house who were courteous enough to allow us to park up in their front yard. We use this as our base to explore the area.
Newcastle is one of Australia’s oldest towns with its history reaching back to almost first settlement. Over the years it has been a vital port shipping things like coal, steel and fuel to name a few. During World War II it was shelled by a Japanese submarine that was trying to destroy Newcastle vital infrastructure that was so important to our war effort.
On today’s episode we take you for a drive along the beautiful coastline that surrounds the town, we visit the famous Nobby Beach area and take a walk along the sea wall at the entrance to Newcastles harbour. We find a hidden gem a little further to the south at Catherine Hill Bay, one of the best beaches we’ve seen so far on our big lap.
Our Starlink dies after the router burns out and leaves us offline which proves to be a little challenging when your livelihood is dependent on the internet.
So go and get yourself a cold drink and come and us for the adventure.

Great vid of our town....Keep it up..🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Thank you, we really enjoyed our time in Newcastle but we have so much more to see so we’ll definitely be back.
Thanks guys, great information of the history will definitely be putting this area on my list.
Thank you, Newcastle was beautiful and we only scratched the surface. We’ll definitely be back one day
A great advert for Newcastle guys… The Catherine Hill Bay segment was particularly good. I camped there at the southern end as a young fella over 50 years ago, had a beer or two at the Catho Bay Pub. Where did you camp down there? We live at Port Stephens and a bit tight for low cost camping up here, particularly around Easter… travel safe guys.
Thank you mate we loved our time in Newcastle and Catherine Hill Bay was beautiful. We found a great free camp in Raymond Terrace (my sisters front yard) LOL
Wow a great place to visit, was it expensive in New Castle now a day's?
Thanks for the enjoyable episode 😊
Thank you, Newcastle has changed very much but at the same time stayed the same. The beach at Nobbys was definitely a highlight and as for cost it was quite cheap as we stayed on my sisters front yard. We had a great time
Thanks for the video - very informative and entertaining. Good to hear all worked out with your Starlink.
Thank you, I must say Starlinks customer service (in our case) was exceptional, we had the replacement unit in 3 days of approval of the warranty claim
You guys are the modern day Leyland Brothers with your content 🙂 . Is that Gun at the fort still active? Wondering why it had the cover over the barrel
Thanks mate, I’m not sure about the gun it didn’t look serviceable, they may cover it to preserve it.
Maybe a map of Australia to show where you are as many may not know where you are visiting along with the costs on everything
Where is Warris Creek reference to the east cost?
Werris Creek is about 50km southwest of Tamworth
i think something has gone wrong
seems to have resolved
Thank you, yes all sorted Starlink were fantastic
