Just like any country in the world Iran has its own religious fanatics and its progressive liberals. I hate this notion that western media keeps promoting that somehow Iranians are different species and we need to discover them. I have quite a few friends that have been to Iran and not a single one of them said something bad about Iran. The hate always comes from the ones that haven't even left their own country.

I'm from the U.S. Born and raised. I had the privilege to visit Iran twice within the last 3 years. It was absolutely beautiful!!! The people are so genuinely nice and hospitable. There was so much beautiful architecture and such profound history throughout the country. I always felt very, very safe as well. I really hope to go back some time soon because I loved it so much!!! :-)

Iranians are very cultured and secular people. They are pretty much the opposite of the Saudis in that regard. Young people and even everyday folk like the west. Even the type of Islam they practice is poetic and mystical unlike Sunni Islam which is far more cut throat

My experience is that to "talk about Iran" from the position of the United States and Europe, and actually "be in Iran over time", is like talking about going to Mars, and actually being on Mars and live there. If I was Iranian, I definitely hate America. This is the initial reaction to enemies who always discriminate against or hurt them. I once met several ministers of Iran and they are very nice representing their country. Wish Iranian have a better life.
As a Sunni Muslim from Philippines 🇵🇭 I want to say that Shia Muslims in IRAN is nice people. Very peaceful Muslim country in the Middle East. It's like a USA.
