In my case, I actually legitimately had the 2 working together. Because they were the only 2, aside from Hilda, who COULD safely attack... So the cutscene wasn't far off in probably just my game.
I think the lyrics being "unknown" is a symbolism of how Nemesis is a foe from a thousand years ago, Fodlan has changed so much since then, so that's why nobody can really understand what the song says.

I would interpret it similarly. Or perhaps like a mystic language from the spiritual world or old magical enchantments.
To me, it sounds almost *norse* . Like a song a band of Vikings would sing as they arrive upon your shores to loot and pillage. A raiding battle song. However, you can understand 'Fodlan' and 'Megami Shattering Star'. Technically; the song's title is 'Goddess Shattering-Star' since Megami is *specifically* Goddess; and; well Nemesis killed a Goddess; drunk her blood and mad her spine his sword. He probably saw himself like a star... the Goddess-Shattering Star.

Yeah, speaking as someone who regards this game as near perfect even in spite of Dorothea and Manuela's Sheer Existences, the biases in Byleth's stat growths and strengths, and the shortness of Crimson Flower, that... that was jank. They could've foreshadowed that a little better. I thought from Rhea's explanation of him he was Actually Fucking Dead.

Lost Melody Rhea did kill Nemesis, but due to Sothis' blood coursing through his veins, it turns out he was only MOSTLY dead. There's a difference between mostly dead and all dead. That may have been why the Agarthans were able to revive him fully even though the other 10 elites were just soulless husks of their former selves when they were brought back.
But I agree they could have foreshadowed it better. Maybe have some scenes where members of TWSITD hint at reviving Nemesis as their backup plan if they are defeated.

You can tell because it’s meant to be similar to “Warriors shout for the earth”, which would come at 1:02. From there, every timestamp off. I believe the mistake was thinking that 0:16 was a different line from 0:12, when they were actually the same line (the third line).

Brenden McCreary Apex of the World could never reach a level or pure art that is God Shattering Star. Don’t get me wrong it’s great, however this is one of the most difficult, beautiful, and enticing vocal performance for a video game piece of music I’ve seen in years. It’s extremely well orchestrated and that “old man” happens to be EXTREMELY talented compared to MANY singers. It takes more guts, skills, tenacity, and talent to be able to sing as beautiful as that.
I really loved the part in the ending where Byleth said "The God Shattering Star is the friends we made along the way"

I did, and that was a terrible mistake because I had to bring Ingrid, who had some TERRIBLE growths on my GD run. And I wasn't even using Sylvain, so I had to have Ashe cover for him.

Her sheer speed and resistance growths alone have usually made her a perfect mage slayer, and she was surprisingly physically tanky in my first run as well. Despite her low strength growth I've never had any problems with her might so far.

Byleth's inclusion in Smash fueled my interest. However, now the game has been spoiled for me, so I won't enjoy the game nearly as much. There will be no surprise factor.

Claude's route was the ultimate route. All the other routes led up to this one. This route was clearly designed to be the last route played.
I double down on this because I'm scared to do the other two. But I heard there are some sick moments in each, like the Blue lions villain reveal.

Honestly the last two VW chapters made me fall in love with the game. From destroying an Emperor like a classic FE game to suddenly fighting against underground technology with fucking *dubstep* playing in the background to ALL OF A SUDDEN, FIGHT VS THE LEGENDARY 10 ELITES AND NEMESIS WITH FUCKING OPERA.
The best thing is that my Hilda faced Goneril, and she was gonna lose but SHE PULLED OUT A CRIT AND KILLED GONERIL. It was an AMAZING feeling to have all of my units go around in different directions to take care of different elites and bird beasts, just to then have everyone go to the center to face Nemesis. My Seteth and Petra took care of the Flying Beasts on the right while my Raphael went through the bridge to get rid of the enemies there, my Dorothea and Marianne stayed at the back dancing and healing everyone in the army, with Marianne swooping in for a kill with Blutgang or Aura, Ignatz, Lorenz and Leonie took care of the units on the side without a problem while Hilda, Claude, Lysithea and Byleth went on the offensive against the rest of the units at the center.

@@monsoon1303 Actually, Thales and Those Who Slither In The Dark are the overall main antagonists of the game. Nemesis doesn't really act a whole lot in the story, he just appears at the end for one last fight. He's important to the lore of the game but not the central plot.

@@livault I'm quite curious, in games most of the time the final boss isn't the main villain of the game, usually their beast or resurrected master. Sometimes you don't fight the main villain at all. I wonder why this is a trend.

It was heavily implied that only Byleth could challenge Nemesis directly due to both bearing the Crest of Flames. While Claude lends a hand with a trick shot in the final blow, it's Byleth's use of the Sword of the Creator that fells its original wielder, simultaneously shattering its dark counterpart. Rather fitting for Byleth to do so since it was the massacre at Zanado, a crime Nemesis committed in the pursuit of power, is what set many events into motion. One of which being Rhea's obsession, which in turn led to Byleth's existence as well as the events of the game. Nemesis has no idea he put himself in Byleth's crosshairs to punish all those who had something to do with Jeralt's death by rising from the grave. None of the events of Three Houses would've even happened if it wasn't for both Nemesis as well as "Those who slither in the dark".

Rhea in Silver Snow: completely losing control, making most of the church soldiers to be either frenzied or transformed to white beasts, with her almost destroying all of Fodlan against her own will
Or Nemesis in Verdant Wind: reborn after the destruction of Shambahla, using the power of the crest of flames, the king of liberation massacred many people in Fodlan, destroying as many people as he wanted as long as he can seek revenge from Seiros (Rhea) using the sword of the creator, with the power to command the 10 Elites
I would say Nemesis. Rhea and her beasts are strong, but the 10 Elites were strong enough to slaughter almost ALL the Nabetean dragons and were even stronger with the Hero's Relics. It took Seiros uniting Fodlan against them to take them down. Even in terms of gameplay, Rhea is pretty stationary. Once you take down his barrier, Nemesis will run roughshod over your entire army with his 1-5 range Sword of the Creator if you let him.
I will also say Nemesis. In terms of pure stats he clearly has the edge over Rhea (though she does have more HP), and story-wise as well he comes off as a way bigger threat in my opinion. It helps that in their respective cutscenes after beating them we see Rhea pathetically running away, while Nemesis is only barely beaten by the combined efforts of Claude and Byleth (as well as some trickery on Claude's part).
I’d have to go Nemesis as well. Going by pure presence, Rhea is presented as a beast that merely lost control(not to mention the battle immediately pre-time-skip), while every time word of the Fell King of Liberation would arise, I felt as though I were hearing stories about a figure well outside of my meager sphere of ability. The dude felt like a super-boss long before he walked the earth to do battle once more.
So we have another dragon or an undead bandit that caused a holocaust
