I made my own for almost nothing. Got the wood and the world's strongest magnets for free. I used throw away 1x1 finishing trim for an adjustable easel. Hollowed out the inside making it extremely light but also made it so I could carry my water, paints, brushes, towel and tripod all inside. Then all I had to buy was fiction hinges and a peice of glass to mix on. Oh yeah, forgot the best part. My wife donated a leather strap from a bag she had so I could add it to the box. Now it is a cross body thing that I don't exec notice I'm carrying. Which is a huge difference between this and my old French easel. It got so heavy I could only use it when traveling with my electric wheelchair. If my electric wheelchair chair can't get there I couldn't paint there. Now I can ride my chair as far as I can then crawl the rest. When my wife let's me that is. Which is extremely seldom. I've gotten to where I don't want to burden her and she's gotten to where it's harder for her to drag me out of sticky situations. So it's best for both of us if I just behave, but less weight means more battery life. Yippee

Thank you for this demo for watercolor! I just got the medium size palette and I’m expecting my ordered side tray soon. I wasn’t sure how to set it up for watercolor but used it today for acrylics outside with my tripod. It was so good I forgot it was there, just got into the painting itself-great! Trying to figure out a streamlined way to carry the tripod!

This awesome box has been on my wishlist list since I discovered it. And I love the shirt! I still can't wrap my head around I'm old lol! But definitely still a kid at heart! And you be more careful! Taking a spill hurts! My mom I'd on Plavix and she bruises even worse than you. That stuff is so hard on you even when it's necessary...
🤣😉Amen sister! As far as pochade boxes go, this is so affordable, but I get it. It’s an investment. I had never heard of it and was going to have my husband make me a James Gurney style one but this was so nice. I just put it in my cart and bought a side tray. Then the next day I bought the other side tray. I’m sure I also paid for shipping three times. Doh! Cha-Ching.
PS-Would love to see how you pack your backpack with your gear!

That's a nice plein air set-up that you've got there, Sharon. No that aren’t as nice. I have that style pochade but custom made. These are so flat and nice. I can fit it in my outer pocket of my backpack.

Thank you for this review im deciding between this and the cup easel made in canada...i wish i could see both products in person but im so rurual the closest art store is quite a distance away not evenvsure theyd carry either or...i guess im just gonna have to do more research and hope i make the right decision for i have a older tripod and hope they will be bot okay for tripod....thank you again have a nice xmas....mikelle art mom👩🎨🎨✍
The ugh anywhere pochade is fine on tripod. I just took the piece of another and screwed it in so that it fits on my tripod. I’m using an old one. It worked fine in the field as well. I have an entire video of me using it, but my camera storage is messed up and o can’t load it. I will be back with that video though.
I also looked at the cup easel but it is pretty expensive in comparison. The u-go is lower in weight I believe as well

How did it work out for you with using this tiny pochade with oils? Or you use it only for gouache? Also- the water bucket is hanging off the band which is hanging off the side tray which is attached by magnets? Is it that strong? Water bucket can be quite heavy plus when clean brush… a the brush cleaning action can make the set up topple? Or is it stable enough?
What size sketch book was that?

thanks for showing...I don't like the angle is either 90 straight up angle or 180...flat...not in between...but there is such a huge way over the palette area to the painting...you are far away!!!!...Not sure it is for me...like to be able to lift up my substrate...flip it around...not sure I like the whole magnetized stuff...as I see there are NO MAGNETS ON THE EDGES OF THE SIDE BOARDS...just the side that joins the palette...huge cheap /terrible mistake ...to not have magnets on the side panel outer edges
