Do you plan on doing an extended review? I feel like this only covers the first few hours of gameplay. I'd like to hear how owning pets, diving, etc actually works in an actual playthrough
To be honest, I got sidetracked with shiny new games and haven't had time to go back into Coral Island. I still think it's worth the price for those who like cute farming games.
I've played a good few farm sims and watched my GF playing a few too. This is by a country mile the best farming game I've played. It's like Stardew on steroids and Story of Seasons looks like shovelware next to this.
I've played this game since it launched in Early Access. It's one of my favorite games! Just wait until you can dive under the ocean and discover what is down there. (no spoilers) You'll love it! Enjoyed your review and subscribed. :)
I'm kicking myself for not playing sooner...I bought it last summer during the Steam sale! 🤦♀️ Thanks for verifying that it is indeed an awesome game (and for the sub)! 🥰
Nice review! This game deserves much more hype. I think the price is the only thing keeping it from being as popular as Stardew Valley, because it's such a deep and rewarding game. I love how the various systems are tied into one another to progress. Like how you get farming upgrades from doing the diving and cleaning the ocean, and the mining making everything else easier as you upgrade your tools. It feels like you're constantly progressing just by doing whatever you feel like on that day and in that moment. The QOL things like having fast travel early game, just gives you more time to do what you want during the day. It's just a great game with a lot of charm and depth.
Great review, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I haven't bought the game yet but I feel like it's just a matter of time. Hopefully Penny and our wee children back in Stardew don't feel like I've abandoned them.
It is a good and interesting game but at the moment its not a real 1.0 full version! It's lagging, crashing, missing sounds, WIP texts... they should have keep it in EA further....
Hi, if you don’t mind me asking what pc you using? Did you built your own or is it pre built?’ May I know the specs? Because you’re other gameplay look so smooth
Hello. My recording PC is a few years old and has a Ryzen 9 3950x and a 3080 GPU, and I play on 1440p resolution. I didn't build it, but I did pick the parts and pay someone else to put it together. Hope this helps, cheers! :)
I played it last year and stopped when I realized I didn’t do something in a season which led me to not being able to progress during the next season with a temple. I hate that SDV type mechanism. I also remember this game being tedious. I am not sure I will restart it again now that it is in full release.
they're seelling an incomplete game, main guests have a big WIP´wall, its a joke to support this company, theyre sleezy, i rather pirate the game than give money to them.
Wow, I hadn't heard much criticism of Coral Island other than that they're not fully finished with the characters' stories. I'm still very much a beginner and thoroughly enjoying it, and I hope they do complete it before too long.
yikes that was venomous. its an early access game that just hit 1.0 and they donate proceedings to charity. there are already boundless things that improve on its inspiration of stardew as is. ive played hours so far too w/out “WIP wall” so you mustve played a bunch anyway or not at all lol sucks you stole all that work from them by pirating
These developers Scammed people from day one. They fully release an Unfinished game and asked $40 for it!! They still aren’t giving everything they promised to the backers who payed for the development of this game until 2025, if they even do continue to update it. These “cozy game” youtubers are fake, make sure you do your Research on games and take what they tell you with a grain of salt. Sims is a buggy mess and the youtubers still “recommend” it and don’t tell you. Proceed With Caution!!
I can see how it not living up to your expectations would be disappointing as a Kickstarter backer. I bought Coral Island on sale during early access and did truly enjoy it for weeks before I moved on to other games, but I don't really care about stories in games much, just the cute farming/decorating/fishing, etc.

Agreed, it has enough different to make it stick out in a crowded farming sim genre. :)

Finally, someone else who loves penny!
Talk to me! Are you buying Coral Island or passing on this game?
Are we talking like a 40 hour farm sim or a 100 hour farm sim?
It is a good and interesting game but at the moment its not a real 1.0 full version! It's lagging, crashing, missing sounds, WIP texts... they should have keep it in EA further....

This is such a sidenote to the video but you have a beautiful voice!!
Oh wow, thank you for that compliment!! 🥰

Oh no, that is frustrating discouraging. Care to share what it was? :)
My wife played it on my xbox game pass on my windows PC and she's obsessed with it. Bought the game now because it seems good
I'm glad she loves Coral Island! It is indeed a pretty fun game, especially for those bored with Animal Crossing. :)
I did also... however, it crashes a lot which is frustrating. I comeple a mission and then have to start over because it crashes.
i'm addicted to this game now😭😭
No way!!! Jax the Call of Duty and Watch Dogs slayer is playing cute Coral Island?! Seriously, that's awesome though!! 🥰
OFC
No, I never played the sims. Tell me what did they do?
🤭🤭
I prefer 3d games anyway😊
Harvest Moon not Stardew, Stardew isna clone itself

@ I do appreciate that you let other peoples onions and facts be heard, most youtubers don’t.
