Why dO the Scots claim they want independence when they just want to leave the british/NI union and join the EU. That's not independence.

Look, for the people who want indy for the sake of indy, other than nat pride, I think it's about getting a seat on the table. Scottish embassies, Scottish UN recogniation, Scottish NATO membershi, Scotland voting in the EU parliament with Ireland. In the EU we'd have sovreinty, and we are aligned more closely with Germany etcs values than England's. That's all well and good but for the more reasonable of those among us (non bammy young people) there's plenty of reasons.
For your currency question, that's the debate innit? At the moment, Humza and Sturgeon before him are all about a "Scottish pound". Personally, wouldn't hate it. My only thing at the moment is that we can't keep using the british pound, it's a burning ship and if we leave we'd have no control of it anyways. But, I get that people in Scotland could be swung over by things as trivial as what the currency is called, or if we have a king. So let's play ball, say we'll make a Scottish pound. 5 years later, we're in the EU. EU members have to "work towards" shifting to the Euro, but there's no set timescale, and Poland still hasn't made the switch. I'd like to use the Euro some day, but we'd have to wait a while I think, for people to forget British pride and identity.
And the national debt? They actually found a way about this, but it won't be popular. Scotland won't have to take on ANY UK national debt if.... everyone loses their pension. Now, given that pensions make or break a vote, this won't be popular. However. They would be able to bail out the pension, for around 1/6th of what the national debt costs would be. Still a loss, but saving a lot of money. They'd have to make this VERY clear to the public if they go down that route though.

My lovely Daughter noted this years ago. Her solution is that Scotland should remain in the U.K. as a reservation, like the ones in the U.S. or preserves in Australia. In this way the English could keep us, natives and descendants exclusively, in perpetuity in the grand manner we deserve!

The queens ferry crossing is a vital piece of infrastructure that connects edinburgh to Fife and allows for the safe and efficient transport of both people and goods as it free's up traffic on other bridges. I just found that the blue colour of the Scottish flags are different. I have heard that's the Royal Navy's fault. The Navy found that the flag faded fast as they sailed under the strong sun. So they could keep using the flags longer they made the blue colour darker. That's why the blue is called Navy blue.
Proper colour of our Saltire is Pantone 300 blue.
Darker blue is the bastardised Brit version.
To Dereck....it is not a bastardised version...by my country...but the proper version used by national football teams and in the union flag..that was approved of by the Scottish king James!!!!
The flag of Scotland is not 'the saltire'. The flag of both Jamaica and the Confederate States of America are saltires. The flag of Scotland is the 'Cross of Saint Andrew' Apostle of Jesus Christ and patron Saint of Scotland.

I'd love for Scotland to leave and I don't know why the UK stops referendums, after all Scotland costs way more in public spending than it generates for the taxpayer (even with North Sea oil), has a massive unemployment problem as well as being the highest drug use country in the entire of Europe by far! If anything would be best if you leave as soon as possible.
