    Funniest thing. If I told you as a kid that as a grown man I'd enjoy this sort of content you'd have thought I was mad. Pure therapy watching snow fly talking about tractors.

    Very nice man! Beautiful new tractor!!! I don't miss the snow, but if you have to live in it, might as well have some fun clearing it off!!! Thumbs up!

    I have the same tractor, however I definitely don't regret going with a 74" Rear Snowblower, and that way I still use my bucket as well. Because If I had one on and not the other, I'd be wishing I had both. I used the bucket and the snowblower 50/50. Its not hard to use at all either. I just lean on my right hip, and let my left foot do the Hydros.

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jason MacKenzie I have a hard time twisting to backup. I’ll see how my 59” blower works with my 64” rear tires. I may end up getting a box blade if it does not work well. Enjoy your tractor.

      Once you use a front blower you will ever go back to a rear blower.

    Hi! Does your 3046 with the cab fit in a standard height garage? I'm considering this set up for snow removal, but concerned with the height.....

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My garage is 94.5 inches and she fits. But I would be careful none of the tractors or tires are the same. I would measure the machine and your door and ask the dealer to test fit at your house even with a used machine. I good dealer will help. Thank you for supporting my channel.

    To make snow blowing easier on the equipment, try spraying the inside of the chute and auger assembly with either a PTFE or cheaper silicone spray. Silicone works for a couple of weeks before it needs another application. The PTFE lasts an entire season before reapplication is required.

      @maraudermitchelli  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Gunga Dinn I spray it on my atv so the mud comes off easier.

      I did a wrap on my quad and had it ceramic coated as an experiment. It's worked very well.
      The next new truck I purchase will have a clear bra installed then ceramic coated. As you stated, clean up is a breeze.
      I looked up the price of your John Deere 3046r tractor and cab with the snow blower. All I can say, either you get 100 plus inches a year of snow or the JD dealer was giving tractors away when you got yours. Nice machine.
      Good luck with the storm headed your way.

    Nice rig! You need to hook up a electric actuator for the deflector on the end of the chute. I did it on my 2025 blower it works great! Didn't cost that much! Does your tractor use DEF ?

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fred Kaminski no dev, goes into regen mode and burns the particles off the muffler. It has done this once since I’ve owned it. I’ve studied hydraulic for the shoot where would I get an electric actuator?

  • @Curious_Skeptic
    @Curious_Skeptic 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice, however, I still like a straight loader for heavy snow. My 2025R would never handle what your beast handles, but nice to know if I upgrade, to make sure I get a machine with plenty of HP for heavy snows...

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steve Grumpka I believe your machine uses this snow blower with a different mount. Loaders work well also

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steve suggest you watch my video #15 Plowing snow with 4n1 bucket. I use my front end loader to remove snow with Edge Tamers. I have 3 mounted on the edge, but probably would recommend 2.

    • @toodles5683
      @toodles5683 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think the 2025 would handle it. I have a 1025R and it hasn’t been stopped by heavy snow. Just gotta go a little slower.

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Laurie B I agree. I think the smaller machines can handle heavy snow, not with the authority of a 46hp tractor...I know I’ve done it. If you blowing you go a little slower, if your pushing you take smaller bites. Thank you for watching,

    Appreciate your videos. Supposed to pick up a 3046r in a couple weeks, trading in a 2720. I am curious about hooking up the 59 in blower. Haven’t been able to find out much about it but appears more complicated than what I’m used to. And then, how much do you have to remove for the summer mowing season? Thanks for any info.

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s is involved to change over to snow blowing, probably an hour. Make sure your dealer sells all the parts.
      I highly recommend he 4n1 bucket I’ll have some more tractor video out this week.
      Is your tractor a cab unit?

    • @j3c7l10
      @j3c7l10 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Marauder Mitchelli
      It is a cab. A municipality ordered it several months ago pretty well loaded. They ended up taking another unit so this one became available. It has turf tires and after some online research I’m going to give those a try. Got a 72 mid mount mower and the snow blower attachments. I’ll look forward to some more videos!
      PS. Said it would be about six months if ordered today.

      Sorry to bother you again, but you’re turning into my “tractor mentor”. I added the wheel spacers and tried the beet juice but my local dealer uses “biomass” instead. My latest question is about the snowblower again. Just got my 3046 back from JD today after they put on the snowblower. They took off the grill guard and the front hooks for the mid mount mower. Not too concerned
      about the grill guard but do you have to take the front pto mounting plate off to put the mower back on? Thanks for any info.

      get a snow pusher for the front, but a frontier blower on the rear, its a very powerful solution. Rear blower is more powerful, push the snow where you can back into it and blow it. You also don't lose use of your front bucket this way.

    I'm thinking about selling my Chevy 2500 daily driver that i also use for the few times a year it snows and buying a 3series and ill buy a 1500 for my daily driving and towing. I figure its about $10-15k more to buy a new 2500 plus it would be fun to start a little side business taking care of the neighborhood in a tractor. I've found doing residential with my truck is a bit of a pain it's hard to get close to things and do a nice clean job. Most of our snows down here in PA are pretty light with the occasional substantial snow. I'm thinking a loader with a plow on it with a snowblower on the 3pt for those major storms.

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      rccrazy30 good plan. My family has been moving snow for 53 years. It is very hard on trucks and not so hard on tractors. It’s difficult to snow blow in reverse, especially the older and wider we get. For occasional snow it may be fine. Loader mount snow box blades are awesome for short runs. You have a great plan. I have trucks with plows at work and I can’t get my guys off the Kubota, great for detailing a parking lot after snow.

    • @rccrazy30
      @rccrazy30 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I went from using a walk behind snow blower to renting a skid steer to buying a bigger truck with a plow. I can definitely see how it will get harder luckily still pretty young so it shouldn't be an issue at this point in my life. I would go with the front blower if we got heavy snows consistently but most of the time its 3-6" if that so the plow would allow me to move a little quicker. My plan is to go through one more winter in my truck. I'm waiting to see how well this new Duramax works their putting in the 1500. I heard a rumor of 30mpg that would be a welcome break from 9mpg.
      p.s I've got a nice long plowing video on my channel thats the one and only commercial lot I'll be doing (its my families company)

      I have a GMC Sierra with the Corvette Engine and 8 gears, rear ratio is 3:20 i get 29 mpg on the highway during the summer, and 15-16mpg around town. It gets much better mileage than the smaller V8. Good luck with the truck and i'll watch your video.

      That's a lot of snow! I love the hoods on the HD truck. In our area the big thing now is V plastic plows for trucks. We've had steel V plows for years.
