CTF farming (Controlled Traffic Farming) is mainly practised for cereal growing around the globe. It means that all field work is carried out via one set of tracks. For grass this system also has advantages and it is mainly used in Denmark. Dutch contractor De Schalm is a fan of the system and it developed its own 9m system. This is used for grass growing but also when harvesting maize.
Central in the system is the Siwi quick-hitch coupling system. Both the John Deere 8600i forage harvester and the Claas Axion 840 and Fendt Favorit 916 Vario are using it. The company uses one Kröger Agroliner push-off silage trailer with 2 steering axles that exactly follows the forage harvester. In maize it is difficult to use the system properly as the trailers cannot be filled 100% and the crop yield is much greater than in grass.

Heb het gelezen in de Trekker.mooi om het nu ook werkend te zien.hier zijn de percelen er te klein voor hier rijden ze wel met oppikhaken achter de trekker.of de kar nog ouderwets achter de hakselaar.

We do not yet apply CTF on this plot, but we are still reducing the tramlines. Where we do use CTF, trailers are only changed on headlands

It all started with USA equipment @ Van Bakel. They have invented and developed the idea of compacting trailer. So cool! Also this hitch link shown in this video honestly guys how long do you think that will hold up? It looks cool. Let’s try connecting and disconnecting 500 times. No way.
Quickhitch a trailer is one thing, I’m all for it. Linking hydraulics 30-40-50 times a day under these condition? No way.
The system has been in use for years in Denmark and I think without problems. The USA trailers are nice but other companies such as Fliegl already had those kind of trailers (push off) long before!

Indeed, the system is not yet optimal. We want to create a kind of goal at the rear of the trailers so that we do not run the risk of the harvested product spraying over the trailer and the trailers can be filled properly. On this field we normally use 3 trailers and 3 tractors so we now save 1 tractor and 1 driver so it is not entirely a waste of time.
