    Nice demonstration of your setup. I like the idea of the snow pusher paired with the snow blower. It was good to see a sales distributor stand behind the product they sale by showing that they not only know the product specs but can demonstrate how to use the product properly. Stay safe.

    How do these work on varying sloped steep driveways? Also, when would one want to jump up to an HLA 2500? Does the HLA 1500 work on a 2032r?

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Howdy, quite well on sloped drives. If you are in the float function on your loader, then the pusher will follow the contour of the drive. I don't suggest going up to the 2500 Series until you're in a JD 4 Series frame size or Kubota L4xxx Series. Need a lot of weight to push in my opinion.

    Nice video and good discussions in the comments. Looking forward to the demo with deeper snow. I was surprised by your size recommendations. If a snow pusher is not wider than my 53" bucket, it would not seem to offer much of an advantage. What am i missing?

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question Terry. One of the main functions of the bucket edge is to dig. It is very easy to damage a paved surface or to scrape away material from a unpaved surface even when being careful. These can be costly and time consuming repairs. Additionally, most subcompacts and smaller compacts don't come with the option to add a replaceable cutting edge. This means you will wear out the front edge of your bucket very quickly, most likely creating an uneven edge along the front and often times wearing the corners back so far that they wear down to the side plate or beyond. Lastly, buckets tend to "hold" snow in the corners and back edge. Yes, raising and rolling with a "shaking" affect will help release this snow, but that also adds inefficiency to the snow removal process.
      A snow pusher rides on two adjustable and replaceable skid shoes (one on either end) and a replaceable/reversible cutting edge in either steel or rubber. The design of the HLA pushers are to keep snow rolling forward to work with the tractor instead of working against it. The corners are designed to release as much snow as possible instead of trapping it. The backdrag feature is a really awesome bonus as well although not everyone has the need for it.
      Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

    Why is it so hard to finde a 2038r? I have been trying to finde one for over a year. I believe that would be the tractor i would want just because of the need to run a splitter on the 3 point. Just can't finde one to look at up close. Also wat is the size diffrence between the 2032 and 2038. Looking at the specs it looks like 2038 would be a bigger tractor?

  • @TractorsNStuff

    Doesn't back dragging like that hurt (bend) the curl cylinders? I've had to change out a few cylinders that the operator didn't know not to back drag with dumped bucket. "heel" the bucket when back dragging seems to work just fine.

    • @GoodWorksTractors

    • @TractorsNStuff
      @TractorsNStuff 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GoodWorksTractors Probably a difference in pressure. I've dealt with operators who probably rolled the bucket all the way out, dropped the cutting edge down lifting the front tires off the ground a foot, then backing up. Whereas this, very light pressure is all that is required.
      Nice video! I'm looking for a good solution for me. Considering a plow with hydraulic wings, kind of get the best of both worlds.

    I ve used the rubber edge on my JD snow plow with a 140 and it is quiet and non-marking . It deals well with all snow conditions and packed snow pretty well , you might need to go over the packed snow parts more than once but with the pavement cleaned so thoroughly and a bit of sun just about all the snow is gone often the same day you plow . So if it works in a plow, I know it will work on this pusher .

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @herbiebackhoe5593
    @herbiebackhoe5593 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    How much "down" force or pressure was used with back dragging the snow pusher. Such as too much down force damaging the edge. That back dragging edge was hard plastic right...

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good question Herbie!
      I should have metioned that no downpressure was used at any point. The loader is moved into the float position (float function) when pushing forward and when backdragging. This function is found on all loaders I know if made in the 2000's and newer including x7 Series garden tractors, 1, 2, 3, 4 Series John Deere's and similar manufacturers. Float releases hydraulic down pressure and allows gravity and the weight of the implement to do the work. The loader (and pusher) can "float" or follow the contour of the surface you are plowing resulting in less wear on the tractor, loader, and your plowing surface.
      For those who don't know...the float function should be used as part of standard operating procedure whenever using the snow pusher, plow blade, or snow blower unless a specific circumstance calls for it.
      Both the main cutting edge and backdrag edge are a 1" thick reversible section of HD rubber. Not positive the exact composition, but it is not hard plastic.
