The 5950 isn't the best choice for gaming. The 5900 is. Fewer cores in the same space bring better overclocking potential. Go with the 5950 if you have actual work that needs more cores or if you want to make gameplay TH-cam videos. It is most for show off. Then if you go with AMD, opt for a 6900XT. You can have an 6900XT + Ryzen 5900 for the money of an RTX 3090. Unless you care about RayTracing, you have lots of money or you can have any special discounts, it is not wort getting an RTX 3090.

I'd be interested to seeing you fit this in the T1, especially with a backplate as I was unable to install my 2080 Super with the EK backplate due to lack of clearance behind the GPU. Not an issue as my card doesn't have components on the back that benefit from cooling, but I imagine the memory on the back of the 3090 will want to be cooled once it's in the T1.

Thoughts on experience level needed for either a custom 240 loop in a T1 or dual 240 in an M1? Scale of 1 to 10? Both seem relatively straight forward based on years of lurking on all the build logs on forums, just a matter of what pump/res block and planning for filling/bleeding/draining. Looking to do my first custom loop but also first SFF build. Really like the T1 overall but leaning towards the M1 for optimal cooling/noise. Planning a 5900x/3080 (ti if ever released).

Would have been nice to see more info about noise levels though. Or even a thermally normalized noise chart, ie. How loud are they all at the same temperature. After all, being able to throttle down your fans on a 360mm rad is a big advantage over a 120mm.

They're perfect for an ITX loop, and the FE PCB's are even shorter. The performance in such a compact design is what I love most about this gen. Now to actually get one...

    Hi Ali,
Is that a 360 rad on a streacom bc1? I was lurking for a bench but their site said 240mm max

They should do a Block Pump combo for ITX Build. There is so much space left. Just mount a pump on the end and redo the flowpath.

Hi. I watched your reviews of the Corsair One awhile back. I don’t suppose you could do a video about adding a water cooled RTX 30XX series card to a Corsair One? If it is possible?

So just to clarify...are these temps with the cpu and the gpu in the same loop with one 140mm then with one 240mm and then with one 360mm? So that is to say with one rad in the loop each time?

Really want to see this in the Sidearm T1! If I ever get to build a SFF workstation, I'm definitely going to use that case because of the balance of size, cooling, and aesthetics. When I was originally planning my build, I was going to use a Quadro RTX 4000, but the RTX 3080 is more powerful and cheaper, not to mention everything AMD has been coming out with lately. It doesn't matter though since I probably won't have a need for a desktop pc for few years since I just got a fully speced XPS 17 that I can just plug into my 43" Samsung 4k TV. I'm still really excited to see the final build in the Sidearm T1 with the blue water-cooled 3090!

Were you able to obtain memory junction temperatures with these fans? I hear the 3080 and 3090 GPU memory junctions have been running in the high 90s to low 100s C with high loads.

Love this video. FYI I have 2080ti w/5GHz 9900k in shift x case, 120mm+240mm rad, I didnt like my temps, GPU was around 55deg c or so, couldn't oc my GPU much, so fitted external radiators using QDC and it now runs with extra 2x360mm rads in the loop, so basically 3x360mm in my loop. Idle is 29deg c, Max is 43deg.c, I can OC 2080ti +1100 on mem, and hit 2115MHz on GPU. Love it 😃 next case will be 011D mini with 2x360 and 280Mmm rads. 😃 new build in Jan.

You used a 240mm for both 10900k and 3090? In NCASE M1 with two 240mm we can expect even better results then?

Looks awesome. But I have to ask since I never watercooled myself, are they really silent? 1500 RPM on the fans? My Noctua fans never go above 900 RPM, and my Strix card is silent during gaming and barely audible during heavy games. Those numbers looks amazing for overclocking though, and it's on a friggin 3090 :D

It would be nice to see this review with one type of radiator. For example - Nexxos ST30 V2 - 120 / 140, 240, 360 - better rad performance scalling ... By the way, nice work, as usual !

One potential video idea Ali, is a "comparison" or "guide" for 3080/90 models and waterblocks for SFF cases in terms of size. I have my name down for a 3080 TUF (since it is one of the best AIB models based on the reviews) for a while now, but I just recently discovered that it is by far not the best option for me since the waterblock won't fit in my case (it's very tall). So, I have to focus my attention on other models, but getting in line just now... chances that I will get one before the end of the year are very very slim.

Nice 3090. Will the Kraken G12 work on this card? I use a G12 on the 2080ti like yours but with a fractal 240mm cooler which gives sub 50c temps overclocked all day long under full load and totally silent.

Its good that you have to cut the pads yourself. On my 3080 STRIX, the diagram was completely wrong... My backplate was bowing ion the middle and only making contact at one point with their pad placement "suggestion"...

Very intesting video. I'm looking at building a closed loop with a Bykski 280mm radiator, a UV Zotac 3090 + a 5900x, by this video I guess the 280mm radiator, despite only being copper core would be enough, or wouldn't it?
