  • Running a Metal Pless Agrimaxx 7-12 on a John Deere 4066R plowing parking lots. Unedited footage with pure tractor sounds. Enjoy the speed and agility of the plow as we maneuver around obstacles. This was just under 3" of snow on the lot, some of it packed down because of traffic.

    WOW -- that was pretty impressive. By that, I mean not just the tractor and plow but also the operator who made fast work of the parking lot. It would appear that he has spent quite a bit of time with the equipment to be able to run the plow controls -- left wing, right wing, angle of attack and lifting the plow -- as efficiently as what we saw.

    We get 15-20 pushes a year. Most being 2-6" pushes. 1-4 pushes in that 6-12" range. Semi wet snow for most pushes. The snow out there looks like its usually fluffy? How does it handle snow around the freezing mark? Were probably getting a 4075r. In your opinion would a 7/12 or a 8/13 make more sense at that size? The weight difference is under 100lbs between a 7/12 and 8/13.

    • @jacobsonbros
      @jacobsonbros  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd go bigger. Seems like it helps more on the smaller snows...if you have issues on the big snows, fold the wings forward to box mode, or if really bad...I've folded the wings back to plow a path, then just box mode and just keep working it. I would think the extra heavy duty front end and extra HP would handle that bigger blade just fine. Handles wet snow just fine...this isn't live edge like our sectional.

    Nice set up!! I have a 3720 I'm considering putting a Agrimaxx on. I'm curious.....does that plow want to push you around at all with that size tractor? Is traction an issue at all?? How much snow can you reasonably push with that?

    • @jacobsonbros
      @jacobsonbros  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tires will be your main issue. This setup has the Nokian tri 2 winter tires instead of the standard ag tires...makes a huge difference in the pushing ability. I'd talk to your rep or call metal pless directly and talk with someone on the best size for that tractor. I would think they'd suggest a 6-11 or so. This is about right for the snows I get here in North Dakota. In box mode i can easily push a full load around while using the angle feature to help steer the front around buildings. If I max out the plow...you can always fold the wings back to at least make a path, then start pushing. I usually end up going to box mode, then riding the plow a few inches off the ground to help just "bulk off" then come back with a scrape pass.

      Apparently you’ve never been to Buffalo, this is a dusting compared to the lake effect blizzards that Buffalo is infamous for.

      @@jstoli996c4s Haha while this snowfall would just be a dusting for us too you're correct, Buffalo gets a lot more snow than we do. While the lake gives you more snow it regulates your temperature too, for our region it's how cold it gets that makes the winters so rough. I visited Buffalo in February a few years ago, would like to make it back when it's green, seems like a decent place even though I'm not a city person.
