- After being sick for around a week, I finally felt well enough to make a new video! Join us for a spontaneous tea-time adventure as I take the kids out for some tasty snacks at the Padang Brown Hawker Center, located at the corner of Anson Road and Jalan Johor. While we arrived a bit too early at 3pm (they open at 4pm), our cravings led us to another nearby hawker center along the same road, known for its delicious noodles and dim sum.
In this video, we dive into a delightful array of dim sum treats, including siew mai, fishballs, char siu bao, and my personal favorite, loh mai kai. The kids and I were pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of the dishes, making it a satisfying tea-time experience.
With a total bill of just RM14, it was an incredibly affordable and enjoyable outing. Plus, I take a moment to share some exciting ideas and future content plans for the channel, ensuring that there's always something new to look forward to.
If you're a fan of dim sum or simply enjoy exploring local hawker centers, this video is for you. Don't forget to subscribe and hit the notification bell for more family adventures and delicious food discoveries.
Have you been to Padang Brown Hawker Center or have a favorite dim sum dish? Share your experiences and recommendations in the comments below!
Thank you for watching, and here's to more unexpected and delightful food adventures!

Hope you and your family have a speedy recovery. Home cooking videso with the kids would be great to watch. Keep up the spontaneous videos. Do also show clips of your family's time in New Zealand if possible.
@@Test1958 ohhh I only have a few clips of our time in NZ... my wife was pregnant then and I was busy settling in. I did publish a few videos in my TH-cam channel... they are almost 5 years old. Time really flies....wow
Hello, have been watching your videos and enjoying them! My husband’s family was from Penang and we have been back many times to unwind and eat! Looking forward to trying some of the makan places featured in your videos. Was delighted to see Uncle Thomas in one of your videos! He was our trusted friend who used to bring us around when we were there. We miss him. Best wishes from our family to yours!
Wow! What a small world... Uncle Thomas is my father. He had a stroke last year so he can't really move so much anymore... I will tell him you saw my video, he will be happy to hear that. 😀
@@pishedbloke The resemblance between you and your Dad is striking. Please convey our regards and well wishes to your Dad and Mum. 🙏
your videos have sparked a food hunting bug to my husband & i when in penang. we will hunt for the places you have introduced and we look forward to trying them. some places you have introduced have been places we were able to host our visitor friends too.
tea time favourites for us are Aki pancake + chai kueh at super tanker food court lip sin is perfect tea time snack.
Aki pancake opens right on the dot at 4pm. So go early, skip the large queues.
looking forward to your videos soon 😊
I used to go to Super Tanker a lot when I was working in Bayan Lepas... the duck rice there is really good. And yes, the pancakes with a thousand different toppings.. LOL Glad you like the videos... :)
Hello bro have a great day together take care😅😊

@@pishedbloke Ya go go go ... but take gd care ur health n ur family too 👍
Short but good video😀
Thank you for your patience!
Please get well soon.
Thanks! I think 80-90% OK already. Target to eat durian on Sunday hahahaha
Started following shortly over a month ago and really enjoyed watching your videos. Hope you & your family get well soon! Give the new video suggestion a shot, sounds interesting! Enjoy the durian season after you recover. When does the season end? Take care & Cheers from Toronto Canada!👍🇨🇦
Thanks so much for the kind words... my sister-in-law gave us some durians today, I don't think I can resist eating some today hahahaha! Season will end in August, it may vary within a couple of weeks depending on which area of Penang you are at. Towards Teluk Bahang the season may last by an extra 2 weeks. I have visited Toronto before back in the late 90's! Nice city, close to Niagara Falls where I also visited.
@@pishedbloke The next time you visit Toronto, please let me know and I will show you around some of the good eats in town. I was back in KL / Penang last Sept / early Oct and ate durian in KL but the Musang King and D24 which I tried was only so-so. Perhaps not in season. Will make sure I try some of the durian plantations in Penang on my next visit (definitely try Capri!!). Only made it as far north as Air Itam during last visit but really enjoyed Penang! Till the next visit!
@@KennethLeo-v7i thank you so much!!! MK actually they tell me the ones in Raub and Pahang are better... Not all MK are made equal! 😀 I feel in Penang, it is better to enjoy the Hor Lor and Ang Hae varieties.
Hope you get back to 100% soon!
Trying to!!! But I actually feel much better already, last week was hell. LOL
Get well soon! I just left Penang yesterday.
Found a durian stall called Durian Canteen at 2F Lorong Delima 6, Taman Island Glades which I believe is a very local area. Saw lots of locals buying durians there. They have their own organic farm at Balik Pulau. Prices are very reasonable Black Thorn at RM67/kg, Musang King RM52/kg, Ang Heh RM34/kg, Chey Phoay RM29/kg, Lin Feng Jiao RM28/kg etc..
Oh my that sounds like a good deal!!! I can't believe I am missing all these fantastic price s... just a couple more days I should be 100%. I hope! LOL
Good to see your vlogs. Welcome back. Always interesting to see what life is like on the other side of the « pond ». Be careful, if and when you branch out, you might dilute the content and you might loose viewership.
Like I said, I’m interested in life and custom of other southeast Asian countries. I’m crazy about durians. I can only eat with my eyes 😢
An old Chinese saying, « Health is Wealth », so stay healthy for your kids. Take care and see you on the next video.
Yes, that was one of my concerns too at first, so I will slowly phase it in like a vlog style video, still talking about stuff and life, but I may be more mobile while doing so, like walking through a wet market etc. Let's see how it goes.
Best of luck on your future endeavors.
Try to stay cool…😅
take care bro,
Thank you, on the road to recovery!!!
Bless you brother. Which church do worship at.
I don't really go to church bro.
No problem God bless. Love your channel all the same 😀👍🙏🏾
This time round, the cough is terrible, I had it too then the whole family.....ugh!
Hope your wife recovers soon. Stay safe and healthy, bro.
Ya seems to be everywhere! Luckily we are all recovering well.

@@JohnJohn-kw3zx oh I heard that their durians are very very good... wish I could taste them!
Yea.. the new idea is good. Instead of sharing just food vlogs, you can also share the how to and what to videos...just as what you mentioned just now. Maybe you can upload a few videos first and gauge your audience feedback.. I will be looking forward to it... get well soon to you and your family
Thank you bro... yes, actually I was surprised at how many people don't cook at home or rarely cook. Sometimes it is not just recipes, but for a newbie going to the market could be quite overwhelming. Let me plan how to shoot these videos, most probably it will be with my eldest daughter as I teach her the ropes.
Yea. That would be good. I would try replicating your first dish you share in your vlog.. hahaha
Flu season. Drink more water. Take care. Good to eat home cook more often.
Thank you, I plan to! :)
Bro...after durian,immediately a glass of ENO...problem solved..me n wife have been doing that for yrs...so far,it works well😂😂😂!take care!
Ok ok, I guess it will only help, worth to try. I just over ate that day I guess... my own fault. 😆
First
😁😁😁
Do videos about bringing up children
Oooooh I think it will be too controversial. I already get quite a lot of rude messages which I have to clean up everyday! That is the most tiring part of doing TH-cam. A lot of negative messages, I need to ignore and just delete them. If I give unsolicited advice, I will get a lot of unwanted responses too.
The hot weather like this need to drink 凉茶 everyday..
I just had a coconut just now... 😀
Can eat but not too much. Some take of the health.
True true...
5t5
Too much durians, very heaty....4:06 now younger ppl can't speak their own dialect only can speak Mandarin, if the trend continues all dialects will be lost in the next generation..☹️😢
Yeah true.... I am also worried about this. I want my kids to speak it but they can only speak it with the older generations, their friends only speak English and Mandarin! Very sad about this.
Enjoy watching your videos but I feel you need to have a full body checkup since you are a food lover. No offence meant but you need to also lose some weight. It's OK to eat durians but in moderation. This applies to all kinds of food. Looking forward to your new format. Wishing you the best of health.
Absolutely... I hope to increase my mobility and physical activities from now on. I do go for annual checkups, but we can't wait for bad results to take action. moderation is key to everything. But durians are my big weakness hahahaha
You need to take care of your weight!
By looking at your build, I do not think you are eating healthily!
You need to reduce your size to see your kids grow!
